Great commuter!

I bought this bike as a commuter in London. I typically cycle 5 miles each way. The bike is steady, quick and fun; it is a plus that it can easily fold up for the train.

Tilt 900

Experienced road cyclist, I purchased the Tilt to allow me to discover new areas to cycle, can put in the back of the car or take on train. A different ride to a regular cycle, more upright and very positive steering. I have rode almost 200 miles over 6 weeks. In my opinion this is a great bike, comfortable, gears are perfect with a wide enough range, was impressed with the Sora shifter. The magnets are poor at holding the bike together so I use a small strap. Great cycle and one that I would definitely recommend.

Very happy

Brought a folding bike and it was a very smooth process and great experience

Used once for 4 miles, handle bars came loose as well as back wheel. Luckily I had a quality multi tool with me and was able to tighten everything up but lost faith in the bike. Only thing I was happy with is the refund.

Good value folding bike

After a few weeks of use this bike has proven to be fun to ride, brakes good, seems robust. Bit skittish but all folding bikes like that with the small wheels. Magnets aren't very good at holding it closed but thats not a problem if you are just taking it in and out of the boot

Overall very hapy, just a few minor niggles.

I've had this bike for two weeks now and am very happy. It is my first time on a folding bike and was skeptical having always ridden a full-size hybrid. PROS: - Quick folding - can be done in 10s. Handbars, frame, seat, peddles. - Light and fast! I'm much faster on this bike than I was on my "proper" previous bike The combination of lightness, and decent gearing ratio means I easily keep up with the lycra-clad carbon-frames, on my commute. CONS: - Front and rear lights are woeful. The concept is good, integrated at the front and sufficiently secure as to be safe from theft at the rear. But they are flimsy and provide little useful light. Good as a backup only. - As others have said, you may find your handlebars slightly off-centre. This can be fixed by loosening the two screws at the base of the handbar hinge and adjusting. - No paniers as standard and the placement of the screw-holes under the seat post (aligned on top rather than the side) mean the bike is compatible with a limited range of paniers. - Peddels feel a little odd to me, as if they are slanted downwards. - Steering has some slight flex and the narrowness means steering can be quite touchy. But to be expected. - The magnetic joins to keep the bike folder are weak. Another mechanism (or attaching velcro as other's have recommended) would be better. - Front mugduard could do with extending a bit further forward. In wet conditions water can spit up in to wind and is carried upwards towards the cyclist. Despite the list of cons, I a very happy with the bike and they are minor niggles. I didn't expect to like the bike but am very impressed and it looks good.

Cheaper than parking at our train station

What a great bike, wife is going back to work by train and will save £74 per month by not parking, and can now catch the earlier train back home. Btwin is a win, win. Great spec, light frame and easy to move about when folded down. Super bright lights, and easy to ride, save your money on a Brompton. Fitted the puncture free inner tubes (gel lining) from Decathlon, sorted. Easy gear change and very user friendly saddle and handle bars, numbered seat stem. A bargain commuter bike, now that all is getting back to some normality.

I love this bicycle

I hadn’t ridden a bicycle in over a decade and thought it’s about time to get fit. I live a 1-bed apartment/flat and don’t have the space for a full size bike. My Costa cafe friends showed me their new Decathlon folding bikes and they totally fascinated me.. so naturally I went online to investigate further. As soon as I saw this, I instantly fell in love with it and knew it was for me. The prices of bicycles have shot up over the years and considering what you’re getting, this is a total bargain for a folding bike. I’m glad I waited so long. It’s a smooth ride with very responsive gears and folds up nicely for transport, shopping or cafes - so there’s no need to worry about theft. The folding mechanism is well thought out and beautifully designed with powerful magnets to hold things in place. It’s worth investing in this model instead of the lower models, because of the quality of life improvements and upgraded gear system - this is made with quality and durability in mind while offering an enjoyable ride. With all the advantages, there are some flaws.. the folding mechanism scratches the paint, as does the pedal arm with the stand. I also wouldn’t recommend the rear pannier rack accessory which weighs the bike down and interfered with my rear brakes. The flexible front basket accessory is excellent though, but could be more collapsible like a filming reflector or softbox. Overall I’d say, you can’t do any better at this price point, it’s a giveaway compared to the competition, as well as the excellent customer services you receive from the Decathlon stores. I can’t imagine my life without it, especially with the new cycle lanes - I’m having a blast. Many people ask if it’s electric and I say, “why would I buy electric? Doesn’t it defy the purpose of getting fit?” People are so lazy nowadays.

