I was sceptical at first when my kids wanted to buy me a scooter for Father’s Day. Having spent a few hours in the park all I can say is WOW! Should’ve got one years ago, and not only for fun but use it now to pop to the shops for a few bits and pieces- damn site cheeper than taking the car and great exercise.
I was advised in Decathlon the Oxelo Town 7XL would be perfect for everyday commute to drop my daughter to school with the add on child step. This scooter has 0% break when the road is slightly wet or even damp so me & my child have had so many skids and near accidents when trying to use this for commute I've had to stop taking her as its too dangerous. London is a rainy city so it is not safe to use half the time. Also when buying I asked how long it should last and was told as long as I change the tires every 6/12 months (depending on use) then it should last me many years. After 6 months the wheels are fine from use but the breaks are not working properly & I was told I have to buy a part and pay to have it fixed & the scooter makes a rattling noise & I was told I need to buy another part to have it repaired and its just from standard use. Manager didn't help and staff not very helpful. Just trying to make more money and said obviously breaks don't work at all when the floors wet. Would not recommend this scooter to use if you intend to use it in a rainy city, or if you need it for more than 5/6 months. Has a mudguard for rain but not safe to use in rain.
Basically good items for us. However if it is possible to reduce the weights, it’s would be better.

Been on it a few times so far it's been good, plus my son likes it.
For my birthday this year in May I've been accompanying my son to school for a while on his scooter and find it difficult on my bike getting off slowing down etc. This is a lot of fun and a lot of people use scooters in Spain and Portugal where I've been on holiday so usually electric. I like the push scooter as it's a really good workout it's Little Lever with burning thighs the first few times as you're pushing up and down on one leg for most of the journey the item is useful because it has a stand suspension it looks very nice and is foldable it also has a front brake. However this doesn't seem to do anything and I usually slow down with my foot or use the back wheel brake or just hop off. I've forgotten how much fun a scooter was and I definitely recommend it I don't know why decathlon don't sell the bottle holders and elasticated bells that micro scooter sell at high prices. I'm looking into getting these off other websites The ride is quite smooth but over certain surfaces like tile Retail Park pavements I prefer to get off and walk as it's too bumpy but this would apply to any scooter with solid wheels Other issues are the metal undercarriage scrapes along any kerbs or bumps if you don't lift it carefully and there's no protection underneath. Secondly the folding mechanism is quick once you get the hang of it but I couldn't do it for a couple of days it's best to try it in the shop and get the hang of it you have to put your foot down on the footplate and wiggle the handlebars forwards and backwards. the trick is to undo the lever to make this easier but remember to replace it after unfolding again. Overall I recommend this scooter and I'm very pleased with the Ivory colour I think black and white looks very smart I wear a matching black and white rucksack but if you have problems folding the scooter there is a more expensive model with an easier folding mechanism but it weighs more
My tall 10 year old loves this scooter. She didn’t want a bike anymore when she saw this . Well made and adjustable to size from child to adult. Should last for years. Really pleased.
This scooter is great if you keep it unfolded and don’t need to take it on public transport. The brakes are brilliant and it’s very smooth. However it’s a nightmare to carry around and take on public transport because it twists and isn’t easy to put on the ground without it falling over. It’s a very very heavy scooter and it’s huge to carry (especially if you’re fairly petite like me). I’ve used it for 3 days and the metal part of the carry strap has broken on both sides. Hoping I can get a refund or replace it quickly but it isn’t good quality
Good product and services
I decided for my 24th birthday I’d finally buy an adult scooter after seeing people commuting around London on them a couple years back when I was a student. The first day I used the scooter I was nervous but soon after I began using the scooter for whatever reason I could find. I have used this scooter almost everyday since I got it - I work at my local supermarket so have been scooting there and back. I also like to scoot around my local park with earphones in as a bit of a workout and for the pure fun of it. I even made a playlist just for scooting. My mum is happy too because i’m now eager to scoot down to the shops with an empty backpack to get the milk or fetch us dinner from the fish and chip shop - it saves her a job! Overall, the scooter is well built. The folding mechanism took me a while to get used to but i’m alright with it now. I got the mint green/blue colour and a matching helmet also from decathlon. I’m 24, and I recommend you buy this product. Nothing beats the wind in your face as you scoot downhill listening to your favourite music, whatever your age it’s worth it for the fun.
Light and easy to travel with on public transport. The wheels make it a smooth ride and it’s a great way to get to further places. Also adds to my steps for the day.
For the good: the ship in High Street Kensington prepared it for me & took it home, folded. For the bad: thee folding system was horrendous. Arrived home, unlocked it. It was impossible to fold it back, so it's useless to me. Tried again & again to fold it, hurting my fingers. Impossible. Brought it to the Uxbridge shop. The guy at the till couldn't fold it either and thought it was faulty. The guy in High Street Kensington shop could fold it. I was so disappointed by it, I don't want a scooter anymore. The ones with the easier folding system Town9 are too heavy and doesn't have the area that allows you to put a lock through to lock away when in town, and have nothing to carry over shoulder. Need to get better at them!
Really pleased with my scooter. Its easy to fold and easy to use. It is good quality and nicely put together. Best of all, it allows me to keep up with my kids! Its amazing how quickly you can get places when you're all scooting. I love it!

You should always wear protective equipment (helmet, knee pads and elbow pads) when scootering. Most serious accidents take place during the first few months of use: Take the time to learn the basics of use to master speed and braking in any emergency situation and whatever the weather conditions (particularly on wet terrain).
We have equipped this adult scooter with large 200 mm high bounce PU rubber wheels. This makes it ideal for any journey. A large wheel makes it easier to build up speed with minimum effort. The ABEC 5 bearings are very high quality to limit the amount you have to push yourself along, as well as limiting fatigue.
The wheels and bearings are wearing parts. Remember to check them and change them if necessary. You can repair and extend the lifespan of your scooter with spare parts that can be ordered through your local Decathlon store's Workshop.
To meet your needs and provide maximum user comfort, the Town 7 XL is equipped with two suspension systems: one at the front and one at the rear. These suspension systems greatly reduce the discomfort caused by uneven roads or pavements.
The Town 7 XL scooter from Oxelo has a brake on the handlebar and a second brake on the back wheel. This second brake comes in the form of a long mudguard that covers much of the wheel.
We recommend checking your scooter before and after each ride to ensure that there is no abnormal play and no cracks or sharp edges. The wheels and bearings are wearing parts. Remember to check them and change them if necessary.
What with bumps in the road, repeated jarring and vibrations, it's normal for certain parts to come loose. You can have all of the screws tightened at your local decathlon workshop or do so yourself with the Allen keys provided (designed to fit all of the scooter's parts).
All of our scooters have been lab tested. These tests validate their compliance with the European standards for scooters, as well as their resistance to wear. as well as lab tests we do field tests - some measured and others based on the testers' opinions - to really put the product through its paces. The result is a tested, proven product.
This scooter complies with the European standard for sport scooters EN14619.
Store in a dry place out of the sun.
