Product Customer Reviews

My daughter is large for her age, but these suits are brilliantly made, easy to get on and off and less than half the price of the big named brands, but the construction is just as good.Their sizing is a bit small in my opinion, 9yr old in a 12 yr old suit. Sadly, next year she'll have to go into the adult suits, hopefully, they'll be as good. You can't buy better for the price.
We bought these for our twins aged 7, to sail and have fun in the water. The suits are warm and the kids never complained about being cold. However after 5 times of wearing the suits my daughter firstly had a soar sport on her leg which stopped her from swimming. This was from the inside of the suit at the seam. Then my son also complain he was soar around the arm pit, when in removed the suit I noticed scratches on his back also from the seams rubbing his skin. I am sure when I return them that decathlon will re fund ??? It’s a shame really.
I bought this for my daughter as we were doing a lot of cold water swimming in the Pacific. The green bit of the wetsuit is super thick and makes it stay incredibly warm! The limbs are also very thick but the torso is what stays the most dry. I would highly recommend this wetsuit!
Firstly, usual excellent value from Decathlon. As ever with Decathlon, the sizing is from another planet so always size up at least one size. My kids have used these a fair bit over the last year for surfing, sup, sailing and wild swimming. This has been 4 seasons. Clearly in winter the water time is minimal in a 4:3 but combined with hoods boots and gloves, you can have some fun. 2 issues. Minor point is the unnecessarily short zip pull. Major point is the velcro neck tab. Failed on both and on those of our friends. Leaves the neck gapping and then flushing occurs. Will I buy more? Yes because they are hood value.
Nice fit does what wetsuit is supposed to do
good fit, son enjoys wearing it. getting easier to get on and off with use. quick to dry.
Very happy
Great fitting wet-suit - plenty warm enough for snorkelling in Jersey in August
Bought my daughter this wetsuit after she has complained often that she is cold in her shorty. I like the zip and the single velcro fastening at the top of the back - there is less velcro than on our other suits and this will cause less damage! The zip in the legs makes it bit easier to get on and off. I did think it was a bit short - only overlapping a little with the boots that we also bought. The sizes of the suits are small - we bought the age 12 one for my 10 year old we had previously ordered the age 10 suit but it was clear on trying it on that it was never going to fit. The only other issue is the inside of the seams - my daughter has reported that she felt the seam was a little scratchy behind the knee- and indeed when you look at the inside the seams are very noticeable - quite unlike the c-skins suit that my other daughter has. However for the money I think it's a good suit.
Bought these for our children for a holiday in Cornwall in June. They kept them warm and allowed movement for swimming, body boarding, kayaking and general wave jumping! No complaints from either of them! Water was 12/13 degrees and these just did the job.
Great fit, Good look, Perfect for cooler temperatures. Exactly what we wanted.
My boy loves his new wetsuit and over the bank holiday weekend we couldn't get him out the water, even though it was still very cold, the wetsuit kept him warm and protected from the chill and sun. Great purchase and I will be back
I bought this for my son and the quality is excellent.(glued and blind stitched) However the sizing is on the small size and my 8 yr old boy 1.2 tall can not fit into it comfortably and up against another suit for a 1.3 tall child there is an enormous amount of difference albeit that suit was too big for him. I suggest buying the next size up and maybe it would be a good idea if Decathlon put some sizes on their products rather than just age after all go and visit a school and you will see the age of a child is irrelevant as they can differ in size immensely especially as these are unisex.
Great value wetsuit. My son very happy with it
Got two of these for kids (girl 8 and boy 10) for an Easter (cold Easter....) trip to Cornwall. Fitted perfectly, really well made, very 'solid' but, most of all, kept them warm in the cold Atlantic for 60-90 minutes. So much better value than the 'big name' btrands

Composition
Foam: 100.0% Rubber - Chloroprene - Neoprene ; Lining: 100.0% Polyamide
How to choose the right wetsuit (part 1)
The first selection criterion when choosing a surfing wetsuit is the water temperature. Water temperature varies according to the location and the time of the year. Systematically make sure that the water temperature at your spot corresponds to the recommended temperature range: Warm water above 68°F. Temperate water between 62 and 72°F. Cold water between 53 and 62°F. Very cold water between 45 and 54°F. Visit the site seatemperature.org to find out the temperature of your spot.
How to choose the right wetsuit (part 2)
The 2nd criterion to take into account is the length of your sessions. If your sessions last less than an hour, the 100 models will be suitable. For up to 2 hours, opt for the 500 models, and for up to 3 hours, the 900 models.Compared to the 100 models, the 500 models will be warmer (and more watertight) and more efficient at reducing fatigue (more freedom of movement) and irritation. The same is true for the 900 models compared with the 500 models.NB: the 900 models are easier to put on.
Choose the right size
To make the most of the features of your wetsuit, it is necessary to choose the correct size. A surfing wetsuit should be a very tight fit and there should be no visible folds. When dry, it is perfectly normal to feel like it is too tight, this discomfort disappears as soon as the wetsuit gets wet. If you choose a wetsuit that is too big, folds will appear, you will experience irritation and thermal insulation will be reduced (letting in water).Try it on before you buy it!
Materials
This Tribord 100 4/3 wetsuit is made with genuine neoprene to ensure even better thermal insulation. The neoprene is lined with polyamide fabric for added resistance to wear. Neoprene thickness: 4 and 3 mm. Neoprene is a closed-cell polychloroprene elastomeric foam with trapped nitrogen bubbles that have insulating properties. We test and guarantee the thermal quality of our neoprene materials.
Neck
The neck finish has been developed to limit irritation. According to the sensitivity of the wearer, a UV top can be worn under the wetsuit to reduce the risk of irritation. The application of grease (e.g. Vaseline) in friction areas (neck, underarms, knees) is also recommended if wearing the wetsuit for long periods.Make sure the flap is always inside the wetsuit to limit the risk of irritation with the zipper and the neck.
Watertight assembly
The seams are stitched and glued for a watertight seal and durability. The seams are ”blind-stitched”, which means the thread does not pass through the entire thickness of the neoprene and so prevents water from getting through. The absence of threads on the inside avoids irritation and chafing. Patches for comfort and reinforcement are strategically placed on the inside in sensitive areas.
Fastening
Our zippers and fastenings are laboratory tested in order to ensure an optimal lifespan and good resistance to salt water. We have put the zipper at the back of the wetsuit for more comfort during surf sports (when lying down to paddle).
Zipper pull
We are required by law to put a short cord on the zippers of junior products to prevent the risk of strangulation for the youngest users. For older children, you can add a longer cord so that they can operate the zipper themselves. A small rip-tab prevents accidental opening of the zipper during use.
Anti-chafing design
We designed this product with seamless panels under the arms to limit irritation due to the repetitive paddling movements associated with surf sports.
Product testing
Developed and tested by our design teams in Hendaye, France. The components used for this product are laboratory-tested to ensure the best possible quality and durability.
Storage instructions
In a dry, ventilated place. Avoid heat sources. To extend the life of your wetsuit, do not leave it out to dry in direct sunlight. Machine washing is not recommended.
