I have been enjoying the Riverside 520 bike since spring 2021 and it's working great. Just wish decathlon also stocked the XL frame since the Large feels a little small sometimes (6'1 tall).

I had been looking for a longer lasting, more reliable bike after realizing I have a passion for riding (I rode a bike a lot as a child but that was literally the last time I was on one). I had hobbled through about 13 months of the pandemic on two sub $200 department store bikes that cost me hundreds to repair during biking season. Finally I happened to be looking on the Dartmouth Decathlon site for bike shorts and realized they had two of these Riverside 520's in stock! So far I've put on about 800km in about a month and a week on this bike. The only issue I had so far was I lost power to the rear light and after a bit of sleuthing I found out that the wires directly below the head tube were broke, then upon even closer inspection they use a pair of male/female lugs that simply pulled apart no doubt when I had the front tire angled too far to one direction, I plugged it back in and it was fine! So far extremely pleased with it! Crossing my fingers this is as well built as they tout it to be.
Delivered to the door. Well protected in box. Only needed to fit handle bars and check tyre pressures. Really impressed with the quality of components.Dynamo lights are a nice touch, especially as they stay on to a couple of minutes after you stop, which is great at junctions and lights. This really is a bargain.
Thanks to Peter Lazarus and his article I collected my Riverside 520 yesterday after ordering Thursday ! Mods made before first ride: “900” bar bag Btwin “spd” pedals Bidon cages Btwin 15l panniers. First impressions on a short moist ride : Comfort Wide bars Usual serious stopping power from hydraulic discs “1 by” is plenty with the 42 tooth being LOW !! Rolls smoothly on the 700*42 rubber Having size 47 hooves I’m delighted that I don’t clip the panniers.
Kolo je dobre zpracovane.Vyborne se na nem jede az me to prekvapilo.Jedine negativum jsou ne moc dobre brzdy hlavne predni jsou tragicke.Potrebuji bud jine desticky nebo kotouc ale neni to tim ze nejsou zajete..na kole mam uz kolem 2500km a stale to brzdi hrozne.jinak vse v pohode.pokud nekdo hleda dokonalost musi koukat na touring 900 ale radsi bych si vylepsil tohle a vyjde vas to levneji.Uz se tesim na dalsi brasny a predni nosic.
Robusní kolo které uveze velkou zátěž ve velikostech rámu i pro výšku 190cm +, koncipované především na zpevněné cesty ( přední převodník jen na jedno střední kolečko ), nutné dokoupit příslušenství jako stojánek, úchyt na lahev apod., poměrně vysoká cena, vše funguje jak má.
Ich bin seit Februar 21 mit diesem Rad ca. 6000km gefahren und bisher sehr zufrieden. Es ist einfach zu warten, stabil, bietet viel Platz für Gepäck und fährt sich angenehm. Ich fahre damit ins Büro, einkaufen, Touren und nehme es mit in den Urlaub. Die Schalthebel fand ich nicht so gut und habe diese gegen Shimano Slx Hebel getauscht. Die Bremsen sind bei viel Gepäck zu schwach und wurden gegen Shimano Deore m6000 getauscht, die Griffe waren unbequem und wurden gegen Ergon Ga3 getauscht, der Lenker und Sattel waren zu schmal und wurden getauscht. Die Reifen haben zwar hervorragende Eigenschaften was Pannen betrifft, fuhren sich aber sehr schwergängig, diese wurden durch leichte 29" Mtb Reifen ersetzt ähnlich dem RC920. Mit ein paar Anpassungen, das empfinde ich bei dem Preis als absolut ok, ist es nun ein für mich hervorragendes Rad, dass ich jedem empfehlen kann.

Muy contento salvo por los neumáticos. Pesan 1300 g, una locura. He puesto unos similares en medidas de más calidad y he bajado el peso 1,5 kg. Debería llevar anclaje para pata de cabra cerca del eje trasero. Por lo demás todo bien.

