A word from the product manager
We wanted to create a versatile board for people not attracted to the park. This board is adapted to a practice on track but also off-track with ease. And enjoyable! It was prototyped 100% in our design center, Mountain Store Passy in Haute-Savoie, before being tested in stations near our offices throughout its development.
The Serenity 500 is the ultimate All Mountain board: 50% track and 50% off-piste. You go everywhere, on all snow, on track, off-piste, and powder, of course. Do not use in parks: it is not intended for use on modules or for backward riding.
The shape of the board is directional, i.e. the board has a nose and tail. It is not symmetrical; the back of the board is slightly narrower than the front, the bindings and the contact points of the snowboard (setback) are a bit behind. A directional shape offers better grip when cornering, better trajectory management and better recovery when exiting a turn.
Standard camber + rocker
We keep all the advantages of the classic camber (thanks to the elasticity of the board, a classic camber acts as a spring to give grip on all the snow, the dynamism in edge-to-edge passage and recovery output turnaround) with in addition those of the rocker (under stress, the contact points of the board on the snow come closer and the board becomes more manageable). The rocker elongates and raises the nose so that it can glide better over powder.
Flex medium and versatile
The flex is the stiffness of the board between the front and rear. The flex of the Serenity 500 is about 3/5, which is medium and versatile. It brings a healthy behavior in cut corners but also a tolerance to edge errors.
Versatile and medium torsion
The torsion, stiffness of the board in torsion between the feet, is about 3/5 on the Serenity 500, which is stiff enough for a good behavior in curve, of the restart at the end of the turn and the nervousness in passage from square to square. This also gives the board a confirmed expert level while remaining very accessible physically.
Setback 15 mm
The setback is when the points of support of the board on the snow are not symmetrical with respect to the center of board but shifted toward the back. The bindings are also set back toward the rear by the same distance. 15 mm setback = significant decline for directional boards. It provides better curvature and lift in powder as the weight is on the back of the board and therefore naturally, the front lifts.
Size (152 cm) Width before 279 mm. Center 240 mm. Rear 279 mm. Radius 26' (8.0 m). Effective square 1,097 mm. No. of inserts: 8 + 8 (3 possible positions per binding/40 mm between each). Recommended stance: 515 mm.
Sold in pack with "Illusion 500" binding with spoiler typed track, off-piste
It's an Illusion 700 without the EVA Full Pad with: - 3D foam ankle strap that hugs the shoe offering perfect support. The foam makes it possible to hold very tightly and to maintain a super comfort - front strap in cap strap positioned on the toes only for incredible comfort and support - easy opening system Turn Strap to no longer have the strap that impedes the insertion of the shoe (147 cm, 152 cm, 157 cm): fastening size M adapted to sizes 5.5 to 10.5 (EU 36 to 42)
When to wax your snowboard?
Wed'ze planks come out of the factory waxed. They then require regular maintenance like all snowboards and skis: ideally, waxing every 5 outlets and at least once a year: - either at the beginning of the season to start with a very good glide - or at the end of the season allowing the wax to protect the sole all summer long
Sliding quality: extruded sole + graphite
The soles are made of polyethylene but according to 2 different technical processes: - extruded sole, with some density of polyethylene - sintered sole, with a greater density of polyethylene (fewer holes, more PE) This sole has black bands containing graphite on the side where there is the most friction. This band is harder, more slippery and more durable in time than a simple extruded sole.
Which Size to choose for my Serenity 500?
In All Mountain, one chooses -15 cm or -20 cm from their height (for example, someone of 5'8" (172 cm) can take a board between 152 cm and 157 cm. As there is rocker on the Serenity, you can take it a little bigger. Taking a smaller one makes the practice easier. This is also advised for people who are light for their height. Taking it bigger allows you to be more stable at high speed. 147 cm: 5'3" to 5'6" 152 cm: 5'5" to 5'8" 157 cm: 5'7" to 5'10"
Chassis : 70.0% Polyamide 6, Chassis : 20.0% Stainless steel, Chassis : 10.0% Foamed EVA Deck : 34.0% Fiberglass, Deck : 33.0% Epoxy, Deck : 33.0% Wood - Hard
Dry edges at the end of the day to prevent rust. Ideally, wax every 5 outings. Storing for the summer: keep away from sunlight, you can leave your bindings on the board.
