After 1 year of use

Delighted with RC 520 used in gravel (with 35 and 38 mm Panaracer tubeless tires) Very good bike. Versatile. I rode 4500 km with bikepacking trips of 300 km.

very comfortable and very responsive

bike that I just bought. first outing of 38 km with a pass passage at 6.4% and well I am pleasantly surprised. no pain, discomfort, or bad reactions from the bike. I am delighted !

excellent bike

When buying online and picking up in store, they send you to the workshop, and because of the excitement of the bike, I didn't realize that it was missing the T from the TRIBAN logo. review it before.

Does not fit resist+ tires or pedals or lights

Excellent product but delivered without resist covers + they didn't give me flat pedals and lights

Triban RC520 - Perfect fitness bike

I bought it a year and a half ago, rode it for more than 4,000 km (90% asphalt, the rest was forest terrain and gravel), my first road bike. I didn't change anything on it, I just put spd pedals, rpm sensors and garmin computer on it. After 50-100 kilometers, I managed to adjust both the seat and the steering wheel (or I adjusted to it). Fast rides of 100 km do not cause discomfort or pain. So far, it has been problem-free, the gearboxes work precisely, the drive is almost noiseless, and I don't feel that the brakes "get tired" even on a longer slope. I haven't had a flat tire in all this time and the condition of the tires is still good. My plan is that when the tires wear out, I will make it a bit wider and bumpier and it will become a winter/gravel bike. Of course, it is not designed for racing (neither aero nor light mountain bike), but it is perfect for a comfortable all-round fitness bike or even for hiking (bikepacking). Since I've been driving, I've become much fitter (and lighter 😀). Even after all this time, I still like to ride it, I can keep up with those using much more expensive bikes. Through him, I fell in love with road trips. But I didn't stop assembling... So far, maintenance only consisted of cleaning. The chain / drive approx. I brushed and re-oiled every month (or after a rainy/muddy ride). Even in the first week, the rear derailleur had to be fine-tuned with the Bowden tensioning screw on the derailleur, so that the shift was really precise and the operation was silent. It's a one-minute tool-less operation that I think should be done on most new bikes after a few 10-100km. It's not a beautiful Italian road bike, but it's worth it for the price/value ratio.

Reliability at a very good price

I have had the bike for 3 years, during which time I have traveled 15,300 km. The bike is durable, the parts are of quality, the transmission changes easily, the brakes are good. So far I have only changed the chain (5000 km wear

Tribant 520

Very solid bike, Road and off-road, good purchase.

Good bike may have a problem leaving the factory

Hello, I bought this bike in January 2022 during the shortage period and during an inspection in August 2023 the workshop told me to my great surprise that the chainring that was mounted was not the one indicated on the store page. In fact it was a micro-shift chainring associated with a Shimano 105 cassette which greatly damaged the cassette in question, as well as my chain and my rear derailleur. All the parts mentioned above had to be replaced by a line 105 which was supposed to be installed straight from the factory. I was therefore billed €250 for problems linked to incompatible parts installed by a Decathlon workshop. Apart from this very expensive problem, the bike rides very well (especially since I have a complete 105 line!)

A splendid entry level

I was looking for a bike to get closer to the world of cycling, I couldn't find a better product at an incredible price. The start was not encouraging due to a first model that arrived with a defect in one of the frame screws. The mix-up was immediately resolved by the staff at the Torri shop, who arranged for another one to arrive, apologizing for the mix-up and offering me free installation of the SPD pedals and bottle cages. Regarding the bike, the Shimano 105 group with original crankset is precise and reliable, requiring little maintenance. It's not exactly light, but with gears up to 34x32 you can tackle even the most brutal garage ramps! The aluminum frame offers sturdiness and, although not very reactive, offers good fun for sprints with friends! The hydro-mechanical brakes offer good and modulated braking, even on long descents (and with a fairly significant weight). Definitely satisfied with the purchase!

Problem changing inner tube

I bought this bike 3 years ago. Already 10,000 km on the clock. It's a very good bike even if over time, many parts need to be changed. The big problem I have with this one is changing the inner tube. I've had to go through it several times and it's always horrible. Often impossible alone, I have to ask for help to get there. Sometimes return to the store. The technicians have the technique but it's really complicated to acquire it. If you could make our lives easier, that would be great. For your information, I put marathon tires on my Triban.

10,000 kilometers later

It is a splendid beginner's bike to road cycling. Obviously it is not the lightest in the world, nor are the wheels wonderful (perhaps its weakest point), but for that price I highly doubt that you can find anything in 105, and the truth is that I have nothing against the Shimano Sora or against Tiagra, but 105 is another league. Geometry is ideal for beginners, or for older and/or mature people like me. In short, two years and some pedal happiness. By the way, if you change wheels the behavior of the bike improves a lot. For the users of my profile it would be a shame if it were removed from the Decathlon catalogue. Now what I wonder is why their carbon cousins have a much more aggressive geometry even though they are theoretically endurance bikes (if I'm not mistaken, the EDR and NCR have an identical geometry, and it is much more demanding than the this Triban).

Perfect for the first road

A very nice bike, especially for people starting their adventure with the road, almost full 105 group, good brakes and the ability to change to gravel when the road is not your world, make it an extremely universal and versatile equipment. I highly recommend it, it's hard to find something better in this price range.

Excellent bike but assembly to be reviewed

It came with two different tyres: 25mm front and 28mm rear

Great bike!

Wonderful racing bike for people who want the quality of a Shimano 105 and mechanical disc brakes, but don't want to spend too much money. Owned for 3 years now and driven more than 4000+ km. Original tires and parts still, no need to replace.