Tras dos meses trabajando con esta bici, desarmando cada uno de sus componentes para añadir diversos elementos tengo varias cosas a decir. Para empezar la calidad de los bujes de la rueda trasera son de calidad desconocida por no decir mala. El cassette de cambios baila de forma sutil pero aplicando una tensión innecesaria a la cadena. Actualizarlo con un buje trasero Shimano Deore a tenido que ser la solución con el sobrecoste asociado y poner un adaptador para el freno de 6 agujeros que lleva. Los elementos del eje central son de calidad pésima, de plástico, y su actualización también ha sido necesaria. He reemplazado la potencia por una más alta, el manillar por uno más ancho y el sillín por un más grande. Al final, creo que lo único que mantendré de esta bici será el cuadro, los portaequipajes trasero y delantero, el buje delantero shimano, la iluminación y los frenos. Si pudiera escoger comprar sólo estos elementos y devolver el resto, lo haría.

Très bon vélo, leger facile à monter trois étage pour le rentrer. Les freins à disque fonctionne numéro un.

Petit avis après avoir fait un voyage de 800km, ce qui me permet d'être assez objectif sur le vélo. Ce vélo est l'équivalent d'un poids lourd pour les cycles, en particulier avec les sacoches. On se sent prendre de la place et même au démarrage on ressent un peu le poids du vélo donc il ne faut pas oublier de baisser ses vitesses lorsqu'on va s'arrêter si on veut un départ plus simple. En revanche, ça procure un avantage que certains peuvent apprécier, il est extrêmement stable, même sur une descente à 65km/h ; les freins à disques sont d'ailleurs très appréciés sur ce genre de situation. La selle est plutôt confortable, un pad pour plus de confort peut se rajouter (il faut faire attention à la taille de la selle qui est énorme). Les pneus sont robustes, je ne les ai pas changés et ils apportent le sentiment qu'on peut aller n'importe où avec, je n'ai pas crever une seule fois et il est rarement nécessaire de les regonfler. Le moyeu dynamo fait le travail, j'ai rajouté un chargeur usb dessus (Cycle2charge) qui rempli 50% de la batterie de mon smartphone Le porte bagage arrière fait le travail, compatible avec la plupart des sacoches (dont ortlieb), les doubles barres en haut sont pratique pour y fixer des tendeurs et mettre la tente au dessus des sacoches. La béquille en plus fait le travail également, elle est robuste et pas très cher. Le nombre d'inserts sur le cadre c'est top pour y placer les gourdes de 950ml d'eau, même sous le cadre ça passe sans gêner la rotation de la fourche. Maintenant, passons aux défauts, qui sont loin d'être négligeable et dont certains auraient pu être évités : Le porte bagage avant est solide, ne coûte pas très cher, mais à un défaut : une pièce métallique bloque l'angle de l'éclairage, ce qui m'empêche de l'orienté comme je veux et je ne comprends pas l'intérêt d'avoir fait ça. En outre, la fixation de la lampe est mauvaise, j'ai eu beau la serrée, elle finit par se desserrer toute seule. La lampe fournie est médiocre. Elle n'est pas fixe mais clignote (pourquoi ? quel intérêt ?) et n'éclaire RIEN DU TOUT. C'est super dangereux surtout sur un vélo qui n'est pas destiné à rouler en dehors des villes ! Autant ne rien fournir et demander à acheter une bonne lampe en plus! En revanche la lampe arrière est fixe, reste allumée à l'arrêt et éclaire bien. Pour l'installation de la lampe sur le porte bagage avant, l'installation a été simplifiée à ce que je vois donc ils ont été réceptifs aux retours, ce qui est cool Le mono plateau personnellement je n'en suis pas fan du tout, je préfère largement les 3 plateaux de mon autre vélo qui offrent plus de possibilités. Avec le mono plateau je ressens régulièrement que je ne trouve pas de vitesse adaptée au rythme que je veux tenir. J'ai connu des guidons plus confortable, mais ça dépend de chacun j'imagine Les pédales étaient en plastique à l'époque, j'espère qu'ils les ont changées car c'est aberrant. Je recommande uniquement si vous aimez le mono plateau
