What do you expect out of an 8oz 1/3" sleeping pad? Not much I hope. I first saw this pad on the AZT, a hiker called 'Stir Crazy' was using one. Now I know where he got his name.
I wanted a foam pad for layering under my inflatable for snow camp. This has an R value of 1.2 and is a lot lighter than my thermarest z-lite which I was using before. I guess I could use it alone for a summer backpacking trip but it wouldn't be very comfortable on its own. Underneath another pad, this adds enough cushion and insulation that would make sleeping on snow a lot more comfortable.

This was useful as a lightweight layer underneath my inflatable mat which I rolled up inside to transport. The slightly thicker version they used to make would have been more practical for me as the replacement concertina type now sold as a better model can't be used this way. The surface of the mat would be better if it was less slippy. It's good value though Decathlon should have added two elastics rather than one.
Is what it is. Very thin and not ideal if you want a decent sleep.

there's a lot of blurb about R value and RS standards, but they don't actually quote the R value which seems a little pointless.
Really impressed with this camping mat. Can be rolled securely & fastened with elastic loop that it comes with.
a simple but great mat with the bonus of a reflective backing. it will be used with egg shell folding mat to give extra insulation and comfort without extra weight or the hassle of blowing up a mat or bed. the bonus of a 10 year warranty just adds to the great price .
