Only for a little rain and a short time. To get out of

I bought them for when it rains while I work. They don't breathe, but I thought they would still work when it's cold, but it turns out that the rain quickly penetrates and you get wet in the areas that get the most water. For the price I imagine they are good for a specific moment and walking, but not for staying in the rain. You have to spend more money to make them completely waterproof.

Really good.

After 2h30 of hiking in mid-mountains in the rain, this tracksuit meets the design criteria, easy to put on and take off and... rain-resistant đź‘Ť

I don't fear rain

Excellent to use in rain, tested in a storm, perfectly dry at the end of trekking, comfortable to wear thanks to the lower zip with the possibility of not having to remove shoes or boots.

Additional Product Information

Main fabric: 100.0% Polyester ; Coating: 100.0% Polyurethane

Water resistance of the fabric

The waterproofing of a fabric by a coating or a membrane is measured in Schmerbers or H20 mm (pressure of a water column). The higher this number, the more waterproof the fabric. This jacket is designed with a waterproof coating (JIS 1092 standard): this component resists 5,000 mm H20 (Schmerbers) before washing (equivalent to the pressure exerted by a 5 metre column of water).

Fabric breathability

To find out whether a fabric is breathable, we measure its thermal evaporative resistance coefficient (RET) based on the ISO 11092 standard. The lower the fabric's resistance, the more water vapour generated by physical activity can escape, and the higher the fabric's breathability. RET ≤ 9: extremely breathable fabricRET < 12: very breathable fabricRET < 20: breathable fabricRET > 20: little or non-breathable fabric.

Your health is our top priority

The fabric of this jacket is water repellent: it lets water slide over its surface without seeping in. In this way, the fabric doesn’t soak up water and stays light and breathable. The water repellent property is achieved by treating the fabric's exterior. We have started to use a water repellent treatment without perfluorocarbons.

How to maintain the waterproof property of your over-trousers over time.

To maintain a durable water-repellent fabric, we recommend reactivating it regularly. Do this every three washes (it is important to rinse abundantly) or after a dozen uses in the rain. You can easily reactivate the water repellent property by warming the fabric: - with your tumble dryer for 15 minutes (synthetic programme);- with a hair dryer at a distance of 20 cm, going back and forth twice;- or twice over with an iron on a delicate setting without the steam function.

Choosing your waterproof overtrousers according to your level of physical effort

During sports activity, the extent to which we perspire depends on the intensity or the duration of the physical effort If the fabric's breathability isn't suited to the type of activity/exercise your perspiration will condense inside jacket. You will feel damp inside this is not rain coming through but perspiration vapour condensing You need to choose over-trousers in line with your activity type. This product is designed for 2-hour hikes at no more than 5km/h.

Recommended additional product

To protect the upper part of your body as well, and to have a very efficient complete outfit against the wind and rain showers, we recommend the men’s Raincut 1/2 zip or full zip jackets.

Product testing

Our Quechua global design center is based in Passy, at the foot of Mont-Blanc in Haute-Savoie. This location makes it a real meeting place for our teams (designers, product managers, engineers, etc) and outdoor sports enthusiasts. A great asset for co-designing high-quality products for your hikes and giving you access to all our expertise.

Storage instructions

It is important to always make sure that the trousers completely dry before putting them away.
