super comfortable to wear, very waterproof, the cut is good. the breathability is better than a k-way but it still keeps you sweaty. if the sun comes out, it's better to open the jacket so it can breathe.
Very comfortable
Nice jacket but really not that breathable for the advertised RET level. The reinforced zippers for the rain are good but it would have been very nice to have a quick access side pocket for tissues or for the back pocket to be compartmentalized for practical access.
Rain jacket is good, I liked the shape of the jacket, price is ok,
The jacket has not experienced a real rain shower yet, but it is comfortable to wear and great against wind. It reliably keeps out splashes of water and drizzle.

It is offered as a rain jacket but is not at all waterproof. Just windproof. Absolutely disappointed with the jacket.
Bought on the fly for a gravel trail after seeing the rain forecast. Spent a whole day under water. excellent for waterproofing and also excellent in terms of breathability given the physical effort made.
Trying in a light rain, does not press a good point for a rain jacket; just mild but through sweat (I am a person who sweats a lot).

Really nice jacket so far, have not had it long. Only issue is that it runs pretty short! I'm 6'2" / 186cm, 190lbs, and despite Decathalon's website suggesting I get a large, some of my belly still peaks out. I would recommend getting a size bigger than recommended if you are on the tall end

Fabric waterproofing
A fabric's waterproofing is determined by measuring its resistance to the pressure exerted by a water column, measured in mm (test based on ISO 811 standard). The higher the pressure, the more waterproof the fabric.The RC500 jacket's waterproofing stats: 8,000 mm before washing, 5,000 mm after 5 washes.
Jacket waterproofing
It's not just the fabric that's important for the product's waterproofing; the construction is just as big a deal. The seams on the RC500 are sealed and we have chosen to use the waterproof YKK AquaGuard® zipper.
Fabric breathability (ret)
To determine a fabric's breathability we measure its evaporative resistance or RET (based on standard ISO11092). The lower its resistance, the more it lets water vapor produced by the body escape, therefore the more breathable it is. •RET <6: Extremely breathable, suitable for most intense workouts•RET 6 to 12: Very breathable, designed for moderate exercise•RET 12 to 20: Moderately breathable, not enough for exercise•RET >20: little breathability, unsuitable for exercise
Membrane or coating?
The RC500 jacket's fabric has a membrane.The membrane is a type of very thin micro-perforated plastic film (polyurethane) that makes the fabric both waterproof and breathable. It is also very supple, lighter, more durable and more breathable than a fabric with a coating.A coating is like a layer of paint on the underside of the fabric to make it waterproof. It costs less than a membrane, and requires a lining to protect it.
Fold-up flap
As you know, if the road is wet, it can be very unpleasant getting your shorts covered in spray from the rear wheel. To solve this problem, we've equipped the RC500 jacket with a retractable flap at the base of the back. It can be discreetly folded into the back of the jacket, and is very practical when needed.It goes without saying that adding a mudguard to the rear of your bike adds even more protection against splashes.
