PERFECT !
after not having been on winter sports for 15 years, I wanted to start again with a new board. Because I have positive experience with material developed by Declahtlon itself (including various iSUPs) I dared to take this gamble. Bought just before the pandemic, which allowed me to use it only on the indoor courts for 2 years. Been to Austria again, so time for a review! I am 176cm tall, EU 41.5 boots (slim) and 65kg. I ended up with the 152cm version. Later I also tried the 153 medium wide, and I actually like it even more because I can drive it even more aggressively! The review is about the 152cm. What is striking is that the board is 149 cm long from nose to tail (it is a real twin, so there is actually no front or back). The sintered base is unique in this price range. And you will notice that, if waxed properly, by the good glide! I mounted my Burton Custom bindings at the suggested points in symmetrical duckstance +/-15°. Didn't use the setback. The board was primarily chosen because I wanted to learn how to ride switch, something I didn't do often before due to directional boards. In addition, I like to carve, and play a bit on the slopes and next to it. The board carves wonderfully well thanks to the camber and rocker in the nose and tail. It's not an absolute beginner's board, but it's fairly forgiving. Only with switch if I don't pay attention with sides does it sometimes go wrong. Depends entirely on the rider ;) You can carve long, wide turns. Also shorter turns by breaking out the rear. The edge change is not very easy, which I only noticed when driving switch. You usually have less power in that. Not a problem for me in itself, I like to send in aggressively which works fine. Also great grip on icy parts! Certainly with the experience with my older boards really a step forward. Only boards with a disruption in the steel side do better, but those are also factors more expensive (idea Declathlon?) The only striking thing about carving is that you don't build up pressure in the turn that would be useful during the edge change. Perhaps it has something to do with the ease with which the board absorbs bumps, etc. That was different with my older stiffer boards! You can also use it to jump over ramps, etc. Ollies are easy to do, but don't expect much spring action. The nose/tail feel a bit stiff, but there seems to be more flex between the bindings. Nose presses and butters are great on this board, but you can't get it far into the air. Still, I managed fine to ride switch using butters on the slopes. However, a tripod or something similar is difficult. I am very satisfied with the board, but would take the 153 next time. Later saw that thegoodride dot com had tested this board and many others. Cons? The glossy deck sheet. This is much too slippery for drag lifts and driving with 1 binding fixed.

The board is quite versatile but remains pleasant. However, it requires good practice to manage to handle it correctly.

If you, like me, have been snowboarding for 1-1.5 years and you are thinking about whether I should go freestyle or freeride and want to improve your technique, this is the board made for you. It doesn't vibrate when speeding, neither too hard nor too soft, and it doesn't look like a pile when you jump from somewhere. A quality snowboard for intermediate to advanced snowboarders.
It's been 3 years since I started with it and today I'm going at full speed, I really like its flexibility for jumps and enough lift for off-piste powder. I highly recommend for its versatility!

Good grip on ice, board easy to control, also goes in powder, light and manageable.
Very versatile playful board that responds well both on the piste with its well-sharpened edges and in powder with good lift. It was a treat! A bit small for me I had a 158 while my board is in 166.
Overall the rigidity is appreciable, compared to the endzone tested earlier and much more flex. This makes it more versatile especially since it is very stable and maneuverable. On the other hand, quite disappointed with the grip at the end of the day on hard snow.

What's the right size park & ride for me?
For Freestyle use, you can go for a relatively short board: choose a 20 or 25 cm drop (for example, a person who is 5' 7” tall should choose a board between 154 and 149 cm in length).A smaller board makes rotations and tricks easier. A bigger board will be more stable at high speed and when landing jumps. The Park & Ride should be quite short. The 158 Wide size is very well-suited to well-built users.

Programme/terrain
The Park & Ride is true to its name, it's as good in parks as on- and off-piste. In snow parks, it is particularly suitable for jumps (tables) and inspires confidence on landing. Its standard camber gives it pop for jumps and stability at full speed. The rocker makes for good handling, as well as buoyancy in powdery snow. Its Powder Stance makes it enjoyable in the powder snow in the same way as if you were using a freeride board.
Twintip directional snowboard
The shape of the snowboard is Twin Tip: The board's sidecuts are completely symmetrical between front and rear, providing perfect symmetry and centring of the board's features for riding in both directions in the same way. For even greater versatility, we have shifted the inserts by 20 mm, making the Park&Ride a ”false” twintip, just directional enough to ride in the park without issues.
Standard camber + rocker
All the advantages of both the standard camber (thanks to the board's elasticity, a standard camber serves as a spring to provide grip on all types of snow, edge-to-edge dynamism and recoil when coming out of turns) and the rocker (under constraint, the board's points of contact with the snow come closer together, making the board more manageable). The rocker elongates and raises the nose so that it can glide better over powder.
Medium and versatile flex (6/10)
Flex is the stiffness of the board between the front and rear. The flex of the Park&Ride is about 6/10, which is medium and versatile. It is reliable in carved turns while also being forgiving of edge mistakes.
Medium and versatile torsion (6/10)
The torsion, i.e. the torsional stiffness of the board between the feet, is about 6/10 on the Park & Ride, which is fairly stiff for good hold in the curves, recovery coming out of a turn and responsive edge transition. It is also flexible enough for some freestyle riding. It's the medium torsional stiffness that gives the Park & Ride good all-round handling without making it a jib board.
