I've had this softshell for 6 years, which I use regularly. Unfortunately the zipper seized up. Decathlon.fr advises me to contact the workshops. Answer: the repair costs €60, that is to say the price of a new one! come on, one more effort, economic ecology is coming soon!
I did a lot of research (not to mention countless!) 🤭, and it was this MT500 softshell jacket that I chose. - perfect complete fleece interior, for the warmth that it can provide in the mountains during bivouacs or in the Auvergne evening for example! Perhaps less breathable than brushed fleece, but personally, I feel more comfortable there! - the looooong sleeves which cover the fist well 👊🏼, it's very pleasant I find - the elastic sleeves (no more scratches for me, which damage the clothes you put on!) - the thumb loops (I don't more precisely!) - real water-repellent and windproof material 👌🏼 If there is a downside to make, it would be the slightly (but very slightly!) short cut for my taste, and the hood which seems to me to be rethought. Like the new MT500 Windwarm, I much prefer it! What a shame that the Decathlon teams have removed these practical and pleasant sleeves and this full fleece lining... 😕

Super windproof, keeps you warm for fall but a little limited for winter
I haven't tried it in all seasons or climates, but it was what I was looking for and couldn't find. it is light
I wore this jacket at Tungnath when it was completely covered in snow. I had only one layer underneath this jacket and yet I didn’t feel cold at all. This is sooooo good. Highly recommended 🙌🏻

What is the cut of this softshell jacket?
Quite a close-fitting cut. The jacket is designed to be worn with a slim-fitting second layer such as a fleece.
Breathability
The main fabric used throughout the jacket, except at the sides, has a windproof membrane with a breathability of 2814 g/sqm for 24 h (according to the JIS 1099 A standard).

Water repellent property of component (not to be confused with waterproofing)
A fabric is water repellent when it allows water slide over its surface without seeping in. This prevents the fabric from swelling, and keeps it lightweight and warm. The water repellent property is achieved by treating the fabric's exterior. This treatment must be renewed throughout the garment's lifespan (recommended after each wash).
