Product Customer Reviews

Nice place to visit , the cashier was very pleasant,
I was pleasantly surprised. I prefer wider toed shoe, therefore took one size up. Been wearing this shoe everyday for work and it has been great. Excellent value.
Several Decathlon models I tried were quite crammy for my toes forcing me to go one size up, which was not preferable due to the extra length of the shoe. Interestingly the NH500 fit much better. I find it comfortable from the get go, which is nice. When I went trekking with these, I found them re-assuring with good grip and balance. I wasn't sure at first as it did not have the stud pattern, but it came out ok. I did not test them in water as I don't think they are water-proof. The shoe did get wet at the top when I walked through some wet grass momentarily, but it did not soak through to my socks. The sole has a tapering front, which is nice to walk as I found less need to flex the shoe as you take your step. I have not washed my shoe, so I don't know if the color would run like some reviews. So far so good on my socks not taking on any color from the shoe.
Very comfortable and have a good grip. My wife likes the look of them as well. A strong shoe, I'm very happy with them
I brought these as shoes I can still wear to work, but will be fine for walking in snow. Which they meet on both counts with flying colours, excellent value to.
Hello David,
Thank you for the review.
Nice choice of shoe. We are glad to hear you are happy with them, lots of work goes into the design and testing of our shoes. They are tested in the Alps, we hope they serve you well here in the Rockies.

We are so glad to hear about your recent experience with us. Thank you for taking the time to write a review with us. Have a wonderful day.

Top
super duper
A good shoe for mixed ground trekking.
Nice to where out as well as for walking
The grey fabric used for the upper of the shoes just isn't very tough. I've had these for six months and my toe has worn through it from the inside despite a metatarsal pad to prevent this kind of thing. I'd add that the sole is also wearing thin in places. I've really not worn them enough for me to expect this. At £40, I don't anticipate much, but six months seems a bit too soon to be replacing them.
The old NH500 model was much better looking and also more durable and water proof...
I walk approximately 10miles daily, and have over time destroyed expensive walking shoes/trainers/running shoes. Pairs lasting 6months maximum. These shoes have now walked nest part of 850miles and are showing no signs of wear. They are sturdy, well made a extremely comfortable. Will very definitely buy again.
Nicely designed exterior. Still new so need to break them in. Feet stay a little warm, could just be the weather.
Excellent shoe for everyday walking, as expected from Decathlon good price and quality.

Crosscontact sole
The sole design is the product of a lengthy research process conducted in our laboratories, which has been combined with a special rubber formulation to optimize grip and traction. Given the variety of different needs, we always seek the best compromise between muddy off-road trails (like a forest path) and mineral trails (like a coastal path).
Designed for use on country paths
Our hiking boots are designed for use on country trails. Indeed, we choose the components of the sole and upper of our boots and test them to ensure that they are ideally suited to hiking on loose trails (e.g. forest paths made of soil) or rocky trails (e.g. rocky coastal paths). The boots may wear prematurely and feel uncomfortable when used on roads (asphalt). They are not suitable for mountain walking.
Reducing our environmental impact
For these boots, we selected more eco-friendly components: - natural chrome-free leather - Upper (front of the boot, tongue and top of the boot): 100% recycled polyester - tongue lining and collar: 100% recycled polyester - laces and lace loops made of 100% recycled PES - insole: 85% recycled polyurethane foam and 100% recycled polyester lining - outsole: 30% recycled rubber
What is the origin of our leather
We use so-called nubuck leather. It has a soft silky touch. The leather of this boot comes from cowhide. We don't kill any animals to obtain this leather: we only use the waste products from the food industry.
How to maintain your leather boots
After your hikes, we advise you to: - Leave to dry away from any heat source - When the leather is fully dry, scrub vigorously with a stiff brush to remove mud and dirt - Use a crepe or nubuck brush to remove any stains - For stubborn stains, clean with a brush and some lukewarm water - Leave to dry - Brush again with a stiff brush - Spray with a waterproofing spray: this adds luster to the leather and gives the color greater intensity.
Laboratory test
Laboratory tests are conducted to test the following elements: tearing of the eyelets and straps, gluing, toxicology, UV resistance, abrasion of the sole and the components of the upper, accelerated aging. We use these tests to improve the quality of our products and prevent the premature wear of our hiking boots.
How to choose the correct size of hiking boot
Try on both boots while standing, with the socks worn for hiking. Try on several models or sizes if necessary. Check the following 2 comfort points: the base of the heel and the front part of the foot going downhill. There should be no pressure points when trying them on. Feel free to walk around the store. Gradually wear in your boots over the course of a few hikes so that they conform to your feet.
The boot/sock combination plays an important role.
Many things cause blisters when hiking: rubbing, a crease in the sock, moisture, a boot size that is too small or too big, etc. It is therefore important choose the right size and to have socks made of the right material for your hiking boots.
How to choose the size of your hiking socks
You must choose the right sock size for your foot so that there are no additional creases in the sock: either because the sock is too big resulting in too much material around your foot, or because the sock is too small resulting in extra material getting pulled inside the boot.
How to choose the material of your hiking socks
Moisture must be effectively managed when hiking: this is often unavoidable given that we perspire. If your boot is breathable, it will eliminate the moisture of your perspiration: in this case, you need to choose a lightweight sock that is also breathable If your boot is relatively waterproof, you will need to make a different choice to protect yourself from rainwater: you need to go for a sock that will absorb your perspiration and keep it as far away from your foot as possible.
Which pair of socks is suitable for the nh500 boots?
Although this type of footwear offers some breathability, it is not sufficient to eliminate all the moisture of your perspiration. You should therefore choose NH500 low or mid socks: they contain cotton that absorbs moisture and they have a plush loop construction under the sock that keeps the moisture away from your foot. What's more, they are high enough to protect your ankle from the boot. This is an excellent combination for reducing blisters.
Warranty
Our hiking boots are guaranteed for 2 years. Our commitment? To offer you hard-wearing products you can take with you on all your country walks. Because the products we like the most are those with a story behind them that is still ongoing!

Product testing
Our design team imagined, thought up and designed the Quechua products in France, at the foot of the Mont Blanc. We test them in the field with other hikers to make sure that they are comfortable and durable. This product has been tested by hikers in Brittany. We take them on as many trails as we can, in all weathers. These field tests involve lots of discussions, which are very useful in getting your feedback and planning our future collections!
