Not bad for £35

I have a long body, which meant I had to buy a size or two up to stop the crotch cutting me in two. The salopettes are waterproof, wind proof, adjustable and comfortable. At a fraction of big brand prices they perform their duties well. I would love to see a zip at the fly area and a pocket, then they would be five stars, but for the price I am well happy

Good value

Great vale and a good fit.

Fantastic

Although I don't use mine for sailing I use them for marshaling events in bad weathers and I have to say I'm more than happy they kept me warm and dry, They are also easy to get on and off with footwear due to the adjustable ankles

Only thing missing is a pocket

The description says "3-4 half days sailing per year". I must have done 30-50 full days sailing with them since buying them just over a year ago. They're still perfectly waterproof and comfortable, great value. The only thing I would change about them would be to add a pocket.

Hi Peter,

Thanks for the feedback - what a great review! I wish you many more days of happy sailing, and will pass on your feedback to the brand about the pocket.

Have a great day,
SHARON

Sizing

I phoned the Bolton store to get sizes as there is no size measurement chart on the website. I was told I need an XL to fit 38" waist. On arrival the waist was 42". I bought these as they were described as lightweight. They are bulkier and heavier than my salopettes that I wear as a bosun's mate crewing tallships across the atlantic. Plus I have to pay for the return postage which is not right as the description and sizing advice was totally wrong. Returned unworn.

Dear Kenneth,

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you found our sailing salopettes too big and too heavy. After your feedback we are trying to add additional information about men's UK sizing to each trousers to make sure the choice can be made correctly. Current size system for this model is more for the height then waist as they have elastic strap in the middle and it is important to have correct leg length. We hope the refund already reached your bank account.
Once again apologies for any inconvenience caused.
Kind regards,

KORNEL

Taschen wären schön

Gut und günstig, aber halt keine Taschen

Schlechter Zuschnitt

Additional Product Information

Composition

Main fabric: 100.0% Polyamide ; Main lining: 100.0% Polyester cationic

Waterproofing

- The rain simulator reproduces these conditions for 2 hours. - Component resistant to water pressure of 2000 mm after aging (= 2000 Schmerber - average pressure of water during a downpour)- Water-repellent components (water runs off the fabric).- Fully taped seams.- Adjustable straps.- Bottom of the legs adjustable by rip-tab strips.

Breathability

RET <12: very breathable. To find out whether a fabric is breathable, we measure its evaporative resistance, or RET, (test based on the ISO 11092 standard). It is its ability to allow the water vapor produced by the body during exercise to escape.

Features

- Injected plastic central zipper- Elasticated, adjustable straps and elasticated waistband.

How to reactivate the jacket's water-repellency step 1: before washing

Close all zippers and flaps and remove any parts of the garment that cannot be washed. Also remember to loosen the straps and elastic parts and empty the pockets. Then turn the garment inside out to wash it.

How to reactivate the jacket's water-repellency step 2: washing

You can wash your jacket on a synthetic cycle at 86°F or 104°F with your usual detergent. Do not use fabric softener, which could damage the existing performance of the garment, or bleach. Also take care not to bend your jacket too much when you place it in the washing machine and do not overload your machine.Very important: select a thorough rinse or double rinse to completely remove all detergent residue.

How to reactivate the jacket's water-repellency step 3: drying

Drying is a crucial phase in reactivating the water-repellent treatment. We recommend that you lay your jacket flat on a clothes rack and leave it out to dry in the open. Caution: never dry your jacket directly on a radiator. Then place it in the tumble dryer on a short synthetics cycle, i.e. 10 to 15 minutes, before turning it back the right way around. Caution: do not overdry the garment.

How to reactivate the jacket's water-repellency

If, despite this procedure of washing and thorough rinsing followed by gentle drying in a tumble dryer, the drops of water no longer run off the surface of your jacket, we recommend that you ”re-waterproof” it using a waterproofing spray sold in our stores.

Storage instructions

Store in a dry place, but do not leave your garment on a heat source such as a radiator, as this may damage the waterproof membrane or coating.
