Product Customer Reviews
Nothing to report
It is light, it is not rainproof, but when it stays a little too long or it rains a lot, certain areas get a lot of water. It is good for daily use, but I will be going out, camping, cycling, motorcycling etc. I would say look for better quality things. As for the positive aspects, it is very comfortable and has an aesthetic appearance, nice fabric and cut. Very good
Meets expectations
Quite waterproof, a little short at the back
I bought this jacket 6 months ago in August 23 and have been pleased with this jacket. However this morning when I was wearing it and cycling to work, I noticed upon arriving at work that the lower part of the zip has came off. Really disappointed with this as the product has been so far solid. Will be returning this jacket.
Used very briefly but time will tell the throughput. Comfortable to wear
I am very satisfied with this jacket
The jacket has a good elongated shape that covers the back and buttocks.
Satisfied with this product
The jacket is perfect for going out from -5 to +10 degrees. It closes the torso+arms very well and does not let cold air in, the heat stays "inside". It also has the exact width of the collar, not like the more expensive Van rysel jackets, which have a very wide collar and therefore absolutely unusable.
Nothing to say about the comfort, the cut... On the other hand, this jacket is not at all breathable, I have never been so drenched in sweat after an outing. I am very disappointed. I don't think I'll use it anymore.
I bought the jacket years ago and didn't use it much at first because I was mostly on an MTB. Since I've been riding gravel regularly, the jacket has become standard for colder and wet weather. Sits great, holds great, the orange bib at the rear helps if you forget the mudguards. All in all really good.
Great jacket, hi viz feature is useful, pockets good for the extra winter bits I carry, spare gloves, hat etc,
After about 15 or 20 minutes in heavy rain, the water comes through on the arms and after 30 minutes, the inside of the jacket is wet on the chest as well. Good for short trips (
Great jacket with a stylish design. Well waterproof. Breathability is not the best though.

Additional Product Information
Composition
Main fabric: 100.0% Polyester ; Yoke: 100.0% Polyester ; Coating: 100.0% Polyurethane ; Membrane: 100.0% Polyurethane
Fabric waterproofing
A fabric's waterproofing is determined by measuring its resistance to the pressure exerted by a water column, measured in mm (test based on ISO 811 standard). The higher the pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. The RC500 jacket's waterproofing stats: 8,000 mm before washing, 5,000 mm after 5 washes.
Jacket waterproofing
It's not just the fabric that's important for the product's waterproofing; the construction is just as big a deal. The seams on the RC500 are sealed and we have chosen to use the waterproof YKK AquaGuard® zipper.
Fabric breathability (ret)
To determine a fabric's breathability we measure its evaporative resistance or RET (based on standard ISO11092). The lower its resistance, the more it lets water vapor produced by the body escape, therefore the more breathable it is. •RET <6: Extremely breathable, suitable for most intense workouts•RET 6 to 12: Very breathable, designed for moderate exercise•RET 12 to 20: Moderately breathable, not enough for exercise•RET >20: little breathability, unsuitable for exercise
Membrane or coating?
The RC500 jacket's fabric has a membrane. The membrane is a type of very thin micro-perforated plastic film (polyurethane) that makes the fabric both waterproof and breathable. It is also very supple, lighter, more durable and more breathable than a fabric with a coating.A coating is like a layer of paint on the underside of the fabric to make it waterproof. It costs less than a membrane, and requires a lining to protect it.
Fold-up flap
As you know, if the road is wet, it can be very unpleasant getting your shorts covered in spray from the rear wheel. To solve this problem, we've equipped the RC500 jacket with a retractable flap at the base of the back. It can be discreetly folded into the back of the jacket, and is very practical when needed. It goes without saying that adding a mudguard to the rear of your bike adds even more protection against splashes.
Cut
CLASSIC FIT: Fitted and comfortable. This timeless cut is perfect for your longer bike rides, whether in the saddle or having a break. This fit is tighter than our ”Relaxed Fit,” but not as tight as our ”Pro Fit.”
Product testing
Our team of designers and cycling enthusiasts is based in Lille, in northern France, not far from Flanders and its legendary cycling routes. To get this rainproof jacket just right, we tested it all over Flanders throughout the winter: we believe that only by subjecting our products to real world conditions, like the ones you experience on your bike, can we continuously improve them.
