Took it to walk the Milford Track and is was great. Covered me and my backpack and allowed more ventilation in the humid conditions. Kept me dry.
I may look a bit frightening walking around with my dog but this cape keeps me nice and dry.
Although advertised as 'kids', I ordered and selected 'adult' from drop-down menu 'adult' and that was shown on my order. Size that arrived was definitely 'kids', so maybe this ISN'T available in adult size. Luckily, I'm only 5' 4" (the kids' size says it fits up to 156cm/61.4" (5' 1.5") and the length is roughly to my knees (adult size would probably have come down to my ankles!) and sleeves come to the elbow...but that's good enough for me - I just want something to fling over my head and keep 'the worst off'. Being a smaller size, the hood is a close fit, which can be considered a positive as it doesn't obscure vision like some hoods (ie when you turn your head, the hood goes with it!) Haven't yet used it so can't attest to its waterproof capabilities but hopefully it will withstand a sudden shower.
I got this for use in warmer and wetter conditions - generally in the summer and late spring/early autumn, for backpacking. More conventional "breathable" waterproofs result in getting too hot and sweaty in warmer wet weather. A poncho affords reasonable dryness for upper torso and pack and can be very easily "vented" to cool off. It's light and packs small. It's versatile and useful in a variety of conditions, but not bad stormy wet and windy or cold weather conditions IMHO. Good value from this company. Quality is quite good for the price.
My daughter survived 3 hours of ski school in the rain wearing this. Well worth it! Much cheaper than a storm jacket although not as stylish.
I purchased the cape to take to take with me to watch a Grand Prix, in an area well known for its wet climate. We has a downpour the first day and the cape kept me perfectly dry. The water just rolled off when I shook it and I was able to get the then dry product back into its bag easily. I would highly recommend this product. Great colour too!

Pláštěnku používám asi 1,5 roku a stále si drží nepromokavost a prodyšnost. Zmokl jsem v ní mockrát a nikdy nepromokla, a to ani po celodenním dešti v horách. Využil jsem ji i při plavbě na kánoi, kdy jsem ji měl oblečenou na holé tělo, stále byla dostatečně prodyšná a já se pod ní nepařil, tak jak je tomu zvykem u ostatních pláštěnek. Výhodou je, že lze na boku pod rukávem rozepnout a tak vám vznikne plachta, pod kterou se dá i přepsat.
Pončo by mohlo být delší, když foukne silný vítr, tak je nad kolena...
Absolutní spokojenost.

The fit is suitable for a hikers whose are: between 4'1" and 5'1" tall for the kids' size between 5'1" and 5'7" tall for the adult size .......... and carrying a backpack from 0 to 25 L The hood is tightened with an elasticated cord and toggle. This poncho is easy to get on and off thanks to the half-zipper opening that allows the head through.

Component waterproofing
We measure a fabric's resistance to water pressure, expressed in terms of the height of a water column in mm (based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. Components with a 2000 mm rating can withstand the pressure of a 2000 mm column of water (which is equivalent to a rain shower lasting 2 hours).
Waterproofing of the garment
This garment has been shower-tested in 60 liters/sqm/hour of water for 2 hours. This test reproduces the average conditions of a rain shower in the mountains.
Component breathability
To find out whether a fabric is breathable, we test its evaporative resistance or RET (based on the ISO 11092 standard). The lower the resistance, the more water vapor generated by the body in physical activity can escape through the fabric. Hence, the more breathable it is. For example: RET < 9 = extremely breathable fabric 9 < RET < 12 = very breathable fabric 12 < RET < 20 = breathable fabric RET > 20 = little or no breathability. This cape has an RET = 12.
Water-repellent property of the component
The water-repellent property of a fabric is its ability to make water run off its surface without absorbing it. In this way, the fabric does not soak up water and therefore remains lightweight, breathable and warm. The water-repellent property is obtained by applying a treatment to the outer surface of the fabric. This treatment needs to be restored throughout the lifetime of the garment (every 3 washes). All of Quechua's ponchos and capes have a water-repellent treatment.

Care instructions
Wash at 86°F. Use liquid detergent; do not add fabric conditioner. Fasten zippers and hook and loop fasteners before washing. Refresh the water-repellent properties by applying an appropriate treatment after each wash.
