Great value. Great walking stick.

The walking stick is good quality and telescopes very nicely. I like the push button expansion instead of the twisting lock system of my other walking stick. I like the color too, but that is just my preference.

Very Convenient Hiking poles

Great adjustable poles. My wife, kids, and I use them when we hike. they are easy to store and carry and it is great to be able to adjust them for kids and adults.

These are awesome, been backpacking without poles until I picked up a set for my partner and I. They seem to stay straight even with some misuse.

Great Value Budget Walking Pole

I am impressed with the compact size, light weight and general quality of this inexpensive pole. I actually bought a second one, potentially to use for supporting a lightweight hiking tent. The only couple of minor negatives are that the wind sometimes "whistles" through the length adjustment holes, depending on the angle you hold the pole. The other is that it using a simple piece of thin cord as the wrist support instead of the usual strap. However I didn't find it uncomfortable during a 26 km hike.

Played with it

I can't really give a review, because of a leg injury I haven't been able to use it but just plsyingvwith it at home it seems sturdy enough and collapses small enough to fit in my back pack

They help me walk farther than I could before.

I watched a video so I knew how to walk with them. They help to propel me forward. I bought the rubber tips as well, at Décathlon, as they are quite noisy without them. I like the fact that they can be disassembled and will be short enough to go in a suitcase if I want to take them with me when I travel.

Good budget pole

We use these for Scouts - both for walking, and making tarp shelters. For a fiver, you can't go wrong!

Excellent value knee savers

I purchased these to try out walking poles. They were the cheapest in store. I completed the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge yesterday using these poles. Usually by the time I'm descending Ingleborough (the final peak), I am experiencing knee pain, yesterday I had none. I would imagine you could buy more expensive ones but these were great to try out poles for the first time. I will certainly using them again. Two notes: 1. These poles don't have straps so rely on your grip. I didn't find this a problem. 2. Due to the design, they whistle when wind blows through the holes. I didn't find it a problem. For a fiver apiece they are hard to beat.

Additional Product Information

How it was designed...

Fully designed and validated by our team. Why have we chosen the Push-pin? Some users do not want to make adjusting their poles more complicated than it needs to be. This system is simple, reliable, light and cheap. Why are the tubes oversize? Because this model is designed for walkers who need to be reassured about their reliability. Why a straight foam handle? Because our field tests have shown that comfort is better than with a plastic handle.

How to adjust your poles to the correct length?

Hold the poles with your arms bent at a right angle. To adjust the length: press the button to release it from the hole, slide the tube until the button reaches the hole at the desired length. Use the line printed on the lower tube to align the button with the holes. Never go over the STOP line to avoid breaking the pole.

Directions for use

These hiking poles are designed to help you balance, propel yourself and spread the effort between the arms and legs. To increase safety, before you start and at regular intervals, check your pole's locking mechanism by pressing down hard on it. Do not attach to your rucksack in stormy weather.

Care instructions

Maintaining your poles properly enables you to maintain optimal function and increases their lifespan. After use, if water has got into the pole, take the parts apart and allow to dry. Clean any dust and mud with water or without, with a soft brush or paintbrush. Once dry, you can reassemble the parts. We recommend that you do not try to oil or grease them.

Why sell them individually?

Here at Decathlon, we’ve decided to sell our hiking/backpacking poles individually. Partly for reasons of use. Indeed, some people only want to use one pole. So this meets their needs. Also, if one of your poles breaks, it means you can buy just a single pole rather than a complete pair.

Product testing

To set our thresholds, we have measured the stresses on the poles in the most demanding situations. During the design stage, each model passes laboratory tests that reproduce these stresses (compression, 3-point flexing; etc.) until rupture. We also tests parts separately (tightening power, tearing, etc). Finally, these tests are regularly repeated during production to guarantee constant quality.

Storage instructions

Store the poles without tightening the adjustment system in order to reduce the stresses on the system and protect their tightening power. Store poles in a dry place.
