I bought my 900AF two years ago and each time I ride it makes me smile. For the price you pay you get a lot of bicycle. Some folk might like a big brand name on their frame but I wouldn’t swap this bike for the world. It’s precise, responsive and comfortable. Admittedly your bum gets a bit numb after 50 miles or so but not having used a different saddle to compare it with it might just be my bony posterior. Last year I had an accident so lost several months riding but this year we’ve done 1300 miles together (by June) including the Birmingham and Midland Velo in May. It’s a good feeling overtaking other riders on expensive Italian machines up hills. I had a new cassette on the back and went for an 11/30 rather than the 11/28 it came with which helps with the hills. The rear brake calliper sometimes picks of twigs but other than that I can’t fault it. If you’re looking at a first road bike pay that little bit more and get the 900AF over one of the Tribans, you will not outgrow it quickly.
Ride mountains with this in China and many of the roads are partially paved and really rough for road riding. This bikes relatively light weight, strength of components and frame dampening combined with reliable shifting really gets the job done. Also, the puncture protect BTwin tires may not be the lightest but they are super strong and I have yet to have a flat unlike many from those I ride with. Was one of the cheapest Shamino 105 groupset bikes I could find. Have covered around 500kms since purchasing and it's a great bike so far. The only criticism is the extremely cheap saddle, this went in the bin after the first ride as it was awful and left me with pain for days. Swapped it for a cheap Charge Spoon (around £20) and has been perfect since.
Ultra 900AF purchase from Oxford branch seems great, picked it up early Jan and having completed several rides (30k-50k) so far, I love this bike and the spec from a value for money perspective. Way more comfortable and responsive than previous Giant bike (that was more expensive several years ago) - so, all in all, another great bike from Decathlon. Well set up by guys in Oxford store too.
Brought this bike as an upgrade from a Triban 500se. It’s very smooth to ride and the gear changes are a world apart from the previous bike, you only have to touch the leavers and the changes are so smooth, effortlessly. I only have one gripe and that’s the saddle, 30 miles in and my back side was pleading with me to stop. I’ve changed the saddle for a selle royal respiro . Everything’s sweet now and Ian well pleased.
Had this a few weeks now. Done some longer rides and it has been great...headset wasn't set up right, but some minor adjustments put it right. Must be the best value bike in its class.
Bought to replace ageing Carbon Trek Ultrega. Very impressed with the way it climbs, most of the first 500k spent in the Andorra & French Pyrenees and it was a joy to ride. Very comfortable too. Set up in store wasn't the best, had to adjust the gears after the first ride but no big drama. Was unsure about rear brake picking up dirt etc, but seems fine so far. All my French mates rave about these bikes so as l can't beat them l joined them! Would highly recommend this bike
Very nice bike
Very pleased with the 900AF package. The tyres provided are like butter to anything sharper than a marble though. Puncture on third ride. :(
Bought this bike as a "winter bike" , but was amazed at how good the spec was for such a good price. Been out on it a few times and it feels pretty nippy but also feels pretty strong and durable, perfect for terrible winter conditions, potholes and the like. The handlebars are reassuringly wide and beefy so you can get a good grip when your hands are on the bars. Plenty of room for mudguards' lights etc, and the wheels (with bladed spokes) feel good too. I swapped the tyres first tho - from (bad) previous experience the tyres that come with the wheels are as useful as a chocolate teacup. Overall a great bike with great spec, and is easy on the eye.
After a lot of consideration I purchased a b twin ultra 900. I have had it for 2 weeeks and I cannot fault it. Definitely recommend. Great service and a lovely bike.
I bought this as my first road bike. I don't have anything to compare it to but I'm very happy with it. I've had it just over a week and have covered about 70 miles. The bike was very easy to get used to. I've tried it out on flats a took it up into the Pennines at the weekend. Great for getting up hills. My only complaint would be that when my bike was put together the peddles were put on too tightly and now I can't get them off to change them. I'm going to have to take it back to the store which is a bit of a pain. Nothing wrong with the quality of the bike though.
bought this as a second bike for an upcoming trip to flanders, it is £200 plus cheaper than similar specced bikes but by no means feels cheap, the frame feels stiff and responsive with no notable unwanted flex and i have been pleasantly surprised by the ride comfort from what is clearly a well designed frameset. The mavic wheels and 105 groupset work as expected from these tried and tested components, well done decathlon for putting together a great bike at a great price
Very pleased with bike. A very slight set up issue and fella in the shop fixed it in minutes. Very pleased with bike and servicd
Very lite fast and easy to manage on the road. Real value for money
