Bike rack

Rack is good but was difficult to fit on the Bike due the rear brake set up .

After over two months with some use in wet weather, I started seeing rust forming on the nuts and bolts so I unscrewed them to find rust inside. Although minor, I had to spend a whole day cleaning it with tinfoil and vinegar and then applying lithium grease onto the threads and connection joints. If there were instructions specifying this, it may have been avoided. Also, you may have to bend certain parts slightly such as the 4 nuts connecting to the frame. Overall, a good handy rack, I pair it with a BTWIN waterproof 20L pannier bag on my Riverside 120. A lot more comfortable than having a backpack.

Doesn't fit my bike...

I was very excited to add a bike rack (and basket) to my old bike, but it doesn't work on frames without inserts on the rear stays. Bummer. Otherwise looks well made, especially for such a low price.

Fitted my genesis bike

Fitted my bike perfectly

Gave up

Bought it a fair few months ago, had time to put it on my bike today... just couldn't get it to fit at all with the screws. They just would not tighten up and could not get the top part to attach to my bike... was also missing some of the screws it said came in the pack, stupidly I did it in the garden and ended up losing a screw. Gave up after an hour.

bad fit

Purchased this item 2 days ago in Poole Decathlon asking the vendor if this would fit the Triban 100 Flanders and it was positive. Went to Southampton Decathlon following day to do extra shopping and asked again if this rack would fit the Triban 100 and the vendor was positive. Well it won't because the brakes are in the way and you will not be able to fix the left hand side of rack to frame. I bet they did not think about that when designing a road bike with fittings allowing to add a pannier rack.

Thank you for your feedback regarding this rack. Indeed, fitting racks on to road bikes with caliper brakes can require some fettling. In some cases, only one of the supporting arms is used or if both can be used, some encouragement (bending) may be required to fit both arms.
If you are not happy doing so please feel free to return it to us for a refund or possibly exchange it for this other lighter model may suit your needs as it only has one supporting arm:

Not Good

This is not a solid piece of equipment. I purchased this for my commute and as other reviews have mentioned, the screws started coming loose after about 3 trips to work. I visited my local decathalon about 4 times to get new screws thinking it was user error however it seems that this item is not really fit for purpose. Today after a couple more commutes the pannier finally came unhinged mid cycle messing up my bike and putting me in harms way. I would not buy this item again, sorry Decathalon but this product is no good.

Thank you for taking the time to persevere with this item and to post a review of your experiences with it. I am going to forward this on to the design team as a simple addition of threadlock may be all it needs to hold it firmly in place as I'm sure vibrations from the road will work it loose otherwise.
Please don't hesitate to return it to us for a refund or an exchange if you are not satisfied with the item.

screws came loose

Screws came loose and right connector is now unattached to the rest of the rack. this does not support the weight of a pannier now. I would like to know how to get replacement screws.

Thank you for your questions regarding this rack.
If you contact our customer services team, they will be able to source the correct screws for you.

Doesn't really fit the bike well

Bought this as I wanted a rack and pannier system. Fitted in the shop, but was taking v long, so didn't have time to do inspection before taking the bike home. Clear now that this rack doesn't fit the Riverside 500 - the only way it works leaves the rack sloping forwards, rather than level, which looks odd. Did not get any advice in the shop when I was looking (and one of the rack options was out of stock,

did the job for 5 months, randomly gave way

had it fitted when i purchased my bike (btwin riverside 120), but rarely used it, mainly just to hold a few groceries. after about 5 months, the right side rod seemed to come loose (not sure how, as nothing was loaded on it) and went straight inwards into the cassette (again not sure how, as there was nothing applying pressure inwards), damaging it before i could even realize what happened. not sure if i should get it fixed or replace it with a better one as i just purchased a set of saddle bags in preparation for a camping trip, and this sort of problem would be a disaster on a ride with loaded bags.

Good while it lasted

Used each day on a commute for just over a year, during which time it worked well, though it was slightly rattly as one of the holes for the screws was not drilled correctly. Suddenly one day the metal bar which attaches to the dropout eyelet one one side sheared off, leaving it unusable. Will be buying a heavier duty rack in future, but this product may be fine for lighter or less frequent use.

Seems very solid

A very adjustable pannier rack that went on my ye olde MTB with 26" wheels. The only downside was the packaging, it came wrapped in a plastic bag (which is better I guess than a 6'x6' box that Amazon would have sent however, the light fitting panel got dented in transit - didn't break my heart but would have been annoying if I'd intended to fit a light to it
