WATERPROOFING
Warning! This backpack is not waterproof on the inside, i.e. the bottom of the backpack does not retain water. Condensation may form on the inside of the bag, in which case, a few drops of water may pass through the seams. Don't worry, this is a rare occurrence and it prevents your food from getting wet.
Product Testing
The European standard EN 12546-2 certifies the performance of the cooler backpack without ice packs. Tests were conducted by an independent laboratory to obtain the standard. These tests involve placing water at 41°F in the cooler, which is then held at an ambient temperature of 90°F. The purpose of this is to measure the time it takes for the water to warm up to 59°F. The measured time for this backpack was 5 hours.
