i’m 5’4 1/2”, should I go ahead and get the large? Not the skinniest girl either, if that matters.

We would recommend taking the S size.

Very good

I walked 150 km in 6 days with a full backpack on my back and it was smooth sailing.

Practical bag

I had a hard time deciding given the diversity of choices in hiking bags at Decathlon, in the end I opted for this one. After several outings I am satisfied with it. Positive points: when I first took it in hand I found that it had fewer pockets than my old one, but each time I used it I discovered new pockets... in the end there is something to store and compartmentalizing is good. Good comfort, good ventilation. There is enough space and being able to play on the height is nice. Points to review: I am mixed on the choice between two sizes, I am 1.70 with a long and rather strong body so I opted for the L, I have the impression of floating a little. But perhaps I need to perfect the settings... I have doubts about the durability over time of the stretchable pockets, particularly for the water bottle, and overall the fabrics do not inspire confidence for crossing dense forests with brambles and other brush. In any case I confirm, and you will be able to see it in action on the Krapahut channel :)

Super price-quality ratio, the weight is also fine. I bought the third one in the family. We have been using two backpacks for three years and they are great. When compared to the competition, for example the Osprey Talon, which I also use, you don't need to spend so much money. An ideal backpack with a smaller volume, for example on the Czech Trail.

I'm not an expert but it's an excellent compromise to start with.

I would have preferred 2 pockets…

I would have preferred 2 equivalent side pockets to store water and balance weight

Just used the S size version for my Mt Kinabalu trip. My bag must have weighed around 5kg, but it didn’t feel that heavy as the waist and chest straps helped to distribute the weight away from my shoulders. The S size fit me well (my height: 152cm). It has many different compartments, and the waist compartments were good for keeping energy gels/sweets/snacks for quick access. The two pockets for bottles could hold a 1.2L bottle comfortably. It could also hold a 1.5L plastic bottle, but because of the bottle height, it could easily fall out if you leaned forwards. Next time, I would use 750ml bottles in these pockets because my arm kept hitting against the tops of the taler bottles, causing me to bruise on both arms when coming down the mountain. Other than that, I really like this bag.

perfectly worked

excellent purchase, beautifully compartmented, comfortable and smooth zips, easily distributed weight (and pleasant walking comfort), truly satisfying first experiences! The only thing that isn't too convincing is the apparently small (too?) difference from the 20l, it almost doesn't seem like it actually allows a 50% more load

We take care over abrasion resistance to make your bag durable. The heavy clothing R&D department, a Quechua partner for the research and validation of its components and assemblies, performs tests (on components, seams and the finished product) simulating the ageing of backpacks. Their results allow us to guarantee the bags tested for 10 years from the purchase date shown on the receipt.

Don't throw it, fix it!

Our products will join you on your mountain walks. As you progress, they age, and some parts can get worn or break. To make repairs easier, in the InchBag accessories / hiking trekkingInch, we sell tightening buckles and chest clips that are compatible with your bag. Don ftt throw away, repair !

What differences are there with the old mh500 bag?

The back of this new bag has been fully reworked for greater comfort: a tight net with frame gives you more space between your back and the bag to reduce the damp back effect. This net used for the back, called mesh, is also softer than previously. What's more, this new model comes in 2 sizes for small and large sizes. The 2 hip pockets are more spacious and stretchy and access to flask on the sides is easier.

Why 2 sizes?

During several field test sessions with hikers of different sizes, we noticed that between 20 and 40 litres, the difference in comfort was mainly linked to the back height of the bag: someone with a small frame feels better with a bag that doesn't have a very big back, and someone with a big frame with a larger back. We therefore offer all our models in 2 sizes to meet these requirements.

This bag can hold 1 litre, 2 litre or 3 litre pockets. However, although the pocket is voluminous, it will take up place that could be used for storing other belongings. The side pockets are designed for flasks of maximum 1 litre.

Why are our rain covers orange?

This is a deliberate choice as we believe it's important to stay visible in the mountains, even in fog, in case of any problem. This orange colour has the advantage of being visible from a helicopter. It's also a visible colour on the road if you use your bag when cycling.

Hand luggage

When you are travelling by plane, the authorised hand luggage size is 55x35x25cm3 maximum (warning, this can vary depending on the airline). This bag can be used as hand luggage, so long as you don't load the top too much.

How to pack my backpack?

AT THE BOTTOM of the bag, pack your sleeping material, and heavy material nearer the back. Slide your water pocket into the compartment.AT THE TOP of the bag, store your waterproof jacket and fleece within arm’s reach. In the pockets, you can put your sun cream, maps, cap and sunglasses. Cereal bars or your mobile phone can be stored in the belt pockets for quick access. The straps under the bag can also be used to attach a compact tent.

How do i adjust my backpack?

1 - Loosen all the straps (straps, hip belt, load adjuster straps). 2 - Put the backpack on. 3 - As this bag is small in volume, put the belt around the waist and tighten it. 4 -Tighten the shoulder straps. 5 - Adjust the load adjuster straps as needed.
