Excellent first road bike.

The favorable reviews on the Triban RC 120 by numerous users online are correct. It is a well thought of product. It rides comfortably, has a solid geometry and is a steal for its price. It is priced the same or even lower than many China brands with similar components. But what you don’t get is the six month free service in Decathlon and the lifetime warranty. The Microshift R8 shifts nicely and the carbon fork is a sweet bonus. You won’t go wrong with Triban.

Rc120 Road Bike

It's a good road bike, it rides like a proper road bike despite it using microshift groupset, which works well and it's smooth when cycling and shifting gears. however, the sizing advice at the website for this rim brakes version is wrong. It states 1 size Smaller for every sizing. For example, I'm 1.67m and I should be getting the S size version, but the site advices to get the M size which is too large. The sizing advice should follow the Rc120 disc brakes version, which they are essentially the same bike, but with different braking and wheels. I have informed the customer service of the wrong sizing advice but so far nothing has been changed or updated at the website to prevent others from buying the wrong size bikes.

Decent Road Bike

As a beginner road bike cyclist, chose this with the help of one of my more experienced cyclist friends. It's a great bike to start off with, to get used to gear shifts and such.

Ridden 100+ km so far This bike comes with a wide range of gears that make climbing easy and allow me to maintain a high speed on flat roads. Gears shift smoothly although it may be a little slow . Also comes with toe clips which can be easily removed if you prefer not to have them on. Brakes work well enough considering the price of the bike although I had to adjust it when it first came(just a minor issue). Saddle is good although it may be a bit on the harder side for some but this can easily be fixed by a saddle cover or changing the saddle. Quite a tough bike as I have ridden it over grass and some kerbs without any issue. Overall a pleasant experience riding the bike and would definitely recommend it to beginners looking for an affordable road bike.

Value for Money

Excellent Value Bike. Versatile, more comfort-oriented geometry frame. Suprisingly smooth and accurate shifting groupset. Good enough brakes. Durable tires. You can’t find another good bike with lifetime warranty on the frame, carbon forks, decent components at this price point. Good job decathlon!

tuyệt vời

An excellent entry-level road bike

I was new to road bike when I purchased the Triban RC120 2 months ago. It has been a pleasant experience. Although the alu frame feels a bit too stiff, everything else on this bike feels right considering its price. The Microshift gear and shifters work surprisingly well and accurate. The provided tyres offer enough comfort and grip for most road conditions.

overall nice with detail problems

Just received it today and rode for one and a half hour. The overall performance is ok. The frame is quite light for this price. However, the rear brake was rubbering when I received it (adjusted it myself and fixed it), and the gear shift was quite slow and if I only shift one gear it sometimes fails(I think it’s tuning problem as well, haven’t looked at it yet). The brakes wasn’t as strong as I expected, especially during long descending (but hey, a v-brake on a S$570 bike, what can I expect). One more things: why on earth would u have that shoe-holding stuff on the pedal? It’s hard for me to get my feet on and off the pedal in almost any cases! Removed it myself. Overall a high 3 to a low 4 out of 5.

Good Value but questionable quality

Did 200KM on the bike, was impressed initially given the ride and the Low price of the bike. It started to show its creeks early with knocking sounds on the pedals etc.

Solid bike for basic commutes!

Been commuting on this bike mainly through our Green Corridor for the last couple of weeks now, covered a total of about 200km and worked through all the gears on every ride. The bike has performed as it should, very stable, very solid. However, changing to a lower gear during a ride isn't as seamless as I would've hoped, but with the non-high-end derailleur that has been paid for, I can't complain ◡̈ A tip would be to switch to gravel tyres if you would like to use it along the Green Corridor; otherwise, the original tyres will do just find along our roads. This Triban 120 is of good value, and I know that it will last me for a good while!
