What are ski sidecuts?

The sidecuts correspond to the width of the tip, waist and tail. The wider the tip, the easier the turn entry. The narrower the waist, the stronger the grip in hard snow. The wider the waist, the more comfortable and stable in different snow conditions. Which skier are you?

If you are lucky enough to be able to choose the best days to go out or if you simply want wide playful skis, the Pow Chaser is for you. If for you the best days are on the snow in the forest, you will love the Pow Chaser. Designed for powder snow hunters who are always looking for the spot with the most recent big snowfall! You will see that this ski is designed for advanced freeriders with good fitness levels.

Description

With its generous width (115 mm) and long rockers, it is unsinkable and super fun. Its radius, longer than on the slash, and its profile lets the Pow chaser benefit from extremely good pivot to carve beautiful tracks. The only limit is to dare follow your imagination!

Construction

Light Woodcore Tec is a structure with a light wooden core (Palownia) reinforced with fibreglass for responsiveness and basalt fibres to cushion shocks. The advantage of this construction? It’s particularly handy for use on all the little bumps for playing and jumping. It lets the ski be playful without sacrificing grip on groomed slopes.

Rubber tip and tail

The ski has a rubber insert on the tip and tail. This insert aims to cushion distortion and reduce vibrations caused by the Rockers.

What is a camber?

On a ”rocker” ski, the nose, and sometimes the tail, comes off the ground much sooner than with a cambered ski. This moves the points of contact towards the centre of the ski. The surface of the ski in contact with the snow is shortened: they have better handling and more buoyancy on soft snow. When leaning into turns, the edge length offers more grip on hard snow. The longer the rocker, the better the handling of the ski.

Durability

Black sole for easier repairs.Reinforced topsheet to best resist scratches and semi-cap to prevent scaling.

Preparation

Ready-to-use waxed and sharpened skis. Edges sharpened at 89°.

Product testing

the Powchaser has been tested on snow by over 30 passionate freeriders. Their strength has been put to the test in long-term trials under the feet of mountain professionals for over 45 days during the 2019/2020 season.
