Great bike great values, the bike is well balanced and very high quality equipment from the disc brakes, saddle to the 105 gearing. The bike ride smoothly on all road conditions. The bike was delivered with minimal assembly and just two adjustments to achieve a great riding position
I've just taken delivery of the Triban 520. Fairly easy to remove packaging and attach pedals and steering bar. I'm 175cm and prefer a comfortable big frame. Disappointed however to find that the frame size is quite small. I took time to study the size chart and ordered a Large however Decathlon Large is smaller than other manufacturers 'Large' therefore I should have ordered an XL.
Ordered the RC520 last week for a store pickup, was given a delivery date, got an email when ready for pickup 8 days later. I get to the store and a very knowledgeable bike engineer had already built the bike including all the additional parts(mud guards + handle riser) which I had purchased to install at home. Bike was setup as I wanted, breaks etc were checked, all went very smoothly. On another note Decathlon is a very good sporting goods store compared the standard UK offerings, they have everything, usually in stock, on shelves with zero fuss.
I have had this bike for 5 weeks and wanted to wait that long before offering a review to see if it aligned to the external reviews this bike receives. First off, I am so pleased I ordered it......and with the flat handlebars (not many stores offer this)......which suit both the way I prefer to ride and make it so much easier to change gear and brake. For me the star is the gears, which are absolutely superb in the change etc. Seat is very comfortable and I haven't bothered to change the pedals that come with it as they are perfectly alright with the straps holding my shoe comfortably. My advice would be to click and collect as having the store set it up and have everything adjusted made the experience so much better. As I say, great bike and great value for money.
My height calculated a small frame size, for which I as a bit nervous of. However, having ridden the bike for the last three weekends, I am very pleased with ride position. I did change the handle bar riser to extend the handle bars by a cm this weekend, which made the ride even better. The specification of this bike is excellent and I am very pleased with my purchase. It is comfortable and sporty.

