Great all-around shoe

I only hike occasionally, and it's exactly the right compromise. Comfortable, stiff enough to send on track at high speed and great for the few hikes I've done in 2 years. Once the shoes were thermoformed, I was finally able to ski 9 hours a day every Sunday without having shredded shins on Monday morning.

Despite wearing big socks, pain above the outside ankle from the first ski touring outing. The shoe fits very well on touring skis, no problem when putting on or taking off. This product is suitable for a discovery or for beginners, but is not very comfortable for a regular....

The best when you know what you're buying.

You shouldn't expect real hiking shoes, but on the basis of this principle, they are ideal for my use. I mainly do freerando, and they are perfect for that. A blister on the first outing, but once you have found the right socks (thin) and the right tightening, no more problems. And at the top for the descent, great foot support, and good rigidity that allows you to engage hard. (I should point out that I have a thermoformed SIDA sole, also found at decathlon) In short, an excellent compromise for those who, like me, prefer to drool on the climb, but enjoy a maximum on the descent ;-)

Not suitable for my foot

I made 2 outings and it will be the last. I have blisters all over my feet and have not been able to properly tighten the shoe so that there is no friction and eliminate the pressure points on the inside of the foot. 2 days later I still have pain. First time I have a problem with decathlon shoes. Otherwise downhill the shoes are very rigid.

Poor quality beware

The boots are sold with the ski touring toe pieces installed. My first use was to be in alpine mode, so I started changing the stops following the instructions. A thread is simply wobbly, it moves in the shoe. I'm not used to seeing this very low level of quality on decathlon products, I'm very disappointed. And I'm already there to ski and there is no rental equipment here, very bad experience.

Very good shoes Comfortable Perfect for thin feet

good, cheap, variable, a bit heavy

What's tricky is the option to convert it into a normal ski boot

Good value for money

Shoes used on several outings whether on track, hiking, glacier, steep slope and mountaineering. Being able to change the soles or super practical but necessarily induces some limits, the hiking sole has a very thin band and absorbs very little shock, making it thicker would be a plus (vibram type) In addition the shoes (even after thermoforming) are painful at the level of the malleolus (it may be that it is the shape of my foot but it did not happen to me on my old shoes), At the level of the perf it is honest, easy to hold on to Very rigid and nervous at the descent with a lot of control

Excellent value

After 30,000 m of elevation climbed with these shoes, I highly recommend! - When climbing, the weight and travel are correct, consistent with the price. The liner is very warm and comfortable (after thermoforming). - On the descent, the sensations are very similar to alpine ski boots of the same price. The quality/price ratio is therefore excellent on this mid-range model. After 40 outings in temperatures rarely exceeding -10°C, the inner pivot left on both shoes and the foam was badly damaged at the level of the Achilles tendon. (Super after-sales service that changed both shoes for me!). A reinforcement of the liner at this friction point and stronger pivots would be a big plus for this already great shoe.

GOOD PRICE GOOD PERFS PAINFUL POINT

Selling price very well placed. Good build quality, pleasant to use, very good downhill control but pressure point inside both heels which leads to blisters every time you use them despite wearing anti-blister socks. What should be done to remove this point? What solution does DECATHLON offer?

good compromise value for money

not the lightest shoe on the market but at a reasonable price tested 4 days in a raid with an average drop of 1300m per outing warming up in the foot but after thermoforming the slippers in the nickel oven

I tested the boots around Ještěd and I'm still testing them.

The shoes for this price are priceless. They fit and took shape on my feet, only after the second ascent and I didn't have to use baking as stated in the instructions. They are absolutely amazing, they hold like nails when descending. When climbing, I noticed that they are rubbing where the tongue of the shoe + the joint is, but that is only a cosmetic defect :-) . A blast for beginners and advanced players. Hi Petr.Z.

The perfect combination

Perfect boot with compatibility for alpine and touring bindings with pins.

What is the flex?

To provide an indication of rigidity, brands assign a flex rating to every boot. This figure determines the rigidity of the whole boot: the higher its value, the stiffer the shell. It is generally considered that a flex of 70 is for average to intermediate level skiers. A flex from 70 to 90 is for intermediate skiers. Beyond this value, the products are aimed at advanced skiers. Well-built skiers can go up 1 level.

How do you try on ski boots?

Once your foot is in the boot, fasten the buckles to the midpoint. Can you go further? This means the volume of the boot isn't right for you. Once the boot is closed, you must flex the boots 3 times by pressing hard on the shins (put your hands on your knees to help) and push your heel backward inside the boot. Stand up: your foot should brush against the front of the shell. When you flex, your foot should move backward so you can no longer feel the end.

How to get your ski boots on easily?

Pull the tongue forward and toward the outside of the feet: this allows you to fully open up the shell and facilitates foot entry.

Suitable for freestyle

When you fit the Alpine standard soles (sold with the boots), these boots can also be used for Freestyle skiing.

How to change my back country soles for alpine soles?

How to make a ski boot more comfortable?

There are many options for making your foot more comfortable in a ski boot. A ski boot must be tight fitting. To improve the support, you can get soles that are tailored to the shape of your foot arch, volume reducers and heel boosters.

How to avoid having cold feet?

Although it is often forgotten, drying the liner is the most effective way to avoid having cold feet. Even at 14°F, the foot sweats and the liner cannot dry by itself in its plastic shell, even over several days. Ideally, you should remove it each day. There is the option to use boot dryers that are more convenient because there is no need to remove the liner, you just plug them in!

Storage instructions

Dry your boots before storing them. Store them with the hooks closed in a ski boot bag and in a warm room.
