Using this product for almost an year now. .perfect fit and keeps you warm and maintains body temperature
Good product but tight
Wetsuit was good fit and drys quick due to its mm. Great for swimming teachers in water teaching for long periods and also for Lidos. Well worth it and amazing values.
I bought these for my 16 and 18 yr old son. I ordered a small and a medium and they fit perfectly. On our holiday they wore them every day in the sea body boarding and they still look brand new. My only negative is that they smell a bit funky when warm.
I use the wetsuit to train in my local swimming pool/gym as i have a problem spine and the suit keeps me warm.
Best in price
great feel to the suit not restricting at all
Affordable option for men's full body swimwear. Though intended for surfing, using this as a way to swim in winter months in Bangalore. Bought an XL of this for 6ft height. XXL was too loose. The XL should have been a bit taller to fit more comfortably. Chafes a bit at the top at the back of the neck (near the zipper and velcro).
Did a sea swim on Xmas day and needed this to prevent frostbite! and it seemed to work
I'm a dive master and spend a lot of time in the pool. When my old Body Glove Shorty got too tatty I decided to give Decathlon a go. It fits well and keeps me warm while looking after students. Its cost a lot less than the branded shorty's I usually buy.
Good for summer
excellent value 4 money
The first selection criterion when choosing a surfing wetsuit is the water temperature. Water temperature varies according to the location and the time of the year. Systematically make sure that the water temperature at your spot corresponds to the recommended temperature range: Warm water above 68°F. Temperate water between 62 and 72°F. Cold water between 53 and 62°F. Very cold water between 44 and 53°F. Visit the site seatemperature.org to find out the temperature of your spot.
The 2nd criterion to take into account is the length of your sessions. If your sessions last less than an hour, the 100 models will be suitable. For up to 2 hours, opt for the 500 models and for up to 3 hours, the 900 models. Compared to the 100 models, the 500 models will be warmer (and more watertight) and more efficient at reducing fatigue (more freedom of movement) and irritation. The same is true for the 900 models compared with the 500 models. NB: the 900 models are easier to put on.
To make the most of the features of your wetsuit, it is necessary to choose the correct size. A surfing wetsuit should be a very tight fit and there should be no visible folds. When dry, it is perfectly normal to feel like it is too tight, this discomfort disappears as soon as the wetsuit gets wet. If you choose a wetsuit that is too big, folds will appear, you will experience irritation and thermal insulation will be reduced (letting in water). Try it on before you buy it!
By trapping a thin layer of water around the body, a neoprene wetsuit works in two ways: 1. The trapped water gradually warms up; 2. Heat transfer from the body decreases. The wetsuit and the thin covering of water form a layer of insulation.
This Tribord 100 shorty wetsuit is made with genuine neoprene to ensure even better thermal insulation. The neoprene is lined with polyester fabric for added resistance to wear. Neoprene thickness: 1.5 mm. Neoprene is a closed-cell polychloroprene elastomeric foam with trapped nitrogen bubbles that have insulating properties. We test and guarantee the thermal quality of our neoprene materials.
The neck finish has been developed to limit irritation. According to the sensitivity of the wearer, a UV top can be worn under the wetsuit to reduce the risk of irritation. The application of grease (e.g. Vaseline) in friction areas (neck, underarms) is also recommended if wearing the wetsuit for long periods. Make sure the flap is always inside the wetsuit to limit the risk of irritation with the zipper and the neck.
Our zips and fastenings are laboratory tested in order to ensure an optimal lifespan and good resistance to salt water. We have put the zipper at the back of the wetsuit for more comfort during surf sports (when lying down to paddle).
Seamless panels under the arms to limit irritation due to the repetitive paddling movements associated with surf sports.
When we are in the water, we lose more than half of our body heat through our extremities (feet, hands, head). Consequently, here are the recommended accessories: - in warm water and temperate water (>63°F) => neoprene low booties. - in cold water (53 - 62°F): High booties (boots) and gloves. - in very cold water (44 - 53°F): High booties (boots), gloves, hood and hooded top...Find our entire range of neoprene accessories at decathlon.fr
Our wetsuits are designed to meet the needs of the most demanding surfers. Our design choices also make them compatible with other water sports such as kitesurfing, windsurfing, wakeboarding, water skiing, sea wading or SUP (stand up paddle boarding).
Developed and tested by our design teams in Hendaye, France. The components used for this product are laboratory tested to ensure the best possible quality and durability.
