Very good canoe

Canoeing that I have really enjoyed for around ten outings, in rivers, lakes and on the coasts in gentle seas. Easy to handle for two people, very practical, easy to inflate, store and dry. I highly recommend especially for the price. Thank you to the Decathlon teams for this affordable and truly practical product.

Excellent. We used it…

Excellent. Two of us used it in the Atlantic Sea for 15 days. Nothing to say!!!! Very comfortable!!!! handy, stable, very easy to use. The only downside is that it is heavy and not enough of a handle to carry it from the house to the beach when you are alone. But very easy for two thanks to the handles at each end. No regrets, even better than rigid canoes.

Kayak

A real beach experience and not least for sports. Stable, it can be equipped for one or two people, which practically means two boats for one price. Clever construction.

Great kayak

Perfect inflatable kayak for one person with a bag, a little tight for two people, but ok for an expedition of a few hours. Easy to assemble and disassemble, very stable in calm waters or small currents.

The canoe complies…

The canoe conforms to what was presented to us by the seller, it is stable, however it tends to rock.

Value for money

Super light, robust, stable inflatable kayak with its paddle-style bottom, a real joy to go on an adventure. Only downside, very complicated to put back in your bag.

Let down by cheap components

My Son and I rented the X100 2 person kayak for a day to trial with a few to buying one. We are beginners and enjoyed our day on the river Chelmer in Essex. Although as a structure it felt robust there are parts of the assembled kayak that you just know wont stand the test of time. The fins and fin boxes are so flimsy you cant even support the weight of the kayak on its own on the fins on a grass bank without possible damage. One of ours was found to be cracked when I returned it and was charged ÂŁ20 for the damage to a fin box. The store said it may have happened when it was rolled up as its happened before but really, the box shouldn't crack in folding it away. Its because the fins and boxes are flimsy and more like a child's toy than something that is going to be used out doors on the water. We also found that the seats felt comfortable to begin with but required constant tensioning of the back rest. I think the problem is that the Velcro latch for the seat base allows slippage of the seat that in turn causes slackness in the seat back restraint requiring constant adjusting or repositioning of the seat base which is difficult when you are on the water. When you get down to detail like little orange tags that are sown onto mesh and and other fabrics they just pull off, no thought at all to the load they may take, I grabbed one to steady the boat whilst I was on the bank to move it closer to me and it simply pulled off barely stitched from what I could see. I also found that the seam joint on the side tubes was sharp and in a position that grazed my skin when resting my hand whilst holding the paddle. Maybe that edge wears away with time but I think on the whole other peripheral components will fail before that ever happens. Will I buy one? I'm not sure at the moment. We had a great day and I really looked after the rented kayak as I look after everything I own so to find it was damaged is a worry. I researched a number of drop stitch kayaks including useful videos from users on YouTube so know there are plenty to choose from. The ITIWIT is very competitively priced and robust as a structure as said. I'm 6'-3" and 105kg and it felt really secure and stable in the water. I'm also not the most agile in my early 70's so was concerned I would struggle to get in and out off of the river bank but with a paddle board kind of floor I found that easy taking my weight onto the floor and side tubes as I lowered myself down. Its a shame that corners have been cut on things like the seating, fin/box design and peripheral materials as to buy one I know I would be forever having to fix and repair them to maintain it in a useable state. I would have to live with that.

Kayak good, seats with poor durability

I've had the kayak for about a year now and I've had a lot of fun with it, especially this summer. A bit tight as a 2-seater, but quite comfortable on its own. It's always like that; If you want to be comfortable, you have to buy a size larger. In my opinion it is a good compromise. You can't really be sporty with it, but you can let your legs hang over it sometimes :-) It's never tipped over. And I think it can only do that if you really put your mind to it. What's nice is that it dries quickly. What is less pleasant is that the second seat is now also broken. The glue, the threads or whatever is supposed to keep the seats in shape on the inside doesn't hold. I stuck to the 3 PSI very closely. But it's no use. The first exchange went smoothly, let's see how the second one turns out. But it's just stupid when you drive somewhere, set it up and then the seat is broken. I would happily pay €10 more if the thing was any good.

Great price performance

Great inflatable boat for the price and a lot of fun. And the advice was really great.

PUMP NOT INCLUDEDFor use with an Itiwit double-action hand pump with adapters

Inflation tips and floor positioning

Connect the ITIWIT pump (sold separately) by twisting the pump adapter 1/4 turn and inflate the floor to 5 psi. Finish by screwing the cap back on.Put the floor inside the kayak and strap it at the ends. The floor valve must be aligned with the side tube valves located at the back of the kayak. The floor's position must allow free access to the drain plugs located in the middle of the kayak.

Side tube and seat inflation tips

Connect the ITIWIT pump (sold separately) by twisting the pump adapter 1/4 turn and inflate the side tubes to 3 psi. Finish by screwing the cap back on. Each side tube has a pressure relief valve. Its purpose is to evacuate excess air resulting from overinflation. When this happens, you may notice a hissing sound. This hissing sound is normal, it can also occur during prolonged exposure to the sun. It will stop once the kayak reaches the correct internal pressure.

Seat comfort and positioning.

The seats are high, providing increased comfort for adults in the paddling position.Position the seats on the floor using the velcro areas located under the seat and on the floor.Stow any bags or equipment into the kayak's rear hatch or attach to the rear deck. The boat is ready to be launched.

Glide performance

Thanks to the rigidity of the dropstitch floor. ”Dropstitch” is a material. 2 layers of PVC are connected by thousands of polyester strands. When inflated to high pressure, these threads tighten and create a rigid volume, which prevents the kayak from loosing its shape.Which is what makes our inflatable kayak extremely rigid but easy to stow in a wheeled bag once deflated.

Care instructions

Remove the seats and slightly deflate the floor to make it easier to rinse out.Rinse the kayak, bottom, and seats with clean water after each use to avoid damage from sand, salt water, and sun.Open the drain plugs located in the middle of the kayak and at the rear. Tip the kayak to empty out the water.

Disassembly and folding

Make sure that the surface you intend to fold the kayak on is clean. Remove the fins.Deflate the side bladders. The valves are located at the back of the kayak. PLEASE NOTE: Do not unscrew the pressure relief valves at the front.Fold the floor.Fold the rest of the kayak in half lengthwise. Flatten the front fin base.Lay the rolled floor on the front end. Roll the kayak to the rear end.Strap the kayak.

Storage

Once dry and clean, the kayak should be stored in a dry and shady place, protected from significant temperature changes. The kayak can be stored folded, but if you have enough space, storing it flat and slightly inflated will extend its life.
