After being cooped up all spring I was excited to get out on the water on my new SUP. I selected Decathlon's 10' Itiwit beginner SUP for it's price and design, even though I was unfamiliar with the brand. Pros: The board itself seems to be well made and sets up/ breaks down easily. Cons: No SUP pumps were available at the time I purchased my board. Other inflatable Itiwit pumps were not compatible with my product and I was told by customer support that off brand pumps would not work on this board. Customer service did send me a pump a month later, which did inflate the board - thank you. I finally was able to take my board out to the beach on a sunny afternoon, only to have the removable fin and fin casing break before getting situated in the water. When I went back to Decathlon's site, you guessed it - no replacement fins were available for months. EU and UK stores had fins in stock but the representative I spoke with was unable to have the fin transferred. Reps were attentive and tried to help during this process but in the end, I've still not been able to use my board and the summer is over. Takeaway: Don't buy this product unless you have a disposable income, hours to spend with customer service on the phone, a high threshold for frustration and no real plans to ever get out on the water. Decathlon: Don't offer products without enough inventory of essential accessories.
Bought this board more than a month ago, unfurtunately the pump was in back order. And since then, there is absolutely no pump left. So the SUP looks amazing, but i cannot use. It is sad that there is a pump for everything (different valve), as i have a pump fir the itwit kayak and a pump for the tent as well, plus a few pump at home. But none can work as they are different valves :(.
(I am 74kg, 1.78cm) This 10', 32" iSUP performed superbly every day, in still water, currents (and I always struggle in surf). Inflate time (with 2 x 30 second rests) =5.5 mins - so easy (itiwit pump - sold separately). Most impressively, 4.7 inch thickness means more stability - beating so many similarly priced iSUPs. 9yo, 12yo, 14yo all handled board well. The fin is sturdy - not close to falling out (buy a spare - $19). Also - buy a coiled ankle/knee strap - included non-coiled strap trails in the water, and does actually impede performance. After one week daily use - solid build, no hint of damage, and peeling, no nothing. Weight not too bad compared with other iSUPs. Paddled with my 40kg daughter on the front - still managed just fine. Itiwit pump is a slightly awkward fit in the backpack - but it does fit (collapsible handles on pump would be help pls Decathlon)
Only drawback is it’s length to carry, otherwise perfect.
This is a great beginner SUP board and our second Decathlon SUP. We bought it as a beginner board for the kids to use. We have been impressed with the build quality and value for money. While advertised as a beginner touring board we are finding that the board glides thru the water well and is very responsive compared to other more expensive branded SUP boards we own.
Great board, but disappointing that it didn’t come with pump or paddle. Bought one (slightly bigger) from another store which came with everything needed and was same price as this one
Love it so much, I use it everydays since I bought it.
Good SUP, especially if you already have a SUP paddle. I would prefer a leash that curls up rather than a simply straight leash that drags in the water.
