Product Customer Reviews

raphael was always getting cold so quikly in the water. We have tried doubling wetsuits, adding rashies, hat, but nothing was making hi feel better. After 30 mins in the water it was it he had to get out, this has changed his life, he can stay as long as he wants in the water and absolutely loves it. His surfing skills are rocketing and he loves this wetsuit. It is soft and nice to wear, and can be worn without anything underit. Definitely recommending it.
I bought this wetsuit after my friends children wearing it. It keeps them warm for a long time in the sea even in the autumn ! Very thick and well worth the money. I sized up as my daughter is tall and pleased I did as the 10- 12 fits great and she’s only 8. Least it should last a few year .
I bought the age 10 wetsuit for my 10 year old boy. He's bang on average height for his age (according to all the height charts!), and quite skinny, so I assumed the age 10 would fit fine. However, when he tried on the suit he couldn't get it on and it was even to small for his (tall) 8 year old brother. We thus returned and swapped for the age 12. The age 12 fits my 10yr old perfectly, if anything a bit tight and he will likely have outgrown this before he's 11, so I think decathlon need to re-think their sizing! Son took the suit out for its first try in open water yesterday. He did a short 1k swim and said the arms felt quite restricted, but he got used to it. Said it kept him very warm, which was great! Unfortunately the zip area rubbed alot and caused friction burns to his neck so he was quite uncomfortable and has some nasty scars today. We have now ordered a neck protector he can wear underneath, so the wetsuits next use will hopefully be more comfy.
excellent, slightly small on the fitting size but keeps daughter warm in the cold North Sea, so very happy with product
Used for bodyboarding several times now in cold water 9degrees with no complaints. Pay careful attention to the child’s height and all should be good.
Good quality, hard wearing and warm, my daughter loves it.
My son loves this. Has spent days in the surf in Canary Islands, Devon and Cornwall. So some pretty cold water ... 15-21C or so. No issues after perhaps 20 days in the water.
Super Preis-Leistung

Schnelle Lieferung; gute Verarbeitung, alles top!

How to choose the right wetsuit (part 1)
The first selection criterion when choosing a surfing wetsuit is the water temperature.Water temperature varies according to the location and the time of the year.Systematically make sure that the water temperature at your spot corresponds to the recommended temperature range:Warm water above 70°F.Temperate water between 62 and 72°F.Cold water between 53 and 62°F.Very cold water between 45 and 54°F.Visit the site seatemperature.org to find out the temperature of your spot.
How to choose the right wetsuit (part 2)
The 2nd criterion to take into account is the length of your sessions. If your sessions last less than an hour, the 100 models will be suitable. For up to 2 hours, opt for the 500 models, and for up to 3 hours, the 900 models.Compared to the 100 models, the 500 models will be warmer (and more watertight) and more efficient at reducing fatigue (more freedom of movement) and irritation. The same is true for the 900 models compared with the 500 models.NB: the 900 models are easier to put on.
Choose the right size
To make the most of the features of your wetsuit, it is necessary to choose the correct size. A surfing wetsuit should be a very tight fit and there should be no visible folds. When dry, it is perfectly normal to feel like it is too tight, this discomfort disappears as soon as the wetsuit gets wet. If you choose a wetsuit that is too big, folds will appear, you will experience irritation and thermal insulation will be reduced (letting in water).Try it on before you buy it!
Materials
This 500 4/3 OLAIAN wetsuit is made of genuine neoprene to guarantee greater thermal insulation. The neoprene is lined with synthetic fabric for added resistance to wear. Neoprene thickness: 4 and 3 mm. Neoprene is a closed-cell polychloroprene elastomeric foam with trapped nitrogen bubbles that have insulating properties. We test and guarantee the thermal quality of our neoprene materials.
Neck
The neck finish has been developed to limit irritation. According to the sensitivity of the wearer, a UV top can be worn under the wetsuit to reduce the risk of irritation. The application of grease (e.g. Vaseline) in friction areas (neck, underarms) is also recommended if wearing the wetsuit for long periods. Make sure the flap is always inside the wetsuit to limit the risk of irritation with the zipper and the neck.
Fastening
Our zippers and fastenings are laboratory-tested in order to ensure an optimal lifespan and good resistance to salt water. We have put the zipper at the back of the wetsuit for more comfort during surf sports (when lying down to paddle).
Zipper pull
We are required by law to put a short cord on the zippers of junior products to prevent the risk of strangulation for the youngest users. From size 10 years, the cords are longer and allow handling independently. A small rip-tab prevents accidental opening of the zipper during use.
Watertight assembly
The seams are stitched and glued to ensure a watertight seal and durability. The seams are blind-stitched, which means the thread does not pass through the entire thickness of the neoprene and so prevents water from getting through. The absence of threads on the inside avoids irritation and chafing. Patches for comfort and reinforcement are strategically placed on the inside in sensitive areas.
Key pocket
There is a key pocket under the zipper flap. From size 10 years.
Product testing
Developed and tested by our design teams in Hendaye, France. The fabrics used for this product are laboratory tested to ensure the best possible quality and durability.
Storage instructions
In a dry, ventilated place. Avoid heat sources. To extend the life of your wetsuit, do not leave it out to dry in direct sunlight. Machine washing is not recommended.
