Fantastic jacket, although if it’s a little humid you do sweat a little. So really does keep the warmth in
+ve Big rear pocket functions like a bag Good long arms -ve Zip is very stiff and broke after a few months of occasional use. Decathlon would refund but not replace (they blamed Brexit...!?!) Chest pocket is too small and awkward No pit zips - so it got pretty stuffy Gets dirty very easily and hard to clean
My requirement was for x3 jackets for similar size male cyclists in the family. Using the size guide I first ordered x1 Large to check. It turned out to be too small so I returned it and then ordered x3 XL size. On delivery, these were all OK for size but of a thinner material and had a different sleeve style - plain elasticated cuff instead of the internal grip cuff on the first garment, which we all liked. As stock levels in XL looked very low I didn't want to return the x3 jackets and find none available after resolving the specification difference (which style was correct - the first L jacket or the follow up XL jackets?
Bought just in time for some wet and cold rides, this hasn’t disappointed. Arms initially feel long but as soon as you’re in a riding position, they’re exactly right. Nice fold away piece to protect your backside from rain off your back tyre. Bright hi vis for daylight, super reflective for when those car headlights come on. Big rear pocket and a small one on the chest for a phone or whatever. Would definitely buy this again when I wear this one out....
In general, I have been happy with the quality of products from Decathlon and this jacket continues the tradition. Great fit, keeps me dry even in the most outrageous of deluges. The high visibility bits on it does the job very well. So much so that local runners have commented on how visible I was cycling at night. The material used is of high quality. I wash it with waterproofer spray to keep it in tip top condition. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a waterproof jacket.
Nice jacket but size not as described. I'm a 40 chest and large was tight, no space for wearing anything under!

Die Regenjacke hält Regen zuverlässig ab und man ist durch die Farbe und Reflektoren gut sichtbar. Ich trage die Jacke zum pendeln und mag es eher etwas weiter, daher habe ich die Jacke in Größe XL gekauft, so kann ich bequem einen dicken Pullover oder eine Weste unter der Jacke tragen. Normalerweise trage ich Größe M bei Größe 183 cm und 74 kg. Was mir bei der Jacke fehlt sind Lüftungsreißverschlüsse unter den Armen und der Kragen könnte etwas höher und enger sein.
Diese Jacke ist sehr sichtbar, gut wasserdicht und preiswert. Für intensive Touren weniger geeignet da die Atmungsaktivitait nicht top ist. Dafür ist die Preis auch ein Viertel.
Gut durchdachte Jacke mit extrem vielen großen Reflektor-Elementen. Hält ziemlich warm (5°C und Regen mit Baselayer - kein Problem). Eine Stunde leichter bis mittlerer Regen konnte ihr nichts anhaben. Natürlich fängt man bei sportlicher Fahrweise nach 10km an zu schwitzen und wird feucht, aber nicht kalt. Das hab ich aber auch in meiner 250€ Regenjacke vom Premiumhersteller. Die Kritik an der Passform kann ich nicht nachvollziehen. Der Schnitt ist für Rennrad- oder Gravelbiker ganz normal - enganliegend, kein unerwünschtes Flattern und Verrutschen. Wer etwas fülliger ist, mehr drunter ziehen will und eher so der Stadtradfahrer ist, sollte aber unbedingt zwei Nummern größer kaufen. Ich kaufe Rennrad-Klamotten immer eine Größe drüber L statt M bei Alltags-Sachen. Ich bin 178cm, 85kg. trainiert, flacher Bauch, Brust, Rücken, Arme, denen man die Gym-Mitgliedschaft ansieht - also kein typischer Rennradler und kaufe immer L und das hat auch hier gepasst. Besonders wichtig - die Ärmel sind wirklich gut lang und der ausklappbare Rückenteil ist ne gute Idee bei nasskaltem Wetter.

The en1150 visibility standard
The effectiveness of this jacket's visibility has been certified by an external Finnish laboratory according to the very demanding EN1150 standard. It guarantees excellent visibility during the day (thanks to the neon yellow) and at night (thanks to the very powerful reflective patches). The standard also requires 360° visibility. You'll be visible to all road users in all conditions.
Fabric waterproofing
A fabric's waterproofing is determined by measuring its resistance to the pressure exerted by a water column, measured in mm (test based on ISO 811 standard). The higher the pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. The RC500 jacket's waterproofing stats: 8,000 mm before washing, 5,000 mm after 5 washes.

It's not just the fabric that's important for the product's waterproofing; the construction is just as big a deal. The seams on the RC500 are sealed and we have chosen to use the waterproof YKK AquaGuard® zipper.
Fabric breathability (ret)
To determine a fabric's breathability we measure its evaporative resistance or RET (based on standard ISO11092). The lower its resistance, the more it lets water vapor produced by the body escape, therefore the more breathable it is. • RET <6: Extremely breathable, suitable for most intense workouts • RET 6 to 12: Very breathable, designed for moderate exercise • RET 12 to 20: Moderately breathable, not enough for exercise • RET >20: little breathability, unsuitable for exercise
Membrane or coating?
The RC500 jacket's fabric has a membrane. The membrane is a type of very thin micro-perforated plastic film (polyurethane) that makes the fabric both waterproof and breathable. It is also very supple, lighter, more durable and more breathable than a fabric with a coating. A coating is like a layer of paint on the underside of the fabric to make it waterproof. It costs less than a membrane, and requires a lining to protect it.
Fold-up flap
As you know, if the road is wet, it can be very unpleasant getting your shorts covered in spray from the rear wheel. To solve this problem, we've equipped the RC500 jacket with a retractable flap at the base of the back. It can be discreetly folded into the back of the jacket, and is very practical when needed. It goes without saying that adding a mudguard to the rear of your bike adds even more protection against splashes.

CLASSIC FIT: Fitted and comfortable. This timeless cut is perfect for your longer bike rides, whether in the saddle or having a break. This fit is tighter than our "Relaxed Fit," but not as tight as our "Pro Fit."
