Product Customer Reviews

For the money, this is really great! I just took a walk around the neighborhood with it. It's cold, about 48 degrees. this warmed me up nicely thru the walk. only complaint (and it's small) is that the nylon material on the collar was cold from the wind and when it touched my neck it was a bit cold. That sensation went away as i walked; probably because my body warmed it up. But initially this was slightly uncomfortable. I may glue a warmer material to the inside of the collar to solve this.
Neat, stylish, lots of pockets and keeps you completely warm even for long periods of time. Amazing jacket.
I had one of Decathlon’s better padded jackets, but I found it to bulky/padded and too hot. This with a base layer is perfect just the right amount of warmth, good resistance to wind. For this price amazing value. Fault? Mine arrived bundled up with elastic around it. When unwrapped it is covered in creases after 2 weeks or more these creases have not dropped out. They may if washed, but do not want to do this so early. Is there another way these could be packed. I would still recommend
It's not a down jacket and it has its limitations but considering the price I am pleased with it. On my most recent camping trip the temperatures were down around 2-3 °C and the jacket worked well with my base and mid-layers to keep me warm. So I would recommend this coat but if you can afford it, I'd still suggest buying a down jacket - or maybe have both for different weather conditions.
For the price, this is a great item, lightweight, ideal for trekking and cycling
Quite good for the price. Fits and looks well.
Great jacket bought as an under layer jacket for work in the winter , , light , not bulky , very good value for money , so I bought another one
Bought for my dog training classes where sometimes other dogs jump up and catch your clothing. I wanted something warm and cheap. This jacket completely filled the bill.
Brought this as a 2nd or 3rd layer and was surprised how warm this is under my waterproof jacket. Perfect for those cooler autumn nights when worn as a 2nd or 3rd layer. My own little quibble as that I'm a small it was a little on the tight side and the arms were little long for a medium , but for the price - hey what's not to love? Especially how really good value for money this jacket is!
Good value jacket does the job fine. The medium size is slightly small on me but Decathlon sizes are usually on the small size. If in doubt always go up a size.
Bought as a cheap lightweight spare jacket to go in the boot of the car. Ended up forgetting to pack anything else, so this has been my only jacket while on holiday on the Orkney island group. I've found this jacket to be great value for money. It's wind resistance is great, and it coped with 40 minutes of heavy driving rain perfectly well. While i'd not recommend this jacket for extreme environments, coupled with a pair of inner layers, and a rain shell, it's done it's job admirably well within it's design. Generous side pockets, but no inside pocket. No bells or whistles, hood, drawstring, etc but none of that matters at this price point.
Very comfy, light everyday jacket. Not worn in very bad weather, but isn't sold as an extreme jacket! Very good value
spot on for what we need and delivered very quickly.
Very light, but quite warm Excellent value for money.

Thermal insulation
This padded jacket, when worn as a 3rd layer, has a temperature rating of 32°F that was certified during a standardized test in a thermal chamber. The model is wearing a synthetic long-sleeved T-shirt and a light fleece underneath. It works with a simulated 3 mph wind. In our heat comparison tool, this is equivalent to 1 star. We also tested this model under "static" conditions; its temperature rating is +18°F in this case.
Technical information on the fill
We use a 100% polyester fill (90% recycled): 3.5 oz/m² in the body and 2.1 oz/m² in the sleeves.
Do you know why the inner lining of your padded jacket is gray?
Because the fabric we use reduces CO2 emissions by 40%. The fabric used is innovative because it mixes a self-dyed black thread and an undyed thread. Compared to a conventional dyeing process, this process also reduces by: - 66% fine particle emissions (PM2.5) - 74% Eutrophication of fresh water - 68% eutrophication of sea water
Our advice in the event of rain
The material of the quilted jacket is water-repellent. This means that drops of water roll off the fabric preventing them from soaking into the padded jacket as quickly, giving you time to find some shelter. But the padded jacket is not waterproof. We therefore recommend wearing a waterproof jacket over the padded jacket in the event of prolonged exposure to rain.
Water-repellent properties of the component (not to be confused with waterproofing)
The water-repellent property of a fabric is its ability to make water run off its surface without absorbing it. This prevents the fabric from soaking up water and keeps it lightweight and warm. The fabric is made water-repellent by treating its outer surface; however, this property may deteriorate with use. We recommend that you renew after each wash
How to restore the water-repellent properties?
Follow the guide! https://www.quechua.co.uk/advice/how-do-you-restore-water-repellent-properties-your-jacket-a_86426 And use the care product: Wash-in product for reactivating the water-repellent properties https://www.decathlon.co.uk/eco-wash-in-proof-250-ml-id_8408883.html
The benefits of synthetic fill
The fill is an effective alternative to feathers: - it has good thermal insulation, even when wet - it provides some breathability and is suitable for dynamic physical activities (given that feathers are recommended for static activities) - it is easy care: machine wash at 86°F and tumble dry
A score for comparing products' environmental impact
The environmental impact of the product is calculated based on its entire lifecycle and using different indicators. An overall score from A to E is given to help you easily identify the most eco-friendly products by comparing products of the same type (T-shirts, pants, backpacks, etc.).
