Product Customer Reviews

good value for money, comfortable to wear
very good helmet
One of the main advantages and the fact that I manage to hear my outside environment despite the low precision. It would be a plus to be able to remove part of the protection at the level of the ears.
Great product
Perfect, light, warm
Helmet compliant in performance with regard to the price Use for leisure skiing
Good product
Very happy with this helmet
well-fitting and light helmet

Good product
The ventilation should be further improved. Good product overall.
A carrying bag would be a plus to avoid scratches, blows and premature wear on the aesthetic side. We took a motorcycle helmet bag to protect it during transport. Otherwise product corresponding to our expectation.

Additional Product Information
Composition
Foam: 100.0% Polystyrene - Expanded ; Shell: 50.0% Polycarbonate, 50.0% Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene ; Main lining: 100.0% Polyurethane
Adjustment wheel
The adjustment wheel plays a key role in keeping your helmet secure. This system can be easily and precisely adjusted at any time using the easily accessible dial that you can even use with your ski gloves. This makes it comfortable to use and provides maximum safety. Turn the dial to the right to tighten and to the left to loosen.
Recco system
The RECCO® search and rescue system features dual technology which supports the majority of ski resort rescue teams. The RECCO® detector used by rescue teams emits a directional signal. The RECCO® reflector built into the jacket returns the signal. This generates an audible sound that guides rescue personnel directly to the person needing assistance. Before any off-piste outing, make sure you get the information you need from the professionals at the resort.
Hybrid construction
The upper part of the FR 500 ski helmet is in ABS (resistance), and the lower part in In-Mold (low weight). The ABS construction (rigid shell) is a little heavier but increases the protection against penetration (branch, stones, etc.) The In-Mold construction has an outer polycarbonate shell that is molded directly onto the EPS shell. The inner EPS liner absorbs shocks in the event of a collision. The whole thing is extremely lightweight.
En 1077 standard
Standard EN 1077 is a European standard that applies to helmets used for cranial protection during downhill skiing and snowboarding. This standard tests the ability to absorb shocks and resistance to penetration. There are 2 categories:- Class A: Protects the top and back of the head, as well as the ears and the side of the head.- Class B: Protects the top and back of the head but doesn't cover the ears.
What size?
* Measure your head’s circumference in centimeters (around the middle of the forehead and just above the ears). * Choose the size that covers this measurement. Example: If you have a head circumference of 56 cm, you should try a helmet in size 55-59 cm.
Fitting
Take plenty of time to try it on properly. You shouldn't feel any areas of discomfort. If you do, then try another model. Always try your helmet with your mask, because not all helmets go with all masks. A helmet is compatible with a ski mask when there is no air space between the top of the mask and the helmet.
Helmet adjustment
During practice, the ski helmet must be properly fitted and adjusted:* It is essential to choose the right size.* The head circumference must be adjusted using the thumb wheel.* The chinstrap must be properly adjusted. It's a bit like the seat belt in a car: If it’s too loose, it will not perform its function and you will be less protected.
Safety
Avoid putting a thick hat under your helmet as this will move the helmet away from your head and you won't be as well protected. Opt instead for a very thin beanie or balaclava that does not affect your safety. A helmet has good insulating properties. There is often no point in adding anything else. Also, avoid adding a camera to your helmet as this can affect safety. The standard does not take into account any elements added to the helmet.
Ease of use
Removable and machine washable liner hat and ears at 30°C.Use only soapy water and a soft cloth to clean your helmet.
Product testing
All Wedze products are tested under the actual conditions of use for which they were designed: in the snow, in the cold, and in all possible conditions you could come across when skiing. The design teams, product managers, engineers, and pattern makers make sure that the program for which the product was designed and developed perfectly matches its use in the field.
Storage instructions
Do not store in a damp place, near a source of heat or UV rays. Dry before storing, preferably in a fabric helmet bag.
