Very good shoes for…

Very good shoes for the price.

Perfect for everyday

I use these shoes every day, it's great in terms of comfort and ankle support.

One year after purchase...

Shoe used only during warm periods of the year 2022/2023. The sole wore out quite quickly. A cut quickly appeared on the smooth, rounded front part of the shoe. A hole quickly appeared at the little toe on the breathable mesh part. Bottom line: this pair of breathable hiking shoes is disappointing. I have the impression that these "eco-design" shoes are especially "eco" in all areas. I have another pair of decathlon shoes for winter that are also “eco-designed” and I notice that the sole wears out very quickly.

Good shoes at a good price

Very good shoes for warmer days. Good ventilation and pretty good cushioning. I am satisfied with the purchase.

Don't buy this!

I bought it for my son in the Decathlon store in Debrecen in April. In the month of April, he went to school here, which is about a 1 km walk every day. He sat in it all day on the school desk, He rested in the closet during the summer months, and then he sometimes wore it in September. When I was about to put it back in the closet in November, I saw that the pearl canvas had torn. I took it back to the store, where the salesperson explained that the shoes were not worn properly. I think even a Chinese shoe can last 6 months, even if I wear it badly. In addition, I bought these shoes for HUF 19,900! You have to forget the Decathlon! Unfortunately, this is not the first shoe that broke after a short period of use. The quality is not the same anymore!

Nice shoes but flimsy

I used the shoes for about 3 months. In the beginning, everything was very nice. I used it daily. I did not use it as land etc. However, after 3 months, deformation started in the mesh part of the little toe of my right foot and I saw that a small hole had formed. Deformation had also started on the left side. I took it to the store and explained my complaint. Thank you, the store manager friend approved the return immediately and they refunded me as a gift certificate at the current price.

High expectations poor quality

Too good to be true...after three month of urban mainly use and less outdoor hikes, the bad points i faced was bad smell even it seemed to breath well...also the front part opened a hole on net surface like i am using them for years...neither the sole is good cause i found it slippery after short walk in wet terrain

excellent shoes

They are pretty, they are comfortable but...

What I'm saying, they're pretty, they're comfortable, but the shoe on the right foot on the instep hurts me. The same thing happened to me with other shoes I bought last year. Apparently my insteps of both feet are the same, I don't have any swelling, but I'm noticing that the Decathlon brand shoes on my right foot seem to be tighter or poorly designed. I have to say that it doesn't happen to me with all sneakers but it does with some and this is one of them.

Very nice shoe. THE…

Very nice shoe. The problem being the tongue which tends to roll up on itself across the width and which presses and marks the top of the foot!

Overall it was a nice buy, but decathlon should come with only waterproof hiking shoes, since this quality is must for any hike, which this product lacks onto

Additional Product Information

Outer sole of: 50.0% Rubber, 50.0% Ethylene Vinyl Acetate ; Upper of: 60.0% Polyester, 40.0% Polyurethane ; Lining and sock of: 100.0% Polyester

We have reduced our environmental impact on this product

45.6% of the boot’s weight is eco-designed:- 40% recycled polyester main material for the upper, mesh, laces, and loops- Lining: 100% recycled polyester used for the blue/yellow model (reference 8626273) and the brown model (reference 8626275) or dope dyed for the black/yellow model (reference 8626277)- 30% biosourced (sugar cane) midsole- 30% recycled tire rubber outer sole

Resistant soles for walking trails

Our hiking boots are designed for use on hiking trails. Indeed, the materials of the sole and upper of our boots are selected and tested to ensure that they are as well suited as possible to hiking on soft trails (e.g. dirt paths in forests) or stony trails (rocky coastal footpaths). Road use (asphalt) may lead to premature wear on your boots and cause discomfort. They are not suitable for mountain hiking.

Tested for durability and optimal resistance

Laboratory tests were conducted to test the following elements: tearing eyelets and straps, gluing, toxicology, UV resistance, abrasion-resistance of outsole and upper materials, accelerated aging. These tests allow us to improve the quality of our products and prevent premature wear of our hiking boots.

What socks should you wear with the quechua escape 500 fresh boots?

We recommend that you choose a pair of socks made of polyamide, without cotton. Polyamide is a fiber that is specially chosen for its capacity to eliminate moisture. So when you sweat, the socks made of polyamide will eliminate any moisture. Then, your boots will take over the task of wicking away the moisture to the outside via the ventilated mesh. For this, we recommend the Newfeel WS500 Fresh socks.

Why choose recycled polyester?

Main material of the upper, mesh, laces, and lace loops in 40% recycled polyester. Lining 100% recycled polyester for blue/yellow and brown colors. By recycling plastic bottles or used textiles to produce our polyester, we reduce the use of petroleum-based resources while preserving the qualities and performance of the material for your hikes.

Our commitment to consume less water

We use this mass pigmentation for the black/yellow colors (reference 8626277). Textile dyeing requires a lot of water but also produces waste water from the dye baths. To reduce our environmental impact, we use a mass pigmentation process that involves adding the color pigments when the thread itself is produced.

Product testing

It’s in France, at the foot of Mont Blanc, that our design team conceives, designs, and creates Quechua products. We test them in the field with other hikers, to check their comfort and durability. Fontainebleau Forest, Brittany, or in Corsica for example. We go to as many different places as possible, in all weather conditions. This creates plenty of opportunities for discussions to get your feedback, which is used to plan our future products!

Storage instructions

Keep your boots in a dry, dark, and, if possible, ventilated place, and away from sources of heat.
