I love going for beautiful snowshoe hikes and even a little jog through it all! It's a good product.

to recommend

...for, in my case, a day trip in the Ötztal with a blanket of snow (knee-deep above my thumb). It was my first tour with snowshoes and I was pleasantly surprised. You still sink in, but much less and the running behavior is significantly less restricted than I had imagined. SO I walked for almost 7 hours with the snowshoes without any problems. The grip in the snow and ice was great. I would have liked a little more grip here and there on a slope. Putting them on and taking them off was great, although the area in which you place your own shoes and fix them with Velcro is very generous. In my case, my hiking boots were apparently too small (size 43). This meant that a large part of the Velcro strip could not be used. I only had to tighten it once when too much ice and snow got stuck in the Velcro surface. The attachment to the backpack went through the two holes at the front and was easy. All in all, the snowshoes paid off for me.

Great product I rediscovered...

Great product, I rediscovered snowshoeing much more pleasant. I haven't tested it in very high mountains or on glaciers. Small flat on the fasteners but easily interchangeable so I will provide a spare set in my bag

Dangerous!

While I'm a big fan of decathlon products, I don't recommend these racquets. I had a big scare because the snowshoe does not grip in deep snow and on descents (even on very slight elevation changes). The hiking instructor refused me in class with these snowshoes for safety issues when it was beginner level hikes

How to use the sh100 easy snowshoes?

Before putting them on:There is a snowshoe for the left foot and one for the right foot, check you have the correct snowshoe on each foot. The rip-tab straps must be closed outwards. Adjustable:Your snowshoes must be properly adjusted to ensure your safety.1/ Your feet must reach the front end front to optimise shoe support.2/ The 3 rip-tab straps must be fully tightened.

Choose your snowshoes according to your weight:

Choose snowshoes depending on the weight of the wearer (including the weight of their backpack) to enable them to remain on the surface of the snow. This is what is known as lift. There are different sizes of snowshoes to adapt to all sizes and hiking practices. Our advice for the SH100 EASY snowshoe: 40 to 75 kg: medium deck, size M60 to 90 kg: large deck, size L

Sh100 easy snowshoe dimensions:

Size MWidth: 19cm.Length: 48cm.Size LWidth: 20cm.Length: 56 cm.

Using poles for increased stability when snowshoeing:

We strongly recommend that you use a pair of poles for better stability when snowshoeing. Especially if you intend to walk on slopes (uphill, downhill, etc.) or on powder snow where you may sink in more. There are 2 types of basket, choose large baskets so that the poles remain on the surface.

Choose breathable clothing for snowshoeing:

We tend to over-dress when hiking in the snow because we are afraid of the cold. However, you will heat up very quickly when snowshoeing.Adopt the 3 layer technique! This technique gives you warmth according to your level of effort: remove clothing when it is warm, put it back on when it is colder or during breaks. If you are too hot, you will perspire more, which will cool you down during breaks or when going downhill on a hike.

Dress using the 3-layer technique

To dress properly in winter, whatever your activity, we recommend using the 3-layer principle:layer 1: The high-tech base layer transfers moisture away from the body to keep your skin dry.layer 2: The second layer (fleece, sweater) provides warmth and transfers moisture outwards.layer 3: The jacket protects you from the outdoor conditions: rain, snow, wind. The whole outfit must be breathable in order to eliminate moisture.

Which footwear?

For snowshoeing, you need warm high hiking shoes that are waterproof and breathable. Also go for shoes with good grip for the areas where you will remove your snowshoes (on the car park or if there is not enough snow).

Never forget safety...

For off-piste hiking, make sure you are equipped with maps, a compass and/or GPS and carry an Avalanche Victim Detector, a shovel and a probe. These three pieces of equipment allow you to be found if you are caught in an avalanche, or look for a victim. And do not forget to revise your security basics.

Is it possible to repair my sh100 easy snowshoes if i break my binding or lose the metal tips?

Yes, make your SH100 EASY snowshoes last longer! The after-sales service is available in the workshop of your DECATHLON store.
