It appears that the material is coated, and water beads and roll off the material.
We ended up wearing these shorts every day on holiday, not just for swimming.
These are great shorts however you will need at least 1 size bigger than you usually use. Also when I went back to get another pair, the new shipment was very different. The new ones are made in a different place. They are not such a bright colour, and the material feels stiffer and harder. I would not buy the new ones so I am not recommending this product.
These would have been great if they had fitted way to small, must have been sized incorrectly.
