Product Customer Reviews

Seem greats boots for a newish (not quite new enough to snowsports to want to put my feet in rental boots!) snowboarder me. Dead easy to thermoform and the adjustment system makes it easy to ger a nice snug fit.
Bought for my son who's really pleased with the boots

A word from the product manager
The All Road 500 snowboard boot was improved with the help of your product reviews. From the 2019/20 season, we replaced the padding of the liner with a softer foam, which is still thermoformable, delivering superior comfort for everyone. For the 2020/21 season, we changed the boot by placing the tightening knob on the side, to prevent any contact between the tightening knob and shin rip-tab. Enjoy your ride.
Tightening system cable lock - 2 zones
_ Cable Lock: very powerful cable tightening knob. _ 2Z = 2 tightening zones. The tightening of the knob is focused on the instep to provide good support, and the rip-tab at the top prevents unwanted shin movements inside the snowboard boots. During the design work, we did a lot of testing with and without the rip-tab on the top of the boot. It provided so much support that we kept it.
Boot flex/stiffness
The All Road 500 offers a medium flex (5/10). It’s for people who take turns at high speeds (need a stiff boot) while also providing quick handling in tight turns or surprise bumps, where you need to rapidly bend and extend your legs. The flex and heel support are both superior to the Foraker 300 boot.
Heel support: level 2 (/3) liner
Foot support is essential when snowboarding, to be able to correctly steer your board (foot in the liner, and liner in the boot). The level 2 liner applies 5 concepts: 1. liner that can be thermoformed at home 2. "Ergonomic Heel Pad" 3. 2-point + strap liner tightening system, 4. Hook and Loop Link between the boot and the liner 5. double layer of foam at the tongue on the instep, delivering support and comfort.
1. thermoforming of the liner at home / warning
THERMOFORMING IS ONLY POSSIBLE IN BUILT-IN 22" x 23.6" x 22" CONVECTION OVENS. DO NOT TRY IN A GAS OVEN OR A MINI OVEN WITH VISIBLE HEATING ELEMENTS.
1. thermoforming the liner by yourself / instructions
1. Heat your oven to 175°F with the fan on 2. Remove the insoles of the liners, and place the liners on a baking sheet with some greaseproof baking paper 3. Wait 15 min 4. Put the insoles back in. Put on a pair of ski-snowboard socks. Put on the liners and tighten fully. 5. Put the boots on, tighten them up fully, and wait for 15 minutes, without moving You can repeat the process if you feel discomfort or a lack of support.
2. ergonomic heel pad ankle foam
The ankle bone padding fills the hollow under and behind the ankle to hold the heel firmly in place. The level 2 liner contains a foam made in an exclusive Wed'ze material and shape: - the shape is based on an average of 40 foot scans. It’s perfect for holding the foot in place and adapts to everyone - the material: a soft but firm elastomer foam. You can feel the support as soon as you slip your feet inside. And when you ride, there are no hard points.
3. 2-point + strap liner tightening
On this liner, we retained only 2 tightening points with laces: - at the instep, - above the ankle bone. At the top of the boot, we replaced the 3rd lacing point with a powerful tightening strap. We therefore reduced the friction of the laces (2 points instead of 3) and focused the tightening force to provide heel support. On the upper part, the strap locks the liner even more tightly to the shin.
4. hook and loop link between the liner and boot
We added a rip-tab on the back between the liner and the boot. The aim? To stop the liner from slipping inside the boot so that you can control your board better, because it’s not enough just to hold your foot in the liner: If the liner moves inside the boot, you’ll be less able to control your board properly.
5. double layer of foam at the tongue on the instep
We added a 2nd layer of foam on the tongue at the instep for 2 reasons: - to increase the foot support at the bottom of the liner - to increase comfort by preventing the lace from cutting off the blood flow in this high-pressure area
Insole
The insole of this boot is flat. It offers comfort and thermal insulation. If you really feel the need for added support for your foot in the liner, you have 2 options: - get an insole with a pre-formed foot arch and heel - get an insole that can be thermoformed to suit your foot. This is the most effective solution.
Sole: traction, grip, cushioning, and thermal insulation
Our Ultralight sole is only made of EVA. EVA is a very light material made of 80% air. This formulation is designed to resist abrasion while retaining its cushioning properties. It is naturally very insulating and protects you against the cold coming up from the ground. We designed the knobby lugs to provide very good grip. Sufficiently far apart from each other, they help get rid of the snow.
How can i be sure it's the right size?
1. Put the boot on 2. Tighten the boot 3. Stand upright 4. Your big toes should just touch the tip of the boot without excessive pressure 5. Bend your legs forward, your big toes move backward and no longer touch the end of the boot.
