unusable after less than a year

They don't last a year. Of course I walk but if you call intensive 5 to 6 hikes per month over 20 km I don't understand. My shoes cracked overnight. We see daylight through them and they take on water.

Extra but....

Happiness ! So comfortable, pleasant and pretty. Very appreciable for me in a humid environment... or even liquid!! Only the inside of my heel is shifted inwards, it rubs against the shoe and it only takes two walks a week to trigger a little sciatica. Checked several times with a month wait between each test. My son doesn't have this problem...

Comfortable hiking shoes

The shoes are generally comfortable and wide but after wearing them 2-3 times a strange stitch appeared on the inside, quite thick, which caused a bit of irritation for my toes.

Additional Product Information

Composition

Outer sole of: 60.0% Synthetic Rubber, 40.0% Polyurethane ; Upper of: 60.0% Leather - Bovine - Split, 40.0% Polyester ; Lining and sock of: 100.0% Polyester

Sole with grip

The grip of our soles is certified. To be awarded certification, the boots must pass laboratory tests to assess the grip rate on different surfaces (Smooth, Rugged, Dry, Wet). To validate these tests, we assess the quality of our soles in the field, in the mountains, by a panel of representative testers over 310 miles

Why offer the same model with 2 widths at the front of the foot?

Following an extensive study of hiker fts preferences when it comes to boot shape, we decided to design a boot available in 2 different shapes: 1 InchclassicInch and 1 InchwideInch. Each individual can choose how much space they have inside the boots and reduce the risk of inflammation and blisters caused by badly fitting boots.

How waterproof are these boots?

This boot has been validated by a waterproofing test at 30,000 repeatable flexes, i.e. 9 miles - 6 hours of walking, in water up to the mid-upper, which today guarantees a very good level of waterproofing for your boots.--> Our assessment indicates a LEVEL OF 3/5 giving 6 hours of waterproofing when hiking in the rain. The details of tests carried out to assess the waterproofing of our boots is below, in the features section.

Making waterproofing last longer

A shoe's waterproofing is often undermined by water getting in from the top of the shoe. To keep your feet dry for longer, it is therefore advisable to use a waterproof gaiter or mini-gaiter that will prevent not only water from getting inside through the top, but also pebbles, sand, etc. It is advisable to use a waterproof spray several times a year. This restores the original water-repellent properties and prevents staining.

Care advice

1 / Use a brush and/or sponge to clean the boot and remove any dirt or mud.2/ Then leave to air-dry, away from any heat source.3/ Finish by using a re-waterproofing spray to keep optimal water-repellency of the upper and extend the life of the boot. Link below for the applicator, also available online https://www.decathlon.fr/p/applicateur-re-activateur-de-deperlance-pour-chaussures/_/R-p-307629?mc=8551

Which size should i select?

Which size should I select? For hiking, do not hesitate to buy 1 size larger than the usual size to guarantee excellent comfort on the descent and to avoid toes rubbing at the tip of the shoe. Tip: keep your toenails short and, before making your descent, check that your lacing prevents your foot from sliding toward the front of the boot.

5 levels of waterproofing

During the waterproofing test, we test 5 levels of waterproofing: 2,000 flexes (approximately 2.5 miles, 30 minutes of walking) 10,000 flexes (approximately 6 miles, 3 hours of walking) 30,000 flexes (approximately 9 miles, 6 hours of walking) 50,000 flexes (approximately 12.5 miles, 8 hours of walking)100,000 flexes (approximately >12.5 miles, 24 hours of walking)

Waterproofing test

Our shoes are laboratory tested according to 2 successive tests Test 1 / We test the efficiency of the membrane only when it is pressured and placed in water, we check the absence of water at the surface, like when you test a Inchpunctured inner tube.Test 2 / The assembled shoes are placed on mechanical arms that simulate walking and are half immersed in water. They complete thousands of flexes to check that the inside of the shoe remains dry and it is therefore waterproof.

Buying tips / how do you try your boots on?

How to choose your boots:1. Try on both shoes standing up and wearing the socks worn for hiking. 2. Tighten the laces correctly3. Check the following 2 areas of comfort: the base of the heel and the front part of the foot going down. 4. Get up to walk with the boots on.5. Try on several sizes and several models.6. Wear your boots for increasingly long periods to wear them in

Product testing

As well as the various laboratory tests, these boots were tested in the field by passionate backpackers during a 310-mile DURABILITY MISSION TEST, on the GR5 and backpacking trails of the Canaries.Check out the film of this mission test by clicking this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L5o2h5v5RsU
