Good report but many glitches

Purchased in July 2023, my grvl 520 quickly revealed some defects. The most annoying thing is a crack in the fork at the slightest roughness in the road (not very practical for a gravel bike). To this day, there is no way to know where this cracking comes from. The rear cassette is almost dead and the wheels are average quality. The flaws drive me crazy. Too bad since without the defects the bike is really good...

For the price…

For the price it's great the knowledge decat is second to none the employees are young and super friendly.

Top gravel bike at an affordable price

I've had the bike for over a week now and can't say anything negative about the bike. The light aluminum frame with the carbon fork and the super preset 105 Shimano gears have it all. Here you get a really cool gravel bike for a small dollar and great features. With other manufacturers with similar features and duller colors you pay at least a thousand more. Keep it up dear Decathlon team 👍

Top, super happy Report…

Lovely bike, appalling tyres puncture-magnet tyres

I love this bike, it;s beautiful to ride - But I've had it for three months now and I've had three punctures during that time - riding on London roads. And no - not glass, or nails. Each time it was a thorn that had gone straight through the tyre. For context I hadn't had a puncture in the last 4 years on my old hybrid. My local Decathlon didn't stock any alternative tyres it would "recommend" for the bike, so I guess I'm going to be visiting my local independent shops, looking for replacement tyres for a £1,000 bike, Sad.

Ultra versatile

Great compromise

GOOD

Very good Gravel for the price. The brakes are great. I did Reims-Nimes with it and have used it every day for 2 years. Not much to complain about except that the transmission system (somewhat in-house design with Shimano 105) sometimes lacks precision and the gear changes can sometimes fail. In any case, for a more experienced practice of Gravel you will have to switch to GRX which costs a little more. Can we modify the transmission system in the Decath workshop? I don't know 😄

Very good bike but....

Very good bike but after 700 km, the rear k7 failed (a very well-known problem according to groups on Facebook). Under repair since 12/19/2023 and to date still no return (03/09). In short, if you buy one, replace the wheels directly with better ones! I hope that Decathlon will make a commercial gesture to me.

Good bike for beginners

I bought this bike and wanted to "upgrade" it. I quickly realized that there is very little possibility of changing components (wheels for example). Otherwise it's very good value for money, except the paint which has a very weak layer of varnish and which is easily scratched...so be careful when cleaning. I was fully refunded, and I was very well received by the Decathlon Meyrin staff who are very friendly.

Excellent gravel bike

Great bike. Very versatile all within an acceptable budget. Small downside on the assembly of the front mudguard which rubbed upon receipt: I have to return to the store to replace it. Breaking in the brakes also takes a bit of time.

Not sold with mandatory equipment

The bicycle is not sold with the lighting and signaling equipment required by French regulations. According to the DGCCRF website, “distributors must ensure that lighting and visual signaling devices as well as an audible warning device are delivered with each bicycle”. Decathlon does not comply with these legal obligations, since the bike does not have front and rear position lights, nor rear and front reflectors. It also does not have a buzzer.
