The Pace 500 ebike has a tripometer but the mileage is not saved like the odometer. When you start riding your ebike and eventually rest for 10 - 20 minutes or take a break for lunch, the LCD resets the tripometer back to zero every time. That is wrong. It should allow the option for you to reset the tripometer when you desire. It It does save the odometer for your total mileage of all your trips, but it should also save the trip mileage when you restart your trip after a break. After reading reviews and test riding a friend’s Aventon Pace 500 step through, I made the purchase. It arrived within a week in perfect condition. Our son, familiar with bike mechanics assembled it for me with no issue. It has been a joy to ride and I would recommend it without hesitation. The Aventon Pace 500 is easy to ride with a step through frame. My wife is now able to bike much longer distances and is unafraid of hills or wind. The Pace 500 has great acceleration and puts hills in the rear view mirror. Only problem so far is the height adjustment for the seat needs to provide a better hold….the seat drops down with riding time. Love the pace 500 bike. Our first venture into electric bikes we bought a couple of them online that were made in China. They worked fine for the first three years then had electrical problems. Once the electrical problem starts no one can fix them. We started to research many different bikes and from recommendations from bike shops, even ones who sold more expensive e-bikes, the consensus was that the pace500 was the best value for the dollar. Last weekend we had some friends visiting and they were riding the two older e-bikes and my husband were riding our pace 500. As a 65 year old, I so appreciate having the Pace 500. It seems with age, riding up steep hills and into a strong head wind was taking the fun out of riding a bike. The pedal assist makes easy work of both those challenges, which I truly appreciate. The throttle has also become a wonderful tool for staring out at busy intersections. Instead of that first peddle trying to get the bike moving, the throttle zips into action, which is a huge relief when cars are quickly approaching. I also find the bike quite comfortable. It seems many bike are designed for younger riders, whose limbs are more flexible and whose bottoms are more durable. Not so with this bike! I love my new Pace 500. I recently rode around a mountain lake with some steep hills and found the bike such a pleasure to ride. I could enjoy the scenery whereas before my Pace 500, I struggled to get up these hills on my non-electric hybrid bike. With the Pace 500 you can still get a workout if you want, but you can increase the level of pedal assist for those times when you don’t want to work so hard. I did a lot of research before buying my first electric bike. All the Aventon reviews were extremely positive and I made the right choice in purchasing 2 Pace 500's (one for me and one for my wife). These bikes are well built and high quality for the price. They ride very smooth and they also ride well without using the power assist. They are just great bikes. As an older adult (53) I just love the cruiser handlebars so I don't need to bend over so much. I have already recommended them to my friends and they bought some so we can ride together. The concept is bike is great. You still get your exercise but the hard difficult part of the workout is now optional. If you want to work hard, have at it, if you want to instead just enjoy the ride and scenery, use the power. We took a hilly 45 mile bike ride and it felt like 25 miles. I almost never leave the #1 assist mode and never use the throttle. I have gotten 47 miles, out of one charge,on a flat bike path and no wind. As low as 33 miles on some days. So far I at 6000 miles and have had it for just over a year. I took the bike in this spring for a tuneup and the mechanic did a very nice job getting everything set where it should be. New tires too, total just over $200. I am humming along this year. When I got the bike I took it to the dirt paths in hilly areas and broke three spokes. I weigh over 200 lbs. The bike shop had a new wheel, no charge because of the warranty, and me back in the seat in less than two weeks. From what I read I thought I was in trouble, but no. I absolutely love this bike. My husband had purchased one first and we decided we needed a second one. It goes pretty fast about 28 speed.i have a kid trailer attached and it pulls it very well. Goes a little slower due to extra weight but still fast. Customer service is helpful too. I had a problem with the screen and they sent a replacement very quickly. Only problem I have is taking out the battery has gotten a little hard. Just got my wife a Celeste Blue Pace 500 so we could ride together. (I have the Pace 350). She loves it. Love the throttle on demand, the light weight, the color, and all the many features. I could not be happier with my Aventon Pace 500. What an amazing bike, especially for the price given the features. As I’ve gotten older (and slower!), this bike has allowed me to get out and ride again, making it possible to go longer and further than I was recently able to do, and all the while still getting good exercise. This is fun again! It was easy to assemble on my own. Aventon provides great how-to videos on their site that were very helpful in that process. Love the display dashboard and the information it provides. The battery is easily removed and quickly charges. I’m a pretty big guy, and still have gotten around 45 miles per charge on a relatively flat greenway with a few hills, so not using it all the time throughout the ride. There is still about 20% left in the battery when I charge it, but I don’t like to let the “gas tank” to get too low. Considering the power of that motor, the hydraulic disc brakes, the recent upgrade to TOD (throttle on demand), it is just an incredible bike for this price range. I have had this bike for a month now and it has lived up to my expectations. I us it mainly for Commuting to and from work. But I go on joy rides with it to.
