Product Customer Reviews

These shoes have some excellent qualities. In general their design is very sturdy and they should hold up well to years of outdoor adventures. The combination of leather and plastic reinforced areas are well thought out. The shoes are comfortable in that I've never gotten a blister. The traction and support for a low cut hiking shoe is great. With all those good qualities, I have two issues. The first is that being waterproof, they shoes make for very sweaty feet. Is it really necessary to have a low top shoe be waterproof? If you step in a puddle, water is going to come in the top and your feet will stay wet. Secondly, and most concerning to me is that in both shoes, the fabric is coming unraveled or loose from the stitching 2 inches, 5 cm from the toe. Both holes are getting bigger and are currently 1.5 cm in length. Apparently in this area of the shoe, there is not enough fabric to be held by the stitching. I've worn these shoes about 20 times, so to have them falling apart already is very bad- especially when they are well designed and perfect for my use.
After 6hrs hikes in Denver, I got blisters in multiple places in my leg, especially blisters that turn into wounds. Very bad design. good things are waterproof and grip where it becomes worthless of bad inner sole design.

I haven't experienced rain or ponds with them yet but I have hiked a few times and I find them to be extremely comfortable with a great sole ready to take the rockier paths. Good grip on slippery rocks as well. So far I'm very happy
I has high hopes for this shoe. They're sturdy and seem perfect for hiking. But the poor workmanship on one shoe has left deep blisters in one of my heels. It's clearly an assembly problem because I can feel the plastic heel guard intruding where it shouldn't on one shoe, but not the other. Unfortunately, I this would make me think twice about buying Decathlon shoes, especially since their return policy seems very restrictive. So I will just stare at the shoes in my closet, unused.
thank you for taking the time to send this review to us.
Your satisfaction is essential for us and I am very disappointed with the bad experience you lived with these shoes.
Those shoes have been designed with a great attention on comfort, during the validation phase, many people tested the shoe in the mountains in various conditions and we are extremely proud of the results on comfort.
Indeed, what you describe is unfortunately an assembly error during the production phase. I would like to apologise for this very bad experience and I would be very happy to send to you a new pair of shoes. Can you please share with me your postal address and size and I will organise this. I hope you can get the real experience with our shoes :)

Comfortable and dry regardless of the the weather conditions. Ideal for hiking or bushwalking or gardening. These shoes are money well spent in light of current weather. I’m so happy my missus bought them for me.
Perfect shoe for hikes and trails with excellent traction and comfy sole. Walked 35km without blisters. Is water-resistant though rain obviously does get in via your legscover time.
Waterproof so can follow
Used for trekking under a good amount of rain, very happy with comfort, waterproofing and grip.
I didnt like the colour but there was no stock. I bought it in rush. I usually use 2E ( width). Its causing bit discomfort. They come in standard sizes. So try out feel comfortable. Been using it for last 8 weeks. Very comfortable for hikes especially in wet weather.
Assembly average as glue traces are still visible. The design is rather akward as the rear part of the shoe feels odd & low. As if it can fall off at any time. The foot sole is excellent! There seems to be a cushon inside
Good clean store,very comfortable shoes.
Good quality for the price, last pair lasted about 2 years and I wear them just about every day and walk a lot. I’ve ditched my golf shoes and only wear these as the tread is great non slip - happy customer, Martin
Great shoes at a reasonable price. Comfortable from day one. My second pair to replace a worn out pair. Better than more expensive brands.
These shoes are very comfortable and lots of traction for hiking! I like that they’re waterproof for the wet spots on the trails!
Very warm. Which means they can be too warm

Sustainable development information
For the inner sole fabric coating of these boots, we dye the thread during manufacturing to reduce the environmental impact. Textile dyeing requires a lot of water but also produces waste water from the dye baths. To reduce this environmental impact, we use a mass pigmentation process that involves adding the color pigments when the thread itself is produced.
Sole with grip
The grip of our soles is certified. To be awarded certification, the boots must pass laboratory tests to assess the grip rate on different surfaces (Smooth, Rugged, Dry, Wet). To validate these tests, we assess the quality of our soles in the field, in the mountains, by a panel of representative testers over 310 miles
Waterproofing test
In a laboratory, the boot is immersed in water to mid-height on a mechanical arm that flexes to simulates a number of steps. With this test, we can determine a time and number of miles that the boot can walk while staying dry. Then we confirm, in the field or under the rain, that the boot meets its promises.
Making waterproofing last longer
To keep your feet dry, we advise you to use a waterproof gaiter or mini-gaiter to protect the top of your boots and prevent water, pebbles, and sand from getting in.We advise re-waterproofing your boots twice a year using a re-waterproofing agent (search for ‘waterproofing’ on our Decathlon website) which will help you restore the original water-repellent qualities and help prevent stains on the outside.
Evofit concept
This boot is fitted with the EVOFIT concept. With its stretch materials and specific design for the area of the foot where the joints are located, EVOFIT technology allows the boot to perfectly fit the shape of your foot.
Product design: our expertise
Our Quechua global design center is based in Passy, at the foot of Mont-Blanc in Haute Savoie. This location makes it a real meeting place for our teams (designers, product managers, engineers, etc.) and outdoor sports enthusiasts. A great asset for designing our hiking products and providing you with all our expertise.
Which size should you select?
The most important thing is to try on several sizes and styles of boots to find the one most suited to you! You can take a size above your usual one to prevent the toes from bumping into the toe box when going downhill, provided the foot is properly supported to avoid friction.Tip: Keep your toenails short and, before a long descent, check that your lacing is tight enough to prevent your foot from sliding forward inside the boot.
Buying tips / how do you try your boots on?
Some Decathlon stores have a test route.1. Try on both boots, standing up and wearing the socks you use for hiking. 2. Tighten the laces, taking care to correctly balance the tightening.3. Check 2 points:- The heel does not come up before the boot when you walk uphill.- The foot does not slide and the toes do not press against the front when going downhill.4. Try on several sizes and models.Break them in gradually to adapt them to your foot.
Product testing
All our models are tested by users representative of our target market in conditions identical to those you encounter yourself when using them. We believe that carrying out 'real-life' testing is the only way to design and continuously advance the technical relevance and design of all our Quechua products.
