Can I be sure my jacket will protect me well in bad weather?
To help you cope with bad weather (rain, snow, wind, etc.), the Free 300 jacket was developed and assembled using materials that prevent water from entering and ensure you feel the wind less. To check that it is waterproof, this product was placed in a special shower reproducing the actual conditions encountered by snowboarders in use. Finally, we wore them for several days' snowboarding under all conditions to validate its waterproofness.
What's the point of having a water-repellent jacket?
Water-repellent fabric allows water to run off its surface without seeping in, thanks to a treatment applied to its exterior. The fabric is not waterlogged, it stays light and warm. This treatment must be renewed in the course of the garment's lifetime, after 2 to 3 washes on average, using products available in our stores. All waterproof Wed'ze jackets receive a water-repellency treatment.
"Coated" jacket: what are the advantages of this coating?
A breathable coating is a coating applied to a fabric in the form of a paste or liquid in order to create a protective film. A breathable coating serves as a waterproof barrier that allows water vapor through.
What is a membrane and what's it for?
A membrane is a very fine material (between 5 and 25 micrometers) applied to the inner surface of a fabric to give it superior waterproof and breathable properties.
Water often gets in through the seams. Does my jacket have waterproof seams?
As well as the waterproof material, taped seams are incorporated to strength the waterproofing of the FREE 300 jacket. These are waterproof adhesive strips fixed to the inside seams of the garment to make it perfectly watertight. These taped seams are present on the areas most exposed to snow.
How will my Free 300 jacket keep me warm?
We use wadding for insulation to keep you warm. The wadding is a synthetic material containing polyester that stores more or less air depending on the size of the fibers. Wadding can be standard, hi-tech or siliconized, each with different properties (warmth, lightweight, supple, etc.). Free 300 pants also offer an additional layer of warmth at the buttocks for greater comfort when sitting in the snow.
How can I be sure that my jacket is strong?
We take particular care in choosing all the elements and assemblies that make up our products, to guarantee the best possible resistance. We know how much energy is expended during a day's skiing or snowboarding!
What is a "breathable" jacket?
Breathability is the jacket's ability to allow moisture produced during exercise to escape to the outside. The aim is to stay dry. Wed'ze uses materials that help prevent condensation inside the garment.
How should I dress to avoid feeling cold on the slopes?
In order to keep warm and dry, we recommend using the 3-layer rule. The principle is simple: Use 3 layers of fabric, each having a particular function. Your undergarment must produce and retain warmth. Your sweater or sweatshirt will keep you warm, whereas your jacket protects you from bad weather. All these layers should be breathable in order to evacuate humidity.
How can I prevent snow from getting into my jacket?
Our jackets have elasticated snow skirts that can be adjusted at the waist. If you fall or ski in fresh snow, the seal keeps the snow out.
Can I compare the products' environmental impact?
"The product's environmental impact is calculated over its entire life cycle and with different indicators. A score of A, B, C, D or E is made to help you easily identify the most eco-friendly products by comparing products of a similar type (T-shirts, trousers, backpacks). For Decathlon, this initiative to display environmental data is a priority.

To optimize your jacket's performance and durability, we advise the following: Machine wash separately at 86°F. Synthetic cycle. Turn inside out. Use a small amount of detergent. No softener. Wring out manually. Dry on a hanger in a warm, well-ventilated place. Do not dry clean. Do not place on a radiator. You can re-waterproof the outer fabric using an aerosol waterproofing spray for fabric. Read the care tag carefully.
