Question:

how much does this weigh?

Answer:

12.9KG or 28.5 lbs

By Olivier on July 10, 2023 | STAFF

Question:

Where can I get a rear rack compatible with this bike?

Answer:

Because it is a folding bike, rear racks are not easily installed. I have seen seatpost mounted racks (using a quick release) on these bikes which can be easily removed when you want to fold the bike.

Question:

What’s the weight limit?

Answer:

This Bicycle has a maximum weight capacity of 220lbs.

After 5 years of use rating: Excellent

I have been using it practically every day for 5 years, both for going to work and for walks. Traveling several thousand km per year. Without defects. I highly recommend it (Robust, easy to handle and more economical than other more expensive ones that I have owned in the past and which instead turned out to be full of defects.)

Great folding bike

Very good value

BTWIN folding bike

Fantastic bike, easy to fold and transport. Great price and the Decathlon experience was so easy and pleasant.

Tire’d and Tested

I had high hopes for this bike bought on the 23rd September 2023. Needed something compact to take me to and from work within the levels of path and roads with some inclines. Week one, whilst on commute the bike seat/post dropped from beneath me. It took a few rides thereafter to keep tightening the stem seat clamp. I am lightweight in size. Week two, the Frame Hinge Kit malfunctioned. Unable to open the bike to secure the hinge to ride the bike. The bucket had worked its way in-between the two metal frames. I couldn't fold it either. After some time spent I managed to manipulate the hinge back into place. Week three, the back wheel had a flat. Without any tools to hand (I was finishing work for the day) I resorted to taking the bus and taking the bike with me. On collapsing the bike I struggled to keep it in the folded position. It was at this point I notice that the magnetic metal plate component was missing from the rear. A less than satisfactory experience. I visited the store where I bought the bike from. Told I would have to cover the costs of the magnetic part which they have no date when this would be available in store. After explaining that the bike was three weeks old, still no resolution. My time spent was not worthwhile. Saddle-ly this is my experience with Decathlon customer service, it's an up-hill climb and that's before you hop on the bike. In conclusion I have a nearly new bike currently not fit for purpose. I hope that in writing this I am heard and that a fair deal is reached.

Beautiful

I have been using it for 1 year, but I started making noise from the fork, I took it to Decathlon, they did it again, but the same noise started again, but the product is generally very good. I haven't ridden anything other than a folding bike for 3-4 years.

Good investment!

Very satisfied with my purchase.

Damn good bike!!

Almost two years and he is amazing!! I do between 40 and 70km per week with it, it is the bike for my commute to work where I take the train with it. No punctures, no complaints at all about the quality!! I maintain it very regularly, I believe it is the key to a folding bike in very good working order.

NOT DURABLE

It is lightweight and does not take up space because it folds, but it is a flimsy product for a country like Turkey, where even bicycle paths have potholes and depressions. I bought it 10 days ago and the rear wheel keeps falling off.

Good bike

Value for money

Compatible with any paint

I can use it with my height of 188, as well as a person with a height of 160. Just download and remove the bin. I am enjoying it very much. I used it actively for a while and it added color to my life. Since there is no shock absorber, the road feels a lot, but it is not a problem.

Waste of money

The parts were damaged still decathlon not ready to fix it, they charged for the part on the day 1 of usage. It’s a useless brand and company. Decathlon is not doing a good job in bike segment, many other brands and shops are better than this.

Exactly what I wanted

I'd been after a bike that I could store easy, take on public transport, but also be able to enjoy riding. Brompton's are considered #1 in the folding market, but very expensive. I'd done some research and this bike seemed a good alternative at a reasonable price. I've found it's much better than I thought it would be to ride. I've done 15+ mile days with no issues on different types of terrain (roads, canal paths). Its actually better than a Brompton to ride due to having seven gears (vs three) and bigger wheels (20 inch vs 16 inch). The main drawback is its a bit heavy to carry about and doesn't fold as compact. But it does the job for me and I'd rather sacrifice some of that compactness for a better riding experience.

Drivetrain

Its 7-speed Shimano SIS allows the Hoptown 500 to adapt easily to most gradients. The Shimano Revo-Shift grip shifter is ergonomic and precise. Meters of development: 2.96 m / 5.90 m.

Brakes

Steel V-brake and calipers guarantee effective and progressive braking.

Fork

Hi-ten steel fork for greater durability.

Handlebar / stem / steering

Slightly raised handlebars for a good cycling position and to improve the maneuverability of the bike. Handlebar width: 560 mm. The handlebars are equipped with a 60 mm rise to easily adjust position backward or forward. Aluminum stem fixed in place with rapid locking mechanism for greater rigidity compared to a height-adjustable stem. Ergonomic grips.Distance from saddle to handlebar: 540 mm. Bottom bracket to saddle distance: 480 mm to 700 mm.Semi-integrated headset.

Saddle / seat post

Comfortable, seamless foam saddle to stop water from getting in.Anti-theft and anti-rotation seat post measuring 31.6 mm in diameter.
