Product Customer Reviews

Buy a pair of extra thick socks too!
hey i am a kid that has hiked more den 150 km in these boots and the fit rellly god but you can see theam wearing down. so i am going to get a new pair becuse they are relly god for the price and when i am still growing they are perfect,
These leather boots replaced a special comfortable pair of boots bought in the Lake District and used for 30 years. I have bought others from other shops but they only lasted for a couple of months. These Trek500 leather boots ARE ABSOLUTELY PERFECT. They were a snug fit when I first got them and within a few weeks of wearing them on an off they fit perfectly are very comfortable. At last Ive found a true replacement to my old faithful boots. I would say these boots are my best purchase. I definitely recommend these boots.
Feet get went in them
Really nice tough boots that are very comfortable when broken in properly. I have been super happy with them. However after two years of moderate hiking the grip is getting low and one of the eyelets is starting to come out. So I am very sad as they are now super comfy. Good boots for the money.
Pair#2.5. Loved these boots. Blew a hook but replaced them with no drama. Wore one pair flat and bought another. Current pair are now smooth on the bottom from urban walking. But still comfortable breathable and waterproof. Amazing value. If only they were resolable.
I bought these boots less than a year ago and they have been fantastic. Comfy from the first wear, breaking in not required. Fully waterproof. I took care of them at the start, used nikwax aqueous wax etc but have not done so for the last 6 months and they look beautifully weathered but NO leaking whatsoever, fully waterproof. They could do with a new pair of laces though! I wear them daily walking the dog and also hike frequently in the Mourne Mountains which are granite and harsh and they have stood up to it all. HOWEVER, the fab grippy sole is now totally worn down and now grippy in mud so I am going to get a new pair. If you work out the cost per wear they are well worth it and look a lot better than other boots at double the price. My last pair of boots, meindl Burma pro were as comfy but MUCH heavier and the sole fell off after 3 years! I will keep buying these, the only sacrifice is the sole wear. If you were in only softer muddy terrain and not so much paths and asphalt they would last a long time. Well done decathlon.
A very good pair of boots.
Excellent boots at a very reasonable price.
My husband bought these to do a 32 mile charity walk and his feet were shredded by the end of it. He bought a size larger as recommended in store and wore gel insoles but said there was no cushioning around the heel and sole and even walking them in for 3 weeks before hand didn't break them in as the material is so tough. He has an even bigger walk to do at the end of the month and putting these shoes on is filling him with dread. Not what we expected for a £70 pair of boots.
Just taken delivery of my 2nd pair of these boots, due to wearing out previous ones. Over about a 15 year period I've tried sooo many different manufactures of boots, ranging from expensive to entry level. Leather and fabric all of which have failed miserably, they all split on the crease across the top of the toes. This boot didn't. just the tread has worn away making them not suitable for hill walking. The boots lasted me over 2 years and in the region of 2,500 walking miles over rugged terrain + beach and salt water. Think I only treated them a couple of times to a wash/polish/water repelant and still waterproof. Really comfy and light weight these boots are the real deal and at an amazing price, lets hope the 2nd pair live up to pair 1.
So far so good , I’ve worn them a lot during the bad weather of late , they are comfortable, weather proof highly recommended
I have owned these boots for almost 18 months and I must say they are very comfortable. However this weekend I went up Mount Snowden only to find the rain had penetrated the boot, so I was walking with wet feet in snow conditions, not a pleasant experience. Having double checked the specs of the boot, it confirms it is waterproof and comes with a 2 year guarantee. However as I've owned the boots for 18 months now I do not have the receipt. Having called the store where I purchased the boots from, they advised without the receipt they were not willing to do anything. I offered to show proof of purchase via a bank statement of which they reiterated without the receipt nothing would happen. Very disappointed with the quality of the boot and now the customer service. I'm due to go to Iceland tomorrow and now in a position where I have to buy another pair of boots. Prior to this weekends experience these boots would have scored a 5* rating.

Didn't even manage to leave the house, pulled out while doing up the laces
Thank you for your review of the Quechua Trek 500 boot. We are sorry to hear that the quality did not meet the requirements. As with all Quechua products we offer a two year warranty. I would recommend exchanging these at your local Decathlon. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

I walk my German Shepherd dogs on the surrounding hills for 3 to 5 Miles everyday and I have spent hundreds if not thousands of pounds over the years on waterproof boots, from top brand names to the less well known. To-date there is not one brand that In my experience has met the criteria of being “waterproof and breathable.” These boots have a robust feel, the eyelets are functional and the leather is firm without being too hard. I am a little concerned that the soles are quite rigid and might not provide much grip on stone. The first wear was for a gentle 3 miles and no blisters. Time will tell whether these will be the boots to end my search.

Footwear waterproofing test.
These boots, which have been laboratory and field tested, are equipped with a waterproof membrane that provides optimum waterproofing and breathability. First, the boot is immersed in water while internal air pressure is applied to check that no bubbles form on the surface of the footwear. Next, the boots are fitted to a mechanical arm that simulates walking and half-immersed in water so we can test that the inside remains perfectly dry.
3 levels of waterproofing.
In the impermeability test, we test 3 levels of waterproofing: 2000 flexes (about 2.5-mile walk), 4000 flexes (about 5-mile walk) 8000 flexes (about 10-mile walk). Of course, after this test or in use, the boot regains its original waterproofing once dry.
Footwear waterproof rating.
The TREK 500 boot has been tested and validated for 8000 flexes, equivalent to a 10-mile walk, in water reaching the middle of the upper.
Laboratory tests
Laboratory tests were conducted to test the following elements: - secure fastening of eyelets and hooks - sole assembly - toxicology - UV resistance - abrasion of the sole and upper components - accelerated aging.
Care instructions
Use a brush and/or sponge to clean the boot and remove dirt or mud residue. Then, air-dry away from any heat source. Finish with a nourishing cream to keep the leather nice and flexible and prolong the lifespan of the boot.
Buying tips
Try on both shoes, while standing up, with socks worn for hiking. Try several models and sizes if necessary. Check 2 comfort points: the heel seating and the front of the foot on a downward slope. Avoid all pressure points when trying them on. Don't hesitate to walk around the store. Gradually wear in your boots during your first few hikes so that they conform to your feet.
Manufacturing
Trek 500 boots are made in the European Union, in Romania. Most of the materials are of European origin.

Imported
Product testing
All of our boots are tested for initial comfort and comfort during use, by users who represent the target market, and under the same conditions as you would encounter in use. In particular, our "Mission Tests" bring together the product manager with people who aren't affiliated with QUECHUA to test, improve and validate our products.
Storage instructions
Store in a dark, dry and well-ventilated place.
Care instructions
Use the brush and/or sponge to clean the shoe and remove dirt or mud residue. Always brush in the same direction to give nubuck its original look. The use of cream or waterproof grease on split leather is not recommended. This is not problematic in itself, but it would change the shoe's esthetic look.