Btwin Tilt 900

Great bike. I use it mainly for rides in parks. Ig feels sturdy and easy to ride. The only criticism is that the magnets sometimes slide into one another and get stuck. Btwin should have designed a catch to make sure the magnets stay in position when you move the bike while it's folded ( for example from your home to the car)

Beautiful bike with beautiful price and ugly ride

I have had this bike for 10 months now. I use it for commuting although with Pandemic, not so much. Its a beautiful bike; at the beginning , it rode nicely. The gears worked very well, the rides were smooth. Now , its not so smooth. I have already had to have the tyres changed a while ago, as they de-inflated during the lockdown. Good things: rides well though gears not so smooth;easy storage and actually enjoyable to ride Bad things. Plenty; it does feel like a cheap bike; sometimes i think that the bike will split in two during a ride; the seat falls - as commented in other posts-, the tyres are of low quality and need constant pumping up air; The folding mechanism is a joke; its a magnet, good for your fridge. You will need to buy something to reinforce the folding; the magnets will come undone when you roll the bike or when you touch it; it just doesn't work. a defining event that shows the quality of a company or product is the fact that I was sold this bike not in fully working order, with the front light not working. I have requested this to be fixed but only a chain of inept actions followed.10 months later i have given up on having the beautiful front light working and have installed mine (they did supply me some £1 lights instead). Also, change the seat; its nice but will kill your butt. Contrary to what some people here say, I actually think that Customer Service is terrible; Rare is the time when you can do something in 10mins or less at the store. In my case, I have been to the store several times; i have even been told to come back , that the fault would be repaired for free to then be charged for it. There is a guarantee but you cannot trust it as it will always be a riders fault, or at least, that is what you will feel. It is a pity but Decathlon misses a good trick here; this could be a brompton competing bike with all their resources but always find the cheapest of materials. Is not designed by cyclist but by designers...

Few oversights let down an otherwise good product

I have this bike for 6 months now. I cycle approximately 20 km per day to commute to work using bike and train. I can confirm several of the points raised in earlier reviews (as can a colleague who purchased the same bike). - The retaining mechanism for the seat post has issues. As with other reviewers, within a few weeks the seat post would start to sink down. This came to a head when it suddenly gave way while I was riding, causing a an accident. Fortunately only a few bruises resulted, but see the other review dated 14/10/20 where another customer ended up with fractured ribs. I weigh around 80kg, so I am well within the weight that the bike should support. My advice is to tighten the retaining mechanism every few week - otherwise this issue will recur. - The brakes are really poor - I'm on my second set already. Either replace straight off, or brake well ahead of where you would normally. - The lights are not sufficient - you would be best advised to buy your own additional set. In particular, the back light is completely obscured by the Decathlon branded pannier rack designed for this bike! - When I first got the bike, the chain would come off the front cog whenever it was ridden. I took the bike to the Decathlon store and they replaced the chain free of charge - no more problems after the replacement. However, not everything is bad. The bike does fold very quickly and easily. It is easy to secure the bike with a D lock through the middle section. The saddle is comfortable. Gear changes are smooth and quick. Overall, I can't recommend this bike. I wish I had spent a bit more. If you do buy is, be aware of the issues that I have mentioned above - several other customers seem to have experienced the same. Overall, a potentially reasonable bike which is let down by a few cheap component choices.

Amazing bike

Great product, well built, excellent quality and safe, would totally recommend

Tilt 900

Comfortable ride and the gears are adequate for leisure cycling which is what I bought it for. Straight forward to fold and unfold but I found it quite heavy and bulky to carry.
