About this item:
- Comfort temperature when stationary: 9°F. On the move -8°F. We chose a warm lining that has insulation to give you effective protection from the cold.
- Grip with Snowcontact technology: materials and tread pattern of the soles. Optimizes propulsion, prevents the boot from slipping backward when going uphill, and stabilizes the boot.
- Waterproof and breathable membrane for keeping your feet dry.
- Waterproofness test, we test 3 levels of waterproofness: 2000 flexes (about 2.5-mile walk), 4000 flexes (about 5-mile walk), and 8000 flexes (about 10-mile walk). Your boots were tested to 4,000 flexes, which is equivalent to 5 miles of walking.
- TractionThe location and depth of the 3.5 mm studs provide traction on snow. Prevents the boot from slipping and skidding on the smooth ground or in demanding conditions (rain, snow, ice) by giving the sole grip.

Product Customer Reviews

Boots well suited to walking on snow. Warm and comfortable
Buy and use in Paris during snow periods. Hot. Light and comfortable to wear
Good compromise between quality and price
I wear size 43. I ordered the product online and it was too tight. I returned it back. I think it would fit a size 45. So, when you buy it, I recommend buying a size or two larger.
Amazing!
They are not waterproof, very fragile zipper
I'm normally a shoe size 42, but I bought the shoes a size larger only to find that they were too small for me. Hit the front with your toes, very narrow shoe. Zipper identified as a weak point, water penetrates over time.
They correspond to their description, warm and with good waterproofing.
I recommend
tt ok
The zip is a little uncomfortable, perhaps it would be better on the inside
My foot is supposed to be a 42, but the 44 turned out to be good for me. I will also wear it as a woman, I like it.
very good value for money and after a time of adaptation it should provide the service provided for my daily walks
Very pleasant
I had a version of these boots for several years and I don't remember this stiffness, apparently a piece was added in the seam at the back of the boot about 15cm measured on a size 42. This piece stiffens the passage of the heel and I had to be reimbursed for the first pair purchased in Albertville because this part, which was much too rigid, was deformed and caused an injury to the Achilles tendon (painful but not serious). I therefore went up to Chambéry (Bassens) thinking that it was a defect due to delivery from Albertville but not all boots are made like this. Fortunately the news doesn't hurt me but the rigidity is there.

Additional Product Information
Composition
Outer sole of: 100.0% Synthetic Rubber ; Upper of: 80.0% Polyester, 20.0% Polyurethane ; Lining and sock of: 100.0% Polyester
Can i be sure that my boots are warm enough for my winter hikes?
We chose a warm lining that has insulation to give you effective protection from the cold. We tested it in the laboratory and in the field with our user representatives. We checked the temperature down to which it stays comfortable when you're stationary and when you're walking, as this varies a lot: -13°C when static and -22°C on the move. We also took into account how temperature is felt differently by men and women.
How do my boots protect me from outdoor conditions?
Your boots are designed with a membrane to guarantee waterproofing and breathability. A membrane is a very fine component (5 to 25 micrometres) affixed to the inside of a fabric that prevents water from entering while allowing moisture to escape.
How can i be sure my boots are 100% waterproof?
We made sure that your boots are waterproof by conducting laboratory tests to simulate walking with the boots half-submerged in water. We also conducted field tests to measure wear and ageing. During the waterproofing test, we test 3 levels of waterproofing: 2,000 flexes (approx. 4 km walk), 4,000 flexes (approx. 8 km walk) and 8,000 flexes (approx. 16 km walk). Your boots were tested to 4000 flexes, which is equivalent to 8 km of walking.
What is the difference between traction and grip?
The boots’ traction depends on the number and shape of the studs. The grip is dependent on the materials of the sole and the tread pattern, like the tyres of your car. Traction optimises propulsion, prevents the boot from slipping backwards when going uphill and stabilises the boot. Grip prevents the boot from slipping and skidding on smooth ground or in demanding conditions (rain, snow, ice) by giving the sole grip.
Will my boots withstand regular use over the long term?
Our engineers conduct laboratory tests to ensure that the product fully complies with your satisfaction in use. Our verifications include the following elements: tearing eyelets and straps, gluing, toxicology, UV resistance, abrasion resistance of outsole and upper components, accelerated ageing.
How do i choose the right footwear for snow hiking?
To gear up in the winter, we recommend you follow the following principles : Warmth: warmth provided by a warm pair of socks (ideally containing a suitable percentage of wool)Breathability: Choose the sock according to the intensity of the hike and make sure you wear a breathable model to minimise moisture.Boot height: adapt the height of the sock to the height of the upper and preferably choose high models if you want more protection.
How to preserve the technical qualities of my boots?
A fabric's water repellent property is its capacity to make water run off its surface without seeping in. As a result, the fabric does not soak up water & stays light, breathable & warm. The water repellent property is achieved by treating the fabric's exterior. This treatment needs to be renewed during the lifetime of the garment. Products (spray or liquid) for this purpose are available in our stores.
How to dry the inside of your boot.
In use, the boot can become damp (condensation and perspiration)If the boot is very wet, we advise you to remove the insole, fill the upper with newspaper balls and change them regularly. The paper will pump out moisture and speed up drying.Never bring the boots too close to a heat source, but leave them in a warm, dry and ventilated place.
Product testing
Our Decathlon Sportslab laboratory, based in Lille, also contributes to the innovation and development of our Quechua products. It brings together 4 themes, each with their own area and technological tools:Body shape (in particular from 3D analysis)Movement scienceThermal comfort (with its four climatic chambers)Behavioural and sensory sciencesIn particular, we test the holding of seams, gluing, toxicology, resistance to UV and abrasion.
