Mountaineering shoes men - Alpinism Light blue SIM

I have worn the hiking boot in the Silvretta on several tours up to 3000 m, also with crampons, and I am very satisfied.

Too fragile

These shoes are quite comfortable, light and have a good grip for climbing but obviously have a problem of solidity. Less than a month after its purchase and at the end of the second use (mountaineering race on a rocky ridge) a seam has come undone and a piece of the black side reinforcement fabric has come off revealing the inside of the membrane.

Used for three days...

used for three days for the ascent of the Grand Paradis (4061m) from Pont (1960m) from July 16 to 18, including one day of crampons. The size is a normal size so a priori do not add a size compared to dress shoes. Of correct comfort, however, I very quickly felt a difference in rigidity between Left and Right to the point of almost having the impression of having a club foot and the skin of the left heel was torn off. After analysis, the two shoes absolutely do not have the same date of manufacture/import: 05/04/2022 vs 22/09/2022, i.e. 6 months apart and obviously not the same production line because we can almost play the game of 7 errors to note the differences in design and seams. The impact of the stones on the sole and the protections may seem normal, but I'm still surprised by comparing it with the hiking boots that have been in the Vosges/Alps/Nepal for a few weeks in sometimes similar conditions. Fearing a cold snap, I rented other shoes for the ascent of Mont Blanc in stride. The shoe seems to be waterproof but not very breathable especially for approach walking in hot weather, it is less of a problem in cool weather on snow above 3500m

the sole turns out to be too…

the sole is too flexible in use. It bends too easily. I would have preferred a thicker upper (the flap that comes in front of the ankle)

Ankle pain

Unfortunately, after the third use, the right boot created a large hematoma on the outside of the ankle. The stocking is the same stocking used the previous times, I don't understand why. As soon as the pain subsides I will try to use them again. At the moment I cannot advise you but neither can I advise against them.

Product a bit heavy...

Product a little heavy I did not find anywhere the indication of the weight of these shoes. Good value for money as bought on sale.

Heels are very chafing

The shoes would be really good (i.e. they were on 3 trekkings) if it wasn't for a similar story as in the case of the predecessors - literally in the middle of the 4th trekking (and as you know, you don't wear such shoes on Łysa Górka) suddenly they both started rubbing the heels mercilessly - no no wonder since the heel counter does not exist in that place and the seams perfectly go down to the center of the hard surface ... The matter is settled stationary in customer service, best regards.