Das Rad waere echt super, wenn es nicht folgende negative Punkte haette: - die KMC-Kette und die Microshift-Kassette passen nicht zusammen. Die Kette rutscht an steilen Haengen durch und die Schaltung funktioniert bei manchen Ritzeln nicht richtig. Habe Kette und Kassette durch Original-Shimano-Teile (Artikelnummer 2220759 und 2857336) ersetzen lassen, seither funktioniert alles problemlos. Austausch wurde auf Garantie vom Decathlon-Service fuer einen kleinen Aufpreis (wegen der besseren Teile) gemacht. Bin daher nicht unzufrieden. Danke an Decathlon Baden-Baden. - Die Bremshebel klappern staendig bei unebener Strecke, sind leider wohl Noname-fabrikat. Bei naechster Gelegenheit werden die gegen Shimanoteile getauscht. - Die Hoernchengriffe sind schlecht und wurden sofort gegen ordentliche Hoernchen (Artikelnummer 146816 ) und doppelt gelegtes Lenkerband (Artikelnummer 2759768) ausgetauscht. - Die Schrauben des Vorbaus sind so extrem weich, dass die Imbus-Koepfe selbst bei geringen Drehmomenten rund gehen. Habe den Vorbau getauscht gegen Artikelnummer 2771073, der ist solider und schoener und die Schrauben halten 6Nm aus. - das Steuerrohr ist bei Rahmengroesse XL wirklich extreeem lang, was nicht gerade der Stabilitaet und dem Fahrverhalten z.B. bei rasanten Abfahrten dienlich ist. Hier habe ich den Eindruck, dass das Rad nicht so gut auf der Strasse liegt und man sehr aufpassen muss, damit es sich nicht aufschaukelt. Dadurch, dass das Steuerrohr so lang ist, kommt der Lenker recht hoch. Ich habe die Distanzringe rausgenommen und den Gabelschaft gekuerzt, sodass der Lenker fast 3cm runterkommt. Ich haette es gerne aber nochmal 1-2cm tiefer fuer mehr Kraft am Berg. Geht leider nicht. - Die Schlaeuche sind zu klein fuer die 32er Reifen, sind dadurch zwar leicht aber sehr empfindlich. Einer ist mir schon geplatzt. Die SV-Ventile sind glatt sodass der Kopf der SKS-Standpumpe immer abrutscht. Habe sie durch Schwalbe-Schlaeuche SV17 ersetzt, die haben geriffelte Ventile. - Der Zug fuer das Schaltwerk steht sehr weit von der rechten Ausfallenden ab, sodass man immer Angst hat, man koennte den Zug mit der rechten Ferse beruehren und dann z.B. an der Steigung ungewollt einen Gangwechsel hervorrufen. Was mir gefaellt: Die Laufraeder sind stabil und halten einiges aus. Die Bremsen sind gut (bis auf die Hebel, s.o.). Der Rahmen mit Lenker und Sattelstuetze federn Vibrationen weg, das Rad faehrt sich recht bequem, auch auf laengeren Strecken. Der Sattel ist leicht und bequem. Laengere Ausfahrten sogar ohne Radhose, also normaler Stoffhose sind machbar. Die Shimano-Ultegra Schalthebel sind super. Das Rad ist kein Leichtgewicht, der Rahmen erscheint aber solide und steif. Die Reifen sind gut, wurden dennoch gegen Schwalbe CX Pro ausgetauscht, die greifen besser auf den steilen Forstwegen hier im Schwarzwald. Insgesamt bin ich zufrieden. zumal ich nur 899EUR gezahlt habe.
Bin mit dem Rad nun einige male unterwegs gewesen. Schaltung, Bremsen, Laufräder sind top. Gesamtgewicht knapp über 10 kg ist ebenfalls ein Plus. Einzig die Griffe waren nichts, habe sie gegen Ergon-Horngriffe getauscht.
Devolví la 500 porque no estaba contento con los cambios... La diferencia económica entre las dos no es nada comparando las mejoras en la 520. Los cambios mucho mejor, más suave... Salgo casi a diario con ella y no me ha dado hasta ahora ningún problema. No he tenido que ir ni a ajustar cambios.

Bici ideal para andar en cualquier terreno si le cambias los neumáticos . Acepta hasta 35 C con lo que se convierte en una grábel a muy buen precio . No se le pueden pedir mas a 850 € . Buena compra para quien quiera una bici normal para andar en ciudad , en carretera o salir por caminos de gravilla o para , por ejemplo , hacer el camino de Santiago que es lo que yo voy a hacer .
Excellent vélo mais pneus de merde..., presque impossible à démonter. C'est dommage pour un vélo de cette qualité.
Chouettes vélo. Précis silencieux et très maniable. Par contre le montage des pneus sur les roues c’est une HORREUR, on abîme les roue, les pneus et difficile de ne pas crever la chambre à air. Vous dites que c’est à cause du tubless ready mais je n’ai pas ce problème avec les DT Suisse de mon vtt. On a peur de crever en route. Ça m’est arrivé j’ai dû appeler pour dépannage. On m’a proposé un échange le cas échéant au décathlon alleur mais suite au montage nouveau pneu (nouveau pneu car d’usine un des pneu a été déchiré au montage) et à une crevaison les jantes sont griffées avec le démonte pneu. 5 étoiles si on me change les roues car le cas contraire c’est une dépense supplémentaire pour moi de +- 200 ou 300 euros ☹️

When it came to testing this new RC520 bike, we certainly didn't hold back.In the lab, the bike passed all of the tests for the most demanding standards, as well as additional tests that helped guide our design choices (geometry, fork rigidity, etc.).But that wasn't all. We also put it through its paces on the road. We tackled some legendary routes (Paris-Roubaix, Tour des Flandres, the Ardéchoise, etc.) as well as our lunchtime rides and even gravel rides and long-distance rides with panniers
