Much heavier than the best kids bikes

This bike weighs over 9kg - whereas the best kids bikes weigh under 6kg. The extra weight makes it more difficult for your child to cycle and equally important, more heavy for you to carry if your child decides to walk for a bit....

Brilliant bike.

Brakes are so easy to use for the age recomended for the bike. Very well built. Stand and bell included. Great purchase and sure will last years

Great early bike

Despite being under 4 yrs old the brake levers were carefully designed to be reachable for little fingers and usable without difficulty. Build is solid and finish is good. Tyres are robust, with all terrain grip and the lights and bell add some safety. The stand is secure and helps keep paintwork in good condition. A bike that can be adjusted more than most for a growing child, so should last a good few years. The matching gloves available in 2 sizes are small - definitely try before you buy if you can, and the matching orange horn ...? The less said about it the better (strangled duck sound).

Very good 1st bike

Got it for my 4 year old. His 1st bike.. he loves it. The guys at the shop were very good to assemble with rt height. Only drawback, some time the wheel get stuck in sand so need to push it.. think some issues with tyre grip, second there were no colour matching side wheels .. so very minor issues.. would give it 4.5

Unsafe brakes

I bought this bike for my 5 year olds birthday last September. Later that day the front brake came out of the holder. I returned it to the store where I was told that the handlebars had got twisted around and made the brake come out of the holder. The mechanic fixed and tightened it and I took the bike home. The brakes have continued to come out of the holders despite me tightening them several times. I have even tried tying the cables together but the brake has still come out. Why can the handlebars turn all around if it causes the brakes to come out of the holders making the brakes not work? This seems like a safety issue. I cannot even find if I am still eligible for a refund.

Excellent bike, very pleased

After a disappointing experience with Argos bikes, me my son and my mum went to decathlon store in Manchester to have a look at bikes for my 6 year old son for his birthday. My son fell in love with 500 robot kids bike. We've bought the bike fully assembled, it was tested and I had one very happy little boy. He's never off that bike and now wants to take it to school. Well worth the buy. Decathlon are excellent, great customer services and good quality for money.

Bought this bike three weeks ago for my 6yr old's birthday - from day one we've had problems with the brakes, the front brake cable keeps coming out of the 'holder' and now they are not working at all. I believe other customer have had similar issues too.

Btwin kids bike

Brought this bike for my 5 year old and the day after the cable for the breaks became loose and kept detaching, leaving it unable to work! Despite tightening it continued to detach. Very disappointed.

I'm sorry to read that there is an issue with your brake cable. It clearly doesn't sound right at all.
Please return it to your local store who will examine the brakes and either rectify the fault or provide you with a new bike.

Value for money

We buy it a week ago. Our boy is so happy. Its has strong and good quality material. Beautiful design as well. Best thing is that its come out with bells and front and back lights and you don't have to pay extra. If its your child first bike, must buy Training Wheels , its not expensive and very easy to remove or put them back. Most important always check your child height not age for correct size, it will make huge difference if you buy 18-inch instead of 16-inch.
