The closures are difficult to put in place when the pants have been completely undone. Perhaps a little larger sliders would make things easier. I doubt the longevity of the pants because of these big black dots. A real point of improvement in my opinion to have a top garment. Too bad because the concept is very practical and well thought out.
👌
Super practical to be able to put it in to remove the shoes, but disappointed by the cut. Indeed, it is too tight at the thighs and above the knees, which hinders freedom of movement uphill, while the hips are very wide. And yet I have hips! P I tried the top size but swam in it at the hips and waist, and the gain at the lower thighs was meager. The fit of the MH500 model is better, but it is less practical to put on in the rain without removing the shoes. I recommend for donning but not for freedom of movement.
Waterproof and breathable.
There are zippers at the top and bottom of the side, which can be pulled up and can be worn with rain pants when wearing shoes. Wearing rain pants with pants, the size of 44 L is slightly large but very comfortable.
I bought the pants about 2 years ago. It is really practical thanks to the continuous two-way zip and the elastic waistband with drawstring. Quickly putting on on the go when a rain front approaches is doable even with heavy hiking boots without taking them off. That's really relieving. The freedom of movement is always given by the great shape of the legs. I found the hook on the lower leg hem particularly useful, which you hook into the laces at the front like a gaiter. This way the trouser leg always has a good fit, does not slip up accidentally and water does not run into the boot/shoe. Unfortunately, they gave up their service as rain pants yesterday during a hike of about 2 hours in heavy rain. The sides that were exposed to the wind let water through so I ended up soaking from multiple sides. A pity. I would have expected more from pants in this price category.
For the price of this product, I’d expect complete protection, even with heavy rain. I’ve gone through extreme heavy rain for 45 minutes and there was significant leak under the legs, so I thought: maybe I’d give it a go, because it was indeed very heavy rain. Today I’ve tested again, through moderate rain, again 45 minutes and I could feel my legs getting increasingly wet. Turns out, my crotch area got completely wet. I’ve gone through a fair few of cycling overtrousers over the years, usually reasonably cheap ones. Having finally decided to spend this amount on something that could properly protect was an unfortunate disappointment. Will definitely return, even though it was used. Hopefully Decathlon will accept.
Tested and approved during my stay in Iceland
I changed my mind when I saw the weather forecast for my 3-week trek this summer in Norway (10°C, rain and wind) and I chose this model. Its big plus is that it's super practical to put it on and take it off, even with a 50 L bag on your back and shoes covered in slush. It fits the shape of the shoes well and kept my feet dry in really bad weather conditions. It came out with a few scrapes but no tears from my many slips and butt grabs in the rocks. I'm really not disappointed.
the pants are perfect and keep their promises.
Used intensively in Iceland with very heavy rain and for hours. Result: not once did the leggings get wet! The integral zippers along the legs are really very practical to be able to put on the pants without taking off the shoes.
Quick purchase in addition to ward off the rain. Could be unisex
These pants are truly waterproof. to use it on a bike when it's raining, I'm not wet at all. I recommand it.
Super satisfied, nothing to be desired. Thanks to the small hook at the end of the trouser leg, the trousers do not slip up. Top goes for all types of hiking shoes (also tried with sneakers). But rather not advisable because certain sneakers have too thin laces.
he saved my three days under the fleet and the mistrals in the Alps in October

Additional Product Information
Composition
Main fabric: 100.0% Polyamide ; Outer fabric: 100.0% Polyester ; Yoke: 100.0% Polyamide ; Coating: 100.0% Polyurethane
Hybrid structure
Combination of a durable and protective fabric (147g/m2; 70 Denier) on areas to be protected from rubbing (knees, lower leg, buttocks) and a light and breathable fabric (109 g/sqm; 20 Denier) elsewhere.
Side zips
Use of a waterproof zip with a double slider to both regulate body temperature and easily put the over-trousers on without the need to remove boots.Press-studs at the waist and ankles.
Protection
Bottom of trouser leg has an elastic strip with silicone inside to improve grip on the boot.Lower leg hook to attach to the laces of the boot to prevent the over-trousers from riding up while walking.
Water resistance of the fabric
The water resistance of a fabric, provided by a coating or a membrane, is measured using the Schmerber rating or millimetres of water (pressure exerted by a column of water). The higher this rating is, the more waterproof a material is. This jacket has two waterproof components (norm JIS L 1092):- The main component is very waterproof. It is resistant to 25,000 mm of water (Schmerber rating) before washing- The secondary component is at thigh level and is resistant to 25,000 mm of water (Schmerber rating) before washing
Water resistance of the over-trousers
A jacket’s water resistance is not only determined by its components: The technique that is used to assemble the different parts is also an evaluation criterion.Whether it is ironed or sewn and then made waterproof, the overall water resistance of your jacket is measured using a shower test developed by Decathlon, which simulates rainfall of different intensities. So, these MT500 waterproof overtrousers protect you from a rainstorm in the mountains, that is 450 litres of water /m²/h for 4 hours.
Fabric breathability
To assess the breathability of the fabric, the evaporative resistance, RET (test based on the ISO 11092 standard), is measured. The lower the fabric's resistance, the more water vapour generated by physical activity evaporates, and the higher the fabric's breathability. It is considered that if: * RET < 9 = very breathable fabric* 9 < RET < 12 = breathable fabricHere are the breathability values of the Trek 700 over-trousersRET < 8 for the lightest fabricRET < 12 for the most resistant fabric
Information about water-repellent properties and how to reactivate them.
A fabric's water repellent property is its capacity to make water run off of its surface without seeping in.This prevents your product from soaking up water, and keeps it lightweight and breathable. The fabric is made water-repellent by treating its outer surface, however this property may deteriorate with use.The water-repellent properties can be reactivated by warming the jacket in a tumble dryer on a low heat for 10 minutes. You can also use the FORCLAZ re-waterproofing spray (ref 855490)
