At this price, which is half of the bigger brands, this helmet is a great option for a soft helmet with good impact protection. The chin strap was supplied with a neoprene cover which may address the issues reviewers have left in the past too. At 61cm I'm an XL and I'd say the website guide lead me to the correct size, however if you're larger than this the XL won't be suitable unless it stretches with use. Overall a great product at this price point!
Used in coastal walking as a replacement for a cap that can be lost. At least the protection against the sun's UV rays is complete.
Too bad there isn't more choice in size because I'm in between. Very useful against the anxiety of taking a board in the head or hitting the bottom when charging on waves in shallow water. Easy to put on and adjust, light. I don't really like the design at the back, could do better but it's suggestive and for the price it's acceptable.
Very comfortable and light I use it with the wingfoil and I don't even feel it
Top product without analogue
Lightweight helmet to wear and stable in the waves, quite comfortable. The angle between the inside of the helmet and the visor is a little firm and creates a support point on the forehead, during the session the helmet tends to go up on the head tightening the chin strap on the neck in the process, these remarks are details but can be used for the future generation of helmets. (I hope to have the right size of helmet)
the helmet works well but it has a big problem the sand gets into the cover and it can't be removed even by washing it with soap so the sand remains stuck in the external part and after a short time it already seems old. I don't know if it's just my problem or if everyone does it like this but if it can't be solved I would ask to replace it with a black one so it doesn't show
Hello. It would be perfect if the visor was 2 or 3 cm longer. Whether for the sun or for protection from impacts to the face. The old model had a larger visor but was less comfortable.
Comfortable and secure
A longer visor would be great in relation to the sun, especially since the visor is “soft” (no risk of accident)

Worn at every session for 1 year and am delighted with it. Robust, holds well in place, does not slip from the back even when doing duck dives under solid waves. Only point to improve for me: the look. I recently fell for a helmet from another brand for its all-purpose look (it looks like a simple hat, (but with the protective frame clearly present). However, it does not match the Olaian for its robustness, its finishes and its comfort I just like it for its great look. I would love to see a version of the Olain with a hat/bucket design so that it is even more "low profile".
Well made, practical and comfortable, it guarantees good protection. I recommend it
The helmet offers effective protection against blows and impacts. The helmet is made of a material that is incredibly hard when hit, but can be changed safely with gentle pressure. It is light and super comfortable and the price-performance ratio is unbeatable. I use the helmet for wing foiling.
Given for 58/60 the L tightens me a little while I am 59...the chin strap must be well stretched otherwise major skin irritations. Afterwards, to open the skull well beforehand, I put up with these inconveniences.

Restrictions
This helmet can be used during recreational surf sessions in normal conditions, but not for motorised sports or surfing in very large waves.The test protocol is valid for recreational surfing only. As such, its use in any other water sport ( foil, wake, kite, etc.) is at the user's own risk.
