Endurance test passed in wind, rain and frost

Addendum to the first evaluation: Endurance test in the Allgäu in wind, rain and frost passed well. Wind: inner poles in the direction of the wind and in the slipstream of the bus; approx. 60km/h, no problem. Rain: in heavy rain, small bubbles that run down due to the weight until the water runs out at the height of the poles. Cover tightly for days. Fold up the floor mat and connect it with Velcro, especially in windy conditions, otherwise water will run into the tent. In windy conditions, check often that the outer walls of the entrances are not pushed inwards over the edge of the floor mat. (@ Decathlon/Quechua: 2-3 Velcro fasteners between the floor mat and entrances would be better). Frost: no problem. Blanket damp after 1 week; Condensation and/or rain was not entirely clear. Tent dismantled wet and dried at home (1 day). TIP: Take extra waterproof packaging (garbage bag) with you for the floor mat.

The tent is not worth the money!

This tent was purchased here in the shop in the summer of '21. Built for the first time this year, straight from the original packaging. So far so good... But the upper material is terrible. Well, after the first season the material is so leathered, probably due to exposure to the sun, that there is NO rain protection. The material is brittle and forms cracks on its own. The thing can now go in the bin. 400 for the garbage. I probably won't buy anything here again anytime soon!

Good

I would buy it again

Great inflatable tent

A very nice inflatable tent. After some experience, it was set up within 10 minutes with an electric 12 volt pump on the battery (the pump is the same brand as the tent, especially for tents and sub wave). After a week the tubes are still full of power. We attach the tent to our van to the roof rack attachment and let the flap hang over the van with 2 magnets on it and on the driver's side and the tent stays tightly in place. We secure the tent itself with screw pegs on the 4 corners. We don't use the cords because they always get tangled. The tent fits easily folded into the bag. Spacious. By the way, we pack the entire tent into the car one at a time and at the next campsite there it is again. 2022 4 weeks France 2023 4 weeks Italy later another 4 weeks Slovenia and Croatia. We didn't really have a strong wind, but when it was a bit windy the tent stayed in place. By the way, you can then use the cords. If the tent really leaks and cannot be repaired with a patch, we will buy a new one on the spot. We came across Decathlon several times during our journey.

Anteroom and tent

Used with the Air Seconds 4.1 F&B tent, and there is a small problem how to connect the two structures together so that they fit well, yes we did not count on a perfect connection (but it could be solved) but the main problem is with the entrance of the tent, as its entrance pins are in the place of the floor of the hall, and it is therefore not possible to lay this floor, it is all a bit "neck-breaking" and strange. But it probably still needs to find the right settings and it will be fine... Otherwise, satisfaction. perhaps a small window is missing, only with a mosquito net, a mosquito net in the side entrance, but then you can't walk ;-)

Storm tested

Regardless of the fact that we are enthusiastic about the quick, uncomplicated assembly/dismantling method, the good ventilation and the good compatibility, this and another Quechua bus awning have proven themselves to be storm-proof in the last week. For a long time it withstood the wind (approx. 6-7 bft) through the air hoses, it blew over and had to be secured by letting out the air and securing the tarpaulin. After returning, we carried out an inventory and cleaning the day before yesterday and were pleased to find that there was no damage or major contamination, despite the rough treatment required to secure it from flying away. In this case too, the tent was very convincing. Very high quality

Modification

In the month of April 2023 I made a satisfactory reference to the product... Now, with a good storm of water and hail, I want to provide new data... The water accumulates on the roof and you have to keep pushing to evacuate it, If the wind blows very strongly, it sinks and that causes water to accumulate more easily. When large hail falls, some breaks have been made in the roof. Possible solutions: Put one more tensioner in the center, to prevent it from bending and therefore prevent water accumulation. And putting the roof canvas thicker, like the one on the lower side, would be enough.

Missing mosquito net

Great product BUT big black spot. We went to Bordeaux with a 3 month old baby, it was 40 degrees … and there we noticed a big negative point. There is a small mosquito net on the small entrance but why not one at the large entrance ??? We had to choose between being very very very hot by closing the large opening or being devoured by mosquitoes... despite everything very happy with this purchase but we had a mosquito net sewn on the front
