What is the advantage of a feather jacket?
Recognized as must-haves for their insulation properties, down and feathers offer an unparalleled warmth-to-weight ratio. A feather and down filling is highly compressible, light and warm, for a lightweight yet very insulating product.
Water often gets in through the seams. Does my jacket have waterproof seams?
The Slide 700 Warm jacket offers a top-quality down finish. The traditional seams have been replaced with a hot-melt system. This offers 2 advantages: not only is the product significantly more waterproof, but the absence of seams also makes the product totally hermetic and greatly reduces loss of feathers.
What is a membrane and what's it for?
The membrane is a very thin component applied to the inner surface of the outer fabric. It is hydrophilic and blocks the water arriving from the exterior while evacuating perspiration produced by the body within. The membrane is essential when it comes to staying warm and dry.
How can I be sure my jacket will protect me well in bad weather?
The Slide 700 jacket was rigorously developed and assembled to prevent water from entering and to feel the wind less, to help you cope with bad weather (rain, snow, wind, etc.). To check that it is waterproof, this jacket was placed in a special shower reproducing the conditions a skier has to cope with. We approved this product's waterproofness by skiing in different weather conditions for several days.
How can I best insulate my extremities?
The cuffs have adjustable velcro tabs that go on or underneath the gloves providing a better seal, so that snow and unpleasant cold draughts cannot get in. And because the cold can cause irritation, Wed'ze has included soft, fleece chin protection to protect your face and prevent irritation to your neck and chin.
How should I dress to avoid feeling cold on the slopes?
"To keep warm and dry, use the 3-breathable-layers rule: 1 ski undergarment and 1 under-jacket to retain warmth, 1 ski jacket to protect you from bad weather.
How can I prevent snow from getting in when I fall?
The snow skirt is a protection system at waist level that closes with press snaps at the bottom of the ski or snowboard jacket. It prevents snow and air from entering during practice and especially in case of falling.
Where can I put my ski pass when taking ski lifts?
You no longer need to get out your ski pass! Your sleeve has a ski pass pocket, allowing you to access lifts quickly.
How can I be sure my jacket is strong enough?
We know how much energy is expended during a day's skiing or snowboarding. That’s why we take particular care in choosing all the elements that make up our products to guarantee the best possible protection.
All Wed'ze products are designed and developed in the Mont Blanc Valley. They are then tested in conditions identical to their target use (snow, cold weather, powder etc.) Our design teams ensure that the product is fit for purpose and able to withstand real-life conditions.
