Product Customer Reviews

I have been with these booths for over a year now. They are definitely sturdy, but have found that the lace hooks are prone to catch the laces from the opposite boot. I have experienced this without major issues in multiple occasions until they finally made me fall hard to the ground.

The design of the lower sole is narrow to the foot ... It was possible to complete the flow of the sole so that it is comprehensive in the foot so as not to injure the ankle or not be subjected to flexion, which leads to a rupture of the ankle ligaments
I walking with my dog every day few miles. I had use this boots now for three years. From my options I never had better boots.
When purchased they seemed a good solid well-made boot. I got them as I couldn’t really stretch to £300 for Scarpa Manta Pro GRX of which a I have a pair which have lasted 12 years. Tried them around the house a few times and seemed to be still ok. They were sent for modification of the sole due to arthritis in my feet and I was really looking forward to getting them back. Within 5 times of wearing, the lining around the heel had worn through. Not only that but underneath was cheap cardboard like material and it was lumpy and hurt my heels. I have done a temp repair using chiropodist moleskin tape covered over with duct tape. Still uncomfortable and very unsightly. Been told by the local boot repair shop it’ll cost approx £35 to sort out and then it’s not guaranteed to work. I note on a reply to another review, a replacement is currently being designed and this sort of feedback is too. I would disagree. Making these sort of boots has been going on for years so to make such a bad pair and charge £100 for them is criminal. Sadly I can’t return mine because they have been modified. Lesson learned. Buy named boots from reputable dealers. Don’t try to save money for the sake of it. I managed to source a pair of Manta Pros for £165 and, after sole mods, they are substantially better and more comfortable.
Solid boot however after having worn them on a number of occasions the boot continues to rub again the heel and top of my foot. Other boots I've had of a similar makeup up have not caused any uncomfortable feeling. I was hoping they would most need breaking in, but they continue to cause problems. I cannot walk far in these and can no longer use them.
Hi, thank you for taking the time review our Trek 700 Mountain Trekking Boots.
I'm sorry to hear that you had an bad experience with this product, for sure they are not the most forgiving pair of boots. We are currently developing the replacement for this model, and feedback such as yours is extremely helpful in making our products as user friendly and functional as possible.
Thanks again for your feedback.

I have had thes boots for nearly 3 yrs. I didnt purchase them for hiking, but for work. I work as an abseiler and I'm out in all weather conditions. The boots provided me with all day comfort ( which is a must as I'm working in them). They have a sturdy feel and and can't fault them. The waterproofing of these boots have been top notch. They easily stand up to my previous mammut boots. These boots are easily worth the price tag. All my work colleagues have since purchased the same with no complaints.
Previously had a pair of the stitched boots in this style (orange Forclaz 800?). They lasted me nine years. Bought this pair six months ago and where the boots are glued together on the side they are coming unstuck, in several places.
I bought these boots 18 months ago. At first they felt uncomfortable as I could feel the tread on my feet. The boots are narrow which suits my feet. It took me around 3 months to break them in, wearing them every day. Now after 18 months of daily use the boots are still in good condition, although as to be expected the tread has worn down. I have never had wet feet through the beast from the east or the English summer. The boot laces are still the original ones normally I get through a pair every 2 months due to the eyelets on other boots cutting them. I keep looking to make sure I can get another pair when needed.
Having booked a holiday in Ireland I needed some tough waterproof boots, as I had split the sole on my old pair. I have previously brought Decathlon’s excellent cycling clothing I was expecting a similar level of value for money and performance. In the shop I was immediately impressed by the look and fit of these boots. They felt like an extension of my body, a bit like growing hooves. I felt like I would be able to negotiate rough terrain like a goat. I broke them in carefully over a long period. I wore them for work and twice walked the 4 miles home. My holiday involved daily walks of about 15 miles through some rough terrain. I found that contrary to my initial expectations the boots felt too heavy and too inflexible. After a couple of days, I developed painful blisters on the back of both feet. The fourth day of the Holiday was wet. I very surprised to find that after a couple of hours my feet were starting to feel wet. By the end of the day my feet were soaked. My friends with lighter boots also had wet feet, but not as wet as mine. In contrast to mine, their boots dried overnight, whilst I had to soldier on with wet boots until the end of the week. I returned the damp, muddy boots to Decathlon the following weekend, and was surprised but very pleased to be given a no questions asked, full refund.
Though I have only had these boots for three weeks I have worn them every day in wet and arduous terrain. They are lightweight and robust with great ankle support and grip. The lace locking capability at the ankle is very useful when adjusting for fit and the velcro support strap ensures security around the foot. They are a little inflexible at first, but took only a couple of days to become very flexible. The sizing does come a little small - I am usually a 6UK and needed a 6.5UK.
I used it till Duhangan Col(Summit Camp) for Mt deo tibba(6001m) expedition. So I had used it on normal trek, wetlands, snow, frozen River, Ice and rock climbing. I had faced all the mountaineering features and it provided the best output. Grip, wormth, strength, etc.
Awsum Ultimate
This shoe does not fit well, it's too compact and heavy for high altitude trekking.

Worked very well in tough conditions. Hey will last and age well. Water proof as well. Highly recommended, from a tough customer
I purchased these shoes in preparation for a trek in April 2018. The Pangarchulla Peak trek was a snow trek, and our group spent over 12 hours walking on snow. While of course we used mini spikes for the snow, my socks never got wet. The waterproof quality is really important in any trekking shoe, and this one works perfect. Besides, the ankle support is fantastic, and I find them so comfy that they are my default shoes for casual wear. Totally worth the price.

Footwear waterproofing test
These boots, which have been laboratory and field tested, are equipped with a waterproof membrane that provides optimum waterproofing and breathability. First, the boot is immersed in water while the air pressure inside is increased to check that no bubbles form on the surface. Next, the boots are fitted to a mechanical arm that simulates walking and half-immersed in water so we can test that the inside remains perfectly dry.
3 levels of waterproofing
During the impermeability test, we test 3 levels of waterproofing: 2000 flexes (about 2.5-mile walk), 4000 flexes (about 5-mile walk) 8000 flexes (about 10-mile walk). Of course, after this test or in use, the boot regains its original waterproofing once dry.
Footwear waterproofing rating
The TREK 700 boot has passed the waterproofing test involving 8000 flexes, i.e. 10 miles of walking in water up to the middle of the upper.
Laboratory tests
Laboratory tests were conducted to test the following elements: - secure attachment of eyelets and hooks - gluing of the sole - toxicology - UV resistance - abrasion of the sole and upper components - accelerated aging.
Care instructions
Use a brush and/or sponge to clean the boot and remove dirt or mud residue. Then, leave to air-dry away from a heat source. Finish by spraying the upper with a waterproof spray to maintain the water-repellent properties and prolong the lifespan of the boot.
Buying tips
Try on both boots, while standing up, with the socks worn for hiking. Try on several models and several sizes if required. Check 2 comfort points: the base of the heel (the heel should not lift or very little) and the forefoot when going downhill (the toes should not touch the front of the boot). Avoid any pressure points when fitting. Don't hesitate to walk around the store. Gradually wear in your boots during your first few hikes so that they conform to your feet.
Manufacture
TREK 100 leather boots are made in the European Union, in Romania, in a factory that specialists in the production of backpacking boots. This factory exclusively uses water-based glue, without chemical solvents. Most materials are sourced in the European Union.
Re-soling
When the rubber sole is too worn and no longer provides the grip and traction it should, you can have the boot re-soled. To do so, go to your nearest Decathlon store or nearby shoemaker.
